Had a lovely stay here for a night in Naples, perfect location to be in, Pina couldn’t of been more welcoming/kind - super clean room and kitchen area, added with the authentic Italian entrance made for a perfect place to stay! Would recommend 10/10

Perfect stay

Our third visit to Napoli but our first stay with Pina and her family. Not to be missed if your looking for a well priced extremely well located bed in Naples. We were warmly welcomed by Pina and her family. The room very clean and with everything you need. Be sure to stay!

Great Value and friendly 

This little b&b niched on top of the quartieri spagnoli just between the Via Toledo and the Fonicolare of Montesanto is a true haven of napolitan hospitality and lifestyle. We stayed for four days there with my girlfriend and we couldn't think of a better place to enjoy Napoli. The whole family has been so kind and welcoming to us that we felt like being at home! When we would get up in the morning, a delicious breakfast would always be prepared and Giuseppina would buy fresh pastries for us every morning or even cook them herself (the best amaretti and cornetti I ate so far!). She and her husband Franco gave us good adresses and helped us organise our visits for the best. Our room was so charming and furnished with taste. The b&b is perfectly situated in the heart of the quartieri spagnoli which is so lively and authentic. Plus it is just between the station Toledo of line A and Montesanto of line B so you can easily take the metro to go anywhere you like or take the Fonicolare for the castel St Elmo or the Museo San Martino. The historic center itself is just at a ten minute walk. We will definitely come back and we might even meet with Giuseppina in Paris this summer. Casa Avallone is a little gem and I doubt it will stay a secret for long. Don't think hip and classy hotel, think cosy, charming, and authentic hideout in beautiful Napoli! See you soon Giuseppina!

A delight

Recommendation here for everybody looking for acommodation for reasonable price, great location and friendly host who let you feel like at home-away-from-home. Sadly we had to leave after only two days, because we get small room with very small bed, so book in advance!

Very friendly

Our family spent 4 nights in Casa Avallone, using it as a very convenient base for day trips to Pompei and Herculano.  We appreciated the friendliness of Pima who runs the B&B.  She greeted us with hugs, her husband walked us to the nearby Metro station the next morning and made certain we purchased the right tickets for our travels around the area.  Pima and her husband live in the apartment just downstairs from the B&B, so we always felt we could knock on their door with a question or small request.  Each evening Pima consulted us about breakfast times for the following morning.  She was flexible about serving times.  The coffee was excellent.  On 3 of the 4 mornings, Pima brought us fresh pastries or cakes to supplement the packaged sweet rolls, cold cereal and canned juice.  I felt that Pima was really looking out for us.  She was horrified to see me leaving the B&B one morning with a shoulder bag.  She insisted that it wasn't safe for me to walk around Naples like this even in daylight.  She told me have my husband keep all the money in a zipped pocket on the inside of his coat.  Then she lent me an inconspicuous shopping bag so that I could carry our guide books, gloves and scarves around with us for the day.  Our family occupied two of the three bedrooms.  Both rooms were cheerfully decorated, decent-sized and clean.  One of our rooms faced the garden and was extremely quiet.  The other room faced the street and was quite noisy (despite the closed window), with car and motorcycle traffic at all hours.   The B&B has its own kitchen, and guests are welcome to use it.  We did not prepare meals there, but did use the stove to heat milk for our morning coffee.  Pima and her husband speak very little English.  My rudimentary Spanish was helpful, as was our Italian dictionary and lots of good will.  The remaining B&B guest spoke some English, and was kind enough to interpret when needed.   I wish I could give Casa Avallone 5 stars.  The real drawback of the place is the lack of hot water.  After letting the tap run for about 2-3 minutes, you could count on several minutes of very hot water.  This was enough to take a quick shower, but not enough for any member of our family to wash their hair, even if we turned off the water while lathering our heads.  When we mentioned this problem to Pima she suggested that we be certain that no one else was running hot water when one of us wanted to shower.  We were scrupulous about this, as was the remaining B&B guest.  It made no difference.  In fact, the other B&B guest who had been staying at Casa Avallone for some months, confirmed that there had been a continual problem with hot water.  Because of the hot water problem, I would be unlikely to stay at Casa Avallone again -- unless it were for just one night.   I really hope that Casa Avallone can do something about the hot water problem – it would make a big difference to ensuring that comfort of future guests.   Also, I would advise Pima to ditch the packaged breakfast goods and stick with fresh bakery products.  Fresh fruit would be nice as well (which is what we had in our other B&Bs in Italy.)

Friendly hosts, good location, hot water shortage.

I spent a few wonderful days in Casa Avellone and was so happy about the choice! Wonderful people, so hospitable, I felt like at home. Clean and nicely decorated rooms, good location (Near metro Monte Santo) in historic centre. So interesting to see real life of Naples and its people in the area. Highly recommend it!
