Everything amazing from the location to the room, staff and breakfast...also a super view over the harbour  and coast. Everything clean and pristine, comfy bed, fantastic high  terrace and a simply amazing breakfast. Positioned within 2 - 10 minutes of anything you might need. Super helpful  and friendly  staff, really exceptional. Quiet during  our visit (early April) but believe Ortranto could be  busy (noisy ?) during June - August.

Wonderful Experience...Incredible Location, Delightful  Staff, Fantatsic Views

We stayed for 3 nights in Otranto at this cute little boutique hotel. The place was spotlessly clean, the staff were most welcoming, we had a lovely room overlooking the marina. We enjoyed exploring the restaurants and bars in Otranto all within metres of the hotel.

Fabulous location

I stayed at Palazzo de Mori, in Otranto in April 2023. I only stayed for one night, and wish I had stayed longer. 

I corresponded with Sergio when I was selecting this hotel, and he was very helpful and informative. 

The gentleman that greeted me and checked me in was particularly professional, efficient, and friendly. I felt comfortable from arrival through checkout. 

I had a fantastic room, with a wonderful view looking out over the Marina. I was on a bicycle tour around Puglia, and they were very welcoming. I was able to park my bicycle in their secure courtyard overnight. My room was perfect. It was clean, comfortable, and well appointed. It had all the things a traveler could expect. 

The breakfast was wonderful, and served on a beautiful terrace overlooking the marina. The ladies that served the breakfast greeted me with warm smiles, and brought delicious coffee. I would not hesitate in recommending Palazzo de Mori, or staying there again. My only regret was that I only stayed one night. If I had known how nice it was I would have shortened a stay someplace else, and stayed another day in Otranto.

I Highly Recommend

We liked this place! Of course you can't drive in front of the door with your car, but then that's most often the case if you stay in this kind of old town. But everything can easily be reached by foot.
We got a very friendly welcome by Matteo upon arrival and could use our room already before the official check-in time (during an off-season period), which we appreciated a lot.
The room was beautifully decorated with enough space and a good-size bathroom and shower.
At breakfast there was a very nice buffet with lots of choices and some quality cheese and meat. Unfortunately, at the time of our visit it was too cold to sit outside on the terrace with a terrific view on the harbor.
Otranto is a beautiful city and worth a visit, if only for the incredible mosaic at the cathedral. We would certainly choose Palazzo de Mori again.
Just to note, it is clearly a (high-class) B&B and not a 4* hotel as marked on Google.

An excellent choice if you want to stay in the old town of Otranto

Nicely restored ancient building in a beautiful location in front of the sea.
Unfotunately the service is poor, the reception and treatment are very unfriendly.
Moreover the reserved car park ( a grass field) is 15 minutes walk from the hotel.

Beauty is not enough

Outstanding 4-day stay at Palazzo de Mori: very attentive and helpful staff (including great restaurant suggestions), fantastic view from the terrace (amazing particularly at sunset) and great breakfast (especially the homemade cakes). Highly recommended

Priceless view from the terrace

We have spent a lovely 3 days here. Our suite which is located next to the reception desk was beautiful and very relaxing. The terrace overlooking the marina is beautiful where we had a lovely breakfast. The staff couldn’t be more helpful and obliging. Don’t stay in the room leading on to the street - it is far below the standard of the other rooms. 

Wonderful stay 

We were very disappointed with our stay at palazzo di Mori. The staff was very cold and not attentive whatsoever. They made us feel very unwelcome in general. First of all, as a warning, the hotel is not practical for large suitcases. And they do not give you the gate code to enter the building when you book. As there is no intercom make sure to ask for the code before you arrive. We had even called that morning to confirm our arrival time and they didn’t bother to give us the code...so we had the pleasure of standing outside in the heat waiting for someone to come out of the building. We decided to choose this hotel because the description on the site said the room had ‘sea views’. This was not true at all the only views we had was of the building in front of us. The room was very large and clean, but all white, terribly sterile, and outdated. It reminded us of a hospital room. We also didn’t have good WiFi connection in our room which was very inconvenient. The outside terrace is the only nice thing about the place. The breakfast was really horrible. There are only 3 tables available in the shade, all of the others are directly in the sunlight. They only offer 3 time slots for breakfast and have limited choices. Everything was packaged, even the bread was not fresh. The coffee was cold and the service unfriendly. They do give a parking pass which is nice, but then they expect you to bring it back for your 20€ deposit. So in the end you have to haul your bags down to your car and then hike back up to the hotel to give the pass back. Not practical at all especially with their location in the ‘Centro storico’. All in all probably one of our least favorite experiences as well as most expensive during our time in the region. All in all a horrible value for the price.

Palazzo de Mori

We spent 3  nights at the Palazzo Di Mori staying in the room 'Pier' view of the water & castle.  The palazzo occupies the best place in town & the view from the terrace is stunning.  Guests are free to enjoy the terrace at any time including during the lovely buffet breakfast.  Our room was a little disappointing.  The rooms are decorated in white and our fabric bead head was also covered in a white fabric with two large, greasy, yellowed stains from past clients heads resting up against it- yuk!.  I covered my side with a towel but it was not a good start.  The bathroom is very small & its hard to exit the shower without skimming the toilet.  The amenities are too basic- one ordinary cake of soap & a cheap shampoo bottle fixed to the shower wall.  The palazzo is clearly a business reflected in the 2 euro charge for a beach towel & the extra charge for a 3rd coffee at breakfast.  It lacked the Italian spirit of generosity & hospitality,  which we had enjoyed everywhere else.   The staff were not as friendly as other BnBs & it was very noticeable.  All easy fixes, so hopefully they will read the review & return this gorgeous old Lady back to the best place in town.

Tired gracious old Lady of Otranto

Maybe because we were just up north in Milano for too long, but coming here was such a pleasant change.  The room is neat and beautifully decorated just like the reception area.  I guess it is the superior deluxe double room on the first floor with a balcony & view of the harbor & castle.  The bathroom is very functional.  The room is right off the reception area and main balcony.  I like the medieval looking entrance area with the iron gates, stone and old doors.  Getting your luggage to the room is not difficult if you are smart enough to travel light.  The walk from the closest place to drop luggage is about 100-200 feet but up and down a few steps.  The breakfast was very well done with a variety of choices.  We were there in mid-March and it was cold, windy and a little rain.  We loved it!
