Agriturismo Le Castellare is a stunning retreat in the Apennines. Run by Nadia and her parents, this charming spot offers well-appointed apartments with beautiful mountain views from the terrace. Nadia, an expert mountain guide, provides excellent advice for daily hikes. The delicious breakfast, served in a communal room, fosters a friendly atmosphere among guests. Ask for a picnic, and Nadia's mother will prepare a sandwich with the most amazing Italian ham you’ve ever tasted. Everything you eat is homemade and Nadia’s honey tastes of the wild flowers surrounding the house. The peaceful setting ensures you'll wake up only to the sound of singing birds.

A beautiful place

We had the most wonderful stay at Le Castellare. Nadia & her family are so welcoming. We can only encourage you to stay here, the accommodation is charming, the views are stunning, the surrounding area is full of breathtaking natural beauty. Breakfast is delicious & all home produced by the family.
We knew there are wild orchids in the area & with Nadia’s help we found new varieties to add to our list. The wildflower meadows stretch for miles…..absolutely stunning.
This area is full of unspoilt charm. It was difficult to leave such a beautiful place but we will return to explore next year & with Nadia’s help we will discover more amazing places in the heart of the Sibillini Mountains.

A warm welcome in a wildflower paradise

My husband, my three boys 12, 17 + 20 and I where hosted by Nadia at an apartment at Le Castellare for two nights. This is a magical part of the world and out trip. Nadia and her parents are delightful and impressive people. The walks directly from the house are spectacular, bursting with wild flowers and magnificent mountains filled with stories. Nadia guided us on one hike sharing stories and details of the mountains and their flora. The home made sausages and cakes she and her parents made where a wonderful nourishing treat for us all at the end of our travels through Italy. The local restaurants where delicious that along with the small towns felt like true Italy without tourist.  We will be back.

Mountain Walks Bursting with Wildflowers

We have been to Italy many times but this was our first visit to the Eastern part of the Parco dei Sibillini. The farmhouse is situated in a breathtakingly beautiful area and the apartments were re-built after the devastating 2016 earthquakes. They are comfortable and well-equipped. We stayed 8 nights and Nadia and her parents were fantastic hosts. They were warm, gracious and very knowledgable about the area and activities. Nadia knows the park trails well and had good suggestions for us. She also steered us to a local festa celebrating autumn foods and a fascinating sheep farm where the sheep are raised for wool and their shepherds are dogs (Fattoria La Rocca). Her parents went out of their way to help us with a problem with our rental care. We had a wonderful week and hope to return.

Gorgeous setting with warm, hospitable, knowledgable hosts

As an American having his first experience at an Italian agriturismo, I wasn’t sure what I would encounter.  I had high expectations — I was going to be in the mountains, I was expecting the experience to be peaceful (that’s what all the online articles said), and inspiring (that’s what I hoped).  

Nadia and her family at Le Castellare exceeded my expectations.  The room was impeccably clean, communication with Nadia and her family (my hosts) was easy.  The grounds were peaceful, and perfect for an afternoon aperitif or a sunset walk.  Additionally, Nadia was able to direct me to all the sites, recommend precautions (they are mountains after all), and even guided those of us staying on the property to the local gorge.  

Le Castellare is well-positioned geographically as well:  Mount Sibylla and The Gorges of Hell (Golle dell’Infernaccio) are close-by.  It’s close to local towns.  From its vantage point, a traveler can see half a dozen mountain villages, an inspiring view of Le Marche. 

Still, Le Castellare’s greatest value is the warmth a traveler feels calling this place home for a time.

Great location.  Easy communication.  Peace.  And Inspiration.

Absolutely marvellous place

In the heart of the Monti Sibillini you’ll find this lovely house, where I returned in March after a 1st visit in 2014 and a short passage in 2017. I highly recommend this place for its location, the beautiful nature, the accommodation and mist of all the kindest family who owns this Agriturismo. So if you want to spend time in an unspoiled area, love nature and hiking... go there, you will love it!


A friend and myself spent a lovely week here. Clean air, peace and good food. A visit to Castelluccio during the fioritura is a must. The 8th wonder of the world.

Apartment was spacious and clean although a larger sofa and some garden furniture for the balconies might be an idea. Nadia and her parents are lovely people. The garden and animals are well kept and impeccably clean.

Montemonaco has great views and interesting to walk around.

There are interesting walks and hikes for those who want to explore further.

I will definitely be back to stay 

Loving Le Marche

Spent a week here with a friend with breathing problems. We have met Nadia and her family before. Beautiful people.

Each day we planned a visit to a local spot to enjoy the sunshine, breathtaking views and delicious food.

There are also many good walking trails for those who wish to explore the glacial Lago di Pilato and visit the Gola dell'Infernaccio.

Le Castellare itself is well kept and clean. The vegetable patch and home raised animals impeccably organised and tended with love. The donkeys in the field outside the kitch window were fabulous.

My friend's breathing improved a great deal. There are fireflies which means there is no pollution.

I'd love to go back, maybe a little later in July to see the fields of sunflowers and poppies in full bloom

An absolute must is a visit to Castelluccio di Norcia in the heart of the earthquake zone. To see the fioritura. The valley is awash with colour from flowering lentil plants. Colours that a truly stunning, as far as the eye can see.

Just breath taking. And good to support the local community in roadside restaurants helping in Risorge Marche recovery plan. 

We shall definitely be back Nadia ❤

Peaceful Interlude in the Sibillini mountains

We came to le Castellare after 28 km of hiking. We were welcomed by the most loving family. So kind and sweet. A paradise on earth was revealed. Its just outstanding place to spend the days - where culture, language, the nature, the mountains, love and understanding collides in the most beautiful way.
