We visited Palermo for a few days at the beginning of June.  It was an absolute delight staying in this hostel - a blissful relief to return there each evening after the hustle and bustle of the city.  The view is breathtaking, and it's only 1 minute's walk to dive into the beautiful clear water of the bay.  The gardens of the hostel are lovely - very well cared for.

Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.  Unfortunately no kitchen, but lots of choices of restaurants at the nearby small town of Sferracavallo, about 10 minute's walk away.

It was a bit of a trek into Palermo by bus.  I would perhaps suggest relaxing at the hostel for a few days once you've finished exploring the city.  The location of this hostel really is something very special.

It's a lovely place ,quiet and a 10 minute to walk to the center of sferracavallo...
By bus 30 minutes to Palermo center
They have nice Bungalows and it is right in the marvellous beach  " baia del corallo "

Vacanza

I stayed the last full weekend in February with a friend. We stayed in one of the 4 person bugalows. It was perfect for the 2 of us (might have been cramped with 4 people), but for the price it was great. The compound is nice, with the greenery and walkways down to the water. It was too cold to take advantage of in February, but I bet in the summer, it would be amazing. The heat worked in the bungalow and the showers and facilities were all very clean. One drawback, if you don't like cats, there are a lot on the property. They didn't bother me, and I assume they cut down on vermin, just a point of fact. The two best things were the location and the receptionist. Located in Sferracavallo outside of Palermo, it was a nice feeling of getaway but also close to the city via bus. Reception sold all day bus passes for less than 4 euros. Our receptionist was great. He took the time to talk to us about where to go in Sferracavallo for a delicious seafood meal. He was an all around helpful and pleasant person. We both enjoyed our time. 
***One hint: to get to the hostel, the bus number listed is correct. You will stay on that bus until the last stop, which looks like a turn around area up the road from the main part of town. You will see a sign for a pizza place and a green metal gate on the side of the street closer to the water (past the coast guard going back towards town). When you get closer, you will see a button for reception and signs for the hostel, but its hard to catch at first. I will say, for southern Italy, I am impressed that the buses run on time.

Fun Weekend Trip

The place is stunning! Great view, great location, great people (staff is friendly and helpful). Sure, you can always improve something, but when you start with these basics... you cannot get wrong. And for the ridicolous price you pay... it's a robbery but where you are the one holding the gun :) The main lobby, where WiFi and TV and couch are, is like the family room we all dream about. Super view of the Sferracavallo bay (with Capo Gallo as a background) and the beach right there (literally). My wife and I had a private room, with shower and everything (A/C included). The best part was the terrace, since Sicilian weather encourages you to spend time outside (dining, reading, chatting...). The hostel is super cheap and has a parking lot you can take advantage of for 3 extra euros. The bus that links to Palermo stops less than 50 meters from here (although connection time to the city is not always predictable) and airport is few miles away. Great for: romantic gateways and family reunions.

This place it was a great spot to enjoy 3 relaxing days in this area. Fully surrounded by nature in terms of view and also sounds. Great and friendly hosts. Clean and comfy privet room with a superb balcony and view. Access to the shore and lounge area available. Highly recommended!
