This property exists only as a ruin, it's empty and it grows everywhere and inside it looks deserted and uninhabitable. There's nothing to see or even notice from hotel or restaurant operations. The entrance looks unused for a long time. The entrance lamps are partly broken down

Unfortunately, it's just an uninhabited ruin.

A secluded agriturismo, with many holes in the unpaved street, in the middle of olive trees, cypresses and vines. A sensational sunset from the veranda. Old walls but stylishly Tuscan. From the few dining tables you can look directly into the open, small kitchen. The host comes up in short pants and poloshirt authentically. His cook, right hand and sympathetic virtuosine bring eyes to the ray. The food is typically Tuscan, crispy, simple, delicious with strong spices. The own comes in the open bottle on the table. One pays a flat rate. At 25 euros. Even if the bottle per person had been empty, we would not have been paid more. We would have tasted authentic red wine without an authentic Tuscan taste.

True Tuscan Food

We came here 1year ago and had a fabulous meal......we didn't manage to get back here in June.....but are so pleased we did last night.......we had a multicourse meal for €30 per head including wine and water........great value......now this wasn't fine dining but it was fabulous......in a lovely Tenuta.....my wife and I and 3large dogs spent a lovely evening over a super 5 course meal.....we started with a most wonderful foccata and antipasto of a very flavoursome salami and prosciutto crudo...then a beautiful spinach and cheese baked thing..mmmmmmmmmm........the most delicious ravioli with a meat stuffing in oil and sage .......a roasted smoked cheese with pink peppercorns.......wild boar and rabbit with potatoes  al forno.....and thank god finally the lightest of panna cotta with a caramel sauce washed down with coffee......the wine was a very acceptable Sangiovese....we managed a good litre......?.....and a couple of litres of aqua frizante.......IM GOING TO REPEAT........ALL FOR €30........Would I go back tomorrow? You bet.......this is not the easiest place to find.......drive through montolopio and keep going ...hold your nerve on the dirt track till you can go no further........wonderful.wonderful...wonderful...

Simple food well done

Ten days after our departure from the Tenuta Serravalle farmhouse, I still dream of it. I, Kris M, 44 years old and a city girl, would like nothing more than to spend a good part of the year in this enchanting natural environment.

A first experience of rest with an eye-losing nature succeeded!

We had dinner with friends who already knew the place. Excellent service, the owner is an exquisite person. Excellent dishes and very well presented. The atmosphere is very characteristic and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming thanks to the furnishings and especially to the music of the 60s that comes from that magic touch.

It's lovely.

Little lost place, you'll have to travel about 3km of rocky road to get there. We didn't stay but just had dinner at night. When you arrive, you're warmly welcomed by the boss and enjoy the beautiful view. Then it's the deep Italian cuisine that lands in your plate. The boss makes you a series of antipasties and dishes that are better than the others so you never tire! All for 30€ per person including wine, price ratio unbeatable! Everything was so simple but so delicious that we returned the next day, despite the 55km that would separate us from the place.

Italy as we love it

It is our refuge. A corner of paradise that wants to remain such, where to appreciate a classic Tuscan cuisine and where the genuineness and seasonality of raw materials dictates the rules. Here you come only to let yourself be cuddled by the rhythm of nature, by its explosion of smells, flavors, colors. Here you do not have to ask, here you have to listen and let yourself be transported and accompanied by the charismatic, Istrian Mr. Paolo. Today we have spent a Ferragosto between excellent food and excellent company...between chatter and the inexhaustible, ethereal celtic music of the background that is lost along the hill and its vines. Here you come for this, if you look for another... one will soon feel your lack.

A perfect shelter.

A guest room that on paper seems nice. In fact, it's an out-of-the-age bed that's reserved for you for a horrible night (before you cancel your stay), dinner is 30 euros worth 15 maxi (local produce but more than basic cuisine).

Nice Location with beautiful view.
Otherwise MOST disappointing: Room very small without anemnities, appliances broken, bed awful, bathroom from 1960 including the grime, breakfast (included) was a joke on burned bread, swimmingpool green and dirty, furniture partly broken.
NOT recommended at 140,- Euros a night !!! Thanx Paolo.

Left after just one night

We came here with 10 other members of our family as we were married on the weekend in Volterra and wanted somewhere to kick back and relax. And boy can you do that here.

We arrived late lunchtime and were greeted by Paulo (who was indeed eating his own lunch with a friend but quickly abandoned it) who proceeded to show us to our rooms (& 2 apartments). Immediately we were offered local wines (which are fantastic) and a sit down on the veranda overlooking the beautiful vineyards and the stunning countryside and valley. We were then given a delicious tomato, olive, tuna and onion salad with meats and breads as an unexpected lunch which was a lovely touch by Paulo.

The pool is quiet and there are plenty of beds for guests. It really is very beautify there.

The highlight was dinner, cooked by Paulo. He explained that all foods are grown on his land and he rears all the animals as well. He cooks whatever is in season and is plentiful. We ate a fabulous meal of various bruschetta, crostini, baked cheese, a choice of truffle, tomato & basil or ragu pastas, the meat course was an amazing pork - the best I've eaten in Italy actually. And then dessert which was zabaglione. 

We slept really well, rooms are large and beds comfortable.

We sadly had to leave the next morning as we were off on a "minimoon" and left our family there. With hindsight we should have stayed.

Thank you Tenuta Serravalle for the best start to our married life. We can't wait to return.
