Dirty surrounded pool and grounds. Dark dirty rooms. No pretty greenery, forget the lavender sight.

The resevervtion team does not respond any complaints. The local team was not helpful at all with any problems. The wifi was vey poor quality.

Very poor quality. Unfriendly staff not responding to complaints. I definitely do not recommend it.

Three times earlier I visited Fattoria Santo Stefano. Two times (2007 and 2008) in Borgo I Laghi and the last time (2011) in Borgo La Casa. In 2011 Borgo La Casa was still in mint condition. Intact paintwork thoughout the estate, a beautiful outdoor pool with jacuzzi, everything perfectly maintained and spotlessly clean. The plants, the flowers and the lawn around the pool were maintained by a gardener on a daily basis. The apartment was cleaned every other day (monday, wednesday and friday) at the same time the beds were made up and the bath towels and pool towels were changed. Bed linen was changed on Wednesday and saturday. In short: service of the highest level!

I'm painfully aware that beauty is perishable, but in the years after 2011 there has been a change of management and now, 6 years later, in 2017, I am shocked by the serious degree of decay of the once impeccable Borgo La Casa. Under the previous management, only the best was good enough, the current management is apparently not at all interested in the maintenance that is inherent to an estate like Borgo La Casa.

For example: the once so beautiful jacuzzi (too much maintenance?) is now filled with sand and overgrown with weeds. A very saddening sight. In 2011 the lawn surrounding the pool was green, by 2017 it's completely dried out and dead. The stone edge around the pool is broken or torn in many places, as is the stone path around the pool. The plastic signs with house rules and depth indications are completely weathered and unreadable. The paint on the pool wall comes off, as is the paint on the accommodations in Borgo La Casa. The beautiful handlaid pebblestone path is overgrown with moss in many places. Half of the plants spread over the estate in beautiful terra cotta plant boxes are dead. Around the pool you'll find comfortable sunbeds, that is: if there were pillows, because the sunbeds themselves are made of weatherproof metal. In 2011 those pillows were present, but obviously, when they needed to be replaced, the management simply decided to get rid of them. After a complaint at the reception, we were bluntly informed, "we do not supply them," as if that were normal ... go shame yourself! Around the pool there's a beautiful authentic Tuscan loggia where you can sit in the shade if you had enough sunshine. In 2011 there was a tabletennis with tennisbats and balls and there were some toys for the kids. All gone now. The gardener I only saw once during the two weeks that I stayed in Borgo La Casa, and all he did was remove the leaves on the pebble stone path with a leaf blower and gone he was. The accommodations are no longer cleaned three times a week, but only once a week and at the same time the bed linen and pool towels are changed. The bath towels are changed only twice a week: wednesday and saturday. Each accommodation has an outside seating area with chairs and a table. Like the sunbeds these chairs are made of weatherproof metal, and also here the pillows (which were there in 2011) have disappeared. On the SP46, even the road sign to Fattoria Santo Stefano (that is already hard to find) is completely weathered and practically unreadable.

Don't get me wrong: Borgo La Casa is still a fine place for holidays and if you haven't been here before, it's probably less noticeable, but the current management has clearly decided not to invest a single eurocent in Borgo La Casa and that's very regrettable...
