Great food.  Comfortable bed.  Lovely pool.  Wonderful staff.  There's not much more we could had asked for.  This was the perfect way to start our 4 week vacation.  After an overseas flight we checked in and were looked after for three nights before we hit the road !  

Perfect to unwind and simply relax

We received a warm welcome at the reception wij clear information. The rooms are cosy and all have a private terrace. They are clean. The restaurant is very good. Complements to the chef and table waiters. In the morning there is an extensive breakfast for everyone’s taste. Although not a typical farm Masseria, we can certainly recommend it, and do also enjoy the restaurant.

Nice rooms, very service minded, good restaurant

We had a great time at Masseria L'Uliveto. It is conveniently located within a 20 to 25-minute walk of central Otranto.
It is a beautiful, Spanish-style masseria & the rooms are gorgeous with rich woods & beam work, white walls & tasteful splashes of color. You have such privacy with almost your own villa & it's very relaxing to wander around the grounds. There's a garden & many animals-- including horses, goats, ducks, turkeys & chicken. I mentioned that they should highlight this more on the website as it's a huge hit for children. There's also a ping pong table & foosball table, which is additional fun for families!
The breakfast is outstanding, you really cannot ask for more. They have cakes & brioche/croissants, cantucci, hard-boiled eggs, cheeses, meats, fruits, vegetables, all kinds of juices.
The staff are friendly & helpful.
The only issue we encountered is that the wi-fi would not work in our room for my iPhone or our Android phones. The team tried & tried to help us, but we had no luck & this was a little frustrating as I needed access to my phone.
Otherwise, it was a very special place in an ideal location; we'd happily return again.

Stunning, Spanish-style masseria, fun for kids too with lots of animals & games!

Had a fabulous stay at this lovely Masseria.  The staff, food and facilities were exceptional. The cleanliness of the bedrooms in the current situation were fantastic. Will definitely  return as soon as we can!

Amazing Stay

I had booked a room in this accommodation and had to cancel for personnel reasons. 
I wanted to cancel five days after the official free cancellation of booking.com so I asked the owner if he could make an exception and refund part of the booking. 
At the beginning he said no and then said ok to refund 20 out of the 120€. 

Now that I have cancelled the booking and paid automatically 120€ via booking I am told by the owner that they will not refund anything. Apparently that is because they asked to cancel the booking before a certain date. I checked the exchange of e-mails and no deadline has been mentioned.

The best place we stayed during our Puglia roadtrip. 10 minutes from Otranto, naar the highway but you dont hear that! Beautifull garden, swimmingpool area with bar, lovely breakfast and dinner and what a roomhospitality! Our clothes folded everyday!

Beautifull garden, swimmingpool area, excellent food!

This amazing boutique "masseria" hotel made our Puglia trip even more enjoyable. Rustic rooms but with new decor and perfectly clean, hidden behind olive trees. Relaxing pool with sunset view.  Delicioua breakfast. Staff was extremely nice and helpful.  Location was just perfect, away from any noise but within just a few minutes drive to Otranto center and beaches. We normally don't leave reviews but this beautiful hotel deserved one. Strongly recommended

The perfect Puglia experience

The grounds of this Masseria are beautiful set amongst Olive grooves. Very conveniently located just outside Otranto. We were made very welcome by the owner who doesn't speak much english but we laughed and muddled by. We had booked 2 rooms which were a nice size and typically decorated for the type of hotel. Bathrooms modern. The pool looked stunning but we were slightly out of season so only sat by it once.We decided to eat at the hotel in the evening as we had travelled quite a bit. The dining room is very rustic and just what we enjoy. We were handed menus in Italian and obviously had to spend some time translating a few things on there. The waitress (who we think was the owners wife) was extremely impatient with us and only initially gave us less than 5 mins before asking us had we made a choice. She tutted and sighed and slammed her pad down on the dresser next to us when we asked for more time. She walked round the restaurant wrapping her arms round her cardigan as though it was artic weather. She was surly and made our meal very uncomfortable and she was too eager to pack us up. Some of the food was luke warm and we sent back the coffee as its was stone cold. Again being tutted at! She ruined our evening. The breakfast the next day was very good and the gentleman helping with breakfast was very nice and the coffee was hot! We were relieved it wasnt the lady again. The meal experience wouldn't put us off booking again but we would eat in the restaurant again.

2 night stopover

We arrived about 11.00 at night and were very pleased to find that it was no problem to have a meal at that time. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Masseria is set in olive groves and has a lovely pool. Our room or “bungalow” is finished to a high standard with fabulous bathroom and walk-in shower. It’s a peaceful and very relaxing place to stay. 

A beautiful place to stay

Phoned 6 months before and asked if room big enough for a family. Spoke in German as owner did not speak English. Arrived in August to dark squashed double room with two extra beds in it. Owner belligerent said he had no recollection of our conversation, angered when I said it was awful and I wasn’t happy, snatched keys from my hand. 

The air con was dripping on my son’s bed. The son of the owner tried to move us to another room, his father the owner was having none of this. 

We complained to booking.com to no avail. Left after one night with no sleep. Owner still charged ya for 2 nights - he said he wouldn’t charge us for the children. He lied. 

Why have people reviewed this place so favourably? It’s basic , near a motorway, nothing special. You have to walk down the motorway to go to Otranto - the rooms are basic. No toiletries - good motorway stop for a couple. We came back late at night and had to get sheets on my son’s bed changed as they were soaked because of the air con dripping on it - I slept in this bed in the end as my son is asthmatic and it wouldn’t have been good for him to sleep in a damp bed.

We had no sleep and were charged 344 euros for 2 nights - Gave up arguing with the owner - aggressive and rude. 

Really there are much nicer places in much nicer locations than this. Don’t bother !
