Magical quiet B&B located near Pantelleria village, with a top view. Christian and Astrid are lovely and will make sure you experience the island at its best. They are friendly and proactive, ready to meet every need or answer any question you may have. The structure is divided in dammusi where relax and a nice view are accessible in just few steps. The dammuso itself is clean with airco and mosquito nets. The common spaces are friendly and usable 24/7. If you wish to have dinner there just ask and Christian will cook the perfect "pantesco" meal. The structure is suitable for families as well as for friends. Definetly to go if you want to have a pantesco experience, outside the usual common touristic routes. A special mention to the cat Nina who cheered us up during our stay.

Beautiful B&B with a top view

Ihla Preta is arguably the best bed & breakfast inn on the Island of Pantelleria.  Although reasonably secluded, it is located a short walk from Pantelleria Center and the shoreline as well as a 10-minute drive from the island's airport.  The inn is a beautiful collection of dammusi constructed in the local tradition with volcanic rock.  Framed in a lush landscaping, the verdant grounds give the Ihla Preta its real charm.  With that said, the forte of this establishment is its service.  Cristian and Astrid are very attentive to their guests' every need and request.  Cristian, an aspiring chef, crafts the most delectable croissants (cornetti).  We looked forward to breakfast every morning.  A pleasant surprise during our stay was trekking up the island's tallest peak.  This served to be one of the highlights of Pantelleria.

Relaxing Mediterranean Getaway

The B&B has friendly, helpful staff that always went one step further to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The location is quiet location with plenty of outdoor space to relax and enjoy the climate. The breakfast is abundant and of good quality. Best value for money on the island.

Great B&B for relaxing

Ilha Preta, feels like being at a friend's house when a friend doesn't want anyone around. Only that you are paying....if you are just after a bed to sleep, you'll be fine. Otherwise, the island of Pantelleria is beautifully magic.

Poorly run

This is a lovely set of buildings, set in large, delightful gardens with olive trees, flowering shrubs, cacti (and a bevy of cats and dogs). Our friendly, helpful hosts contacted us before we arrived, arranged to meet us at the airport and negotiated a substantial reduction on a car rental. Our room was large and opened onto a large (shared) terrace. We were given keys to the place and advised to treat it as our  own, to come and go as we pleased. All very positive. 

It soon became obvious that, without some care, you would be prone to mosquito attack. I got bitten several times and killed about a dozen mozzies - our hosts provided a killer device, which seemed effective. Wifi worked in the communal lounge, but not in the bedroom.

I would have given it a higher rating, but there were some downsides. First, the location was a bit of a disappointment. It turned out that there was no shop, cafe, bar, restaurant, beach within reasonable walking distance - you needed a car to do anything. Second, bearing in mind the distance from resources, we were offered no welcome drink, nor welcome pack and so had to set off for the shops to get any drinks or food. Third, there was no fridge in the room (although, when we asked, we were told that we could make use of their fridge) and no means of making your own meals on site.  Fourth, on the day we left, our hosts (without telling us) had disappeared off to press some olives and so were not around to say goodbye - which seemed a bit cavalier. 

As I said, this b&b has a lot going for it: if you like an informal, easy-going place and go in there with eyes wide open, happy to take a car to get everything from the outset, it will appeal.
