This is a gorgeous location just outside of the hilltop of Orvieto.  The room and bath were large and comfortable, with a garden view, and nicely decorated. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of food. The family that runs it was friendly and kind.  I chose this place for the pool and hot tub, but it was closed on Oct. 6. You really do need a car to stay here as it is not a doable walk to Orvieto- the road has no path and is dangerous. 
What could be improved, the pillows and mattress could have been more comfortable and there were no screens on the windows, so a choice of fresh air with mosquitoes or using the air conditioning- not terribly eco friendly. Not having any food options at the hotel in the evening( dinner was not available in October)meant that you had to get in the car every night to go eat.

This is a small farmhouse, only five rooms, but it has everything you would want for a nice, relaxing, even romantic holiday. Great views from the gardens,  quiet, comfortable, air-conditioned rooms with modern en-suites, a lovely small swimming pool with plenty of loungers and hammocks in the shade of olive trees. And a lovely breakfast buffet served in the garden under more trees. 
For us, the icing on the cake was the wonderful landlady, Valentina, and her daughter. When our car broke down and we were stuck for two days, not only did they take over the negotiations with the car-hire firm and the break-down service, but they also went over-and-above their duties in providing us with a delicious supper when we couldn't get ourselves easily to a restaurant.

A charming farmhouse B&B

I've booked 4 nights at B&B Podere Pescara, 2 months before our arrival to Italy, this was for my wife and myself, everything looked promising, a romantic vacation, in a pastoral area next to Orvieto. This was a part of a longer trip in Italy. When we arrived to the place they told us that the room we've booked was not available anymore, and since they have no available rooms, they moved us to a different hotel not far on the highway, when we got to the other hotel we have realised the disaster, it was noisy, not clean and the size of the room was less than 10sqm about 110 feet! the size of the room was so small that I kept most of my things in the car! it was hard to believe. From reading other reviews I can see that this is not a one-time event, but a systematic pattern of action. My wife always says that you can not win all the time, and I tend to agree with her, but unfortunately this was intentional.
Do yourself a favor and look for another place.



Look for something else!

What a beautiful place we found a few minutes from old Orvieto. Clean, well appointed rooms with accommodating owners . They are so nice and attentive,  wanting to take care of you in case of any needs. We were very pleased and would come back to stay here anytime.

Great Place

“Our room was very comfortable.  The common area was very beautiful and relaxing. The grounds were spacious and included a swimming pool. The breakfast was excellent, with pastries, meats, fresh fruits and juices and delicious cheese omelet.  The location is perfect for visiting old town Orvieto and we were given tips about where to park for one euro all day.  Our GPS was confused about the address of the B&B it turned out to be quite a bit down the hill from the GPS directions.The hostess was on vacation but we received excellent information from the other folks in charge”

Beautiful Country Estate

Room: Clean, simple and spacious room and bathroom. A bit loud air-condition. No refrigerator. All in all, positive experience.   

Breakfast: There are just 4 rooms so buffet wasn't so large. There was a lot of cakes, maybe 50 percent of the buffet. Breakfast has therefore limited options. Everything was fresh. Breakfast area was nice and it was possible to eat outside.

Location: This B&B is located around 15-20 minutes (by foot) from Orvieto if you take the shortcut. Great view from the garden over nearby hills. 

Personnel: They were all kind and helpful. No complains.

Overall experience: Free parking, pool and nice garden. I got offer to eat dinner in the B&B, the menu looked good and prices were reasonable. There was a mosquito net in the doors so it was possible to switch off the air-condition and sleep with doors open. That was very pleasant especially the sounds made of beetles and grasshoppers, even the nearby high speed train which made some noise was OK. What wasn't OK, was the dog which was yapping and barking. It was especially annoying since the dog barked 1 hour room 22:30 to 23:30. Normal people want to rest or sleep since they have vacations and not hear such madness. In addition, the same dog started to bark 8:00 am following morning. Simply unacceptable.  

Price/what you get: Around 170 EUR for 2 nights is OK.

In my mind cakes section should be smaller and replaced by other food. Refrigerator would be great. These two things are minor issues. The largest issue is the noisy dog.

We booked this hotel and then after arriving at night at the locked gate we rang the bell. The woman told us they were closed. Um HOW could you be closed if you are accepting bookings. They were rude and did NOTHING for us and it was nighttime. They did not offer to help us call another place nothing. Absolutely disgusting service. Dont stay here

This hotel over-books their rooms and turned us away claiming to be closed. We called our credit card company to flag the hotel for fraudulent activity. Worst customer service-- they only spoke to us over an intercom even though we were paying guests! Awful!!

Such a lovely and warm home located very close to Orvieto. 
Orvieto was our 1st stop on our  3 week Tuscany road trip. We were so happy we booked at this place. Valentina, her husband and daughter were the sweetest and kindest hosts ever. The B&B is off the main road to Orvieto, but the drive you take to reach the home leads you to what feels like an oasis of peace. The greenery and the beautiful scenery and the fantastic view that go on forever is breathtaking.
Valentina gave us great recommendation on where to dine and how to get to the city and where to park.  The room we stayed in was actually like a little apt. with 2 bedrooms a bathroom and a sitting room. We even had our own private entry to enter and exit our room. Breakfast each morning was a sheer delight, so many choices of hot food, breads, sweets, cheese, meats and the best orange juice. I've ever had. We only stayed for two nights but I could have easily stayed a week. This would be a perfect base to stay and venture out from here. Valentina had shared many lovely stories which I could've just sat and listened to her for hours. She was like sitting with a really good long time girlfriend.  I would love to go back and attend one of her friends cooking classes, that is on my bucket list! The place is very clean and kept up very well.

Perfect Tuscan Farmhouse

We had a large room upstairs that had character which we liked. The best room to go for is the deluxe room on the ground floor with its own terrace.  Valentina and her husband are lovely people and make you feel most welcome.  Breakfast is a delightful feast.  It was raining the whole time we were in Orvieto but it is a lovely town with a long history on top of a hill and well worth a visit. Would stay again here.

Not luxurious but a quaint house of character ; great breakfast and truly nice owners
