Grand Hotel et de Milan 

We have just returned from an unforgettable family stay at the Grand Hotel et de Milan, and I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We traveled to Milan with three generations of our family, ranging from young adults to grandparents in their 80s, and the Grand Hotel et de Milan could not have been a more perfect home for us. The hotel itself is beautiful—historic, elegant, sophisticated and wonderfully located—but what truly distinguishes it is the people. The Concierge Team was simply phenomenal. They helped us coordinate a fairly complicated family trip involving Lake Como, a private boat, drivers, Bellagio, San Siro, restaurants, changing schedules and numerous last-minute requests. Every detail was handled with extraordinary professionalism, patience and warmth. Somehow, with a large multigenerational family moving in different directions, they made everything feel effortless. Because they took care of the logistics so beautifully, we were free to do what mattered most: enjoy Milan and enjoy being together. The personal hospitality throughout our stay was equally remarkable. Stefano Donato and the hotel team made us feel genuinely welcomed and cared for, with thoughtful gestures and surprises that went far beyond what one ordinarily expects—even at a five-star hotel. One detail particularly resonated with us. We learned that the Grand Hotel et de Milan is an independent luxury hotel that has remained in the same family for three generations. As we were there celebrating Milan with three generations of our own family, there was something wonderfully fitting about that connection. Perhaps it also explains the hotel’s unusual warmth: this feels less like a corporate luxury property and more like a great hotel with a soul. We stayed at a beautiful hotel, but what we will remember most is how the Grand Hotel et de Milan made us feel. Our family left with extraordinary memories of Milan, Lake Como, wonderful meals and countless adventures—and this hotel and its exceptional team became an important part of those memories. There are hotels you enjoy, and there are hotels you genuinely look forward to returning to. For our family, the Grand Hotel et de Milan is unquestionably the latter.
