It’s out of the season already in this campsite, feels like everything is closed already, but we enjoyed our short visit, beautiful beach, cosy campsite & we definitely visit again.
Dog friendly, nice pizza place, really nice cabins with the view to the beach.

Very beautiful camping with a very nice swimmingpool,and a whole lot of entertainment for kids.And many times on the beach entertaiment for adults ,,we seen a lot of bands playing very good music.
But the reason we drive 1600 km is because it is so friendly for dogs,there is a part of the beach for dogs .
And it is also very clean in the bathrooms ,and the camping as well is very clean.
We have been here twice.
In one word very lovely.

If you like holidays as the only English in the area surrounded by 99% Italians, next to the sea in a cycling town, without a car, then this might be for you.  You can practice your Italian and you'll be inundated with offers to practice English. 

Pineto Beach camping has Cabins/Mobile homes to rent (we've tried various different ones/sizes over the years) as well as welcoming motorhomes and tents.  There is no hire of fridges etc for tents etc, so if doing it without a car you need to rent a Cabin/Mobile home and to save money book it around (if I remember correctly) the November in the preceeding year to coincide with their early buy discount. 

If you are hiring a pitch for tent/motorhome be aware this is apparently the ONLY campsite in all of Italy with private toilets and showers to rent on your pitch - plus your own washing up sink.

Mobile homes are kitted out with everything you need.  Some have TV as an extra and, I think MOST have air conditioning but double check.  Only extras you'll need are a sharp knife (buy from campsite shop or large Conad Supermarket in centre of town) and a bottle opener isn't always present (get to know your neighbours by borrowing theirs).  Be aware the bath towels are the classic thin Italian tea towel type that dry really quickly.

The campsite is adjacent to the sea on their own private beach.  The infamous cycle path Corridoio Verde Adriatico runs adjacent to the sea, through pine forests, past bars.  Cycle down to the sandy beach where the tower is (Torre Cerrano) its a really pleasant cycle ride.  You can cycle into town too.  Its a cycling town so expect lots of cyclists.  You can rent a bike from reception (great for young teens to adults - try different sizes out) but no bikes to rent for young children.  Everyone brings their own children's bikes.  You might be able to rent children's bikes in the town at the bike rental shop but somehow I don't think they rent such a thing.

If you hire a mobile home/cabin you are entitled to 2 free sunbeds and one umbrella (anything extra you have to pay for).  Ensure you take the name of your 'house' to the beach and put your house name down on the list the life guard has - if you don't you risk starting WWIII with other campers, as my other half found out by sitting on what he thought was a vacant bed.  This was despite me telling him about beach etiqueete in Italy beforehand! You are allocated a numbered sunbed (or deckchair) for the duration of your stay.  The sea is a picture perfect blue colour on  calm days and Dolphins have been spotted.  It was blue flag but in recent years it might not be so.

The only downsides to the beach are 1) it is stoney/pebbly but the sea is soft sand (except for the first metre as you enter the sea) and 2) the beach sellers have increased in numbers each year to the point of it being really annoying/too frequent. If you are snoozing or pretend to be asleep they will drag their clothes/towels over you as they pass.  They will try and wake you. They arrive by train in the morning by the hundreds and work the beaches all day - must be hard hot work.  I have experienced the beach sellers on many beaches in Italy but this area has been the worst for frequency of interuptions.  The staff at the camping didn't seem to be concerned about it.  The Italians often buy from them.  I did experience one nasty incident one year early lunchtime when I was enjoying the beach to myself (the Italians go back to the camp for Pasta) and one seller tried to intimidate me into purchasing, bearing his teeth and threatening me.  He probably was having a bad day for sales but I certainly wasn't rude to him either. I think he took advantage as I was the only person there and female.  It was a one off incident but be aware if on your own at lunchtime.  The Life Guard goes for lunch for a couple of hours.  There is of course the gorgeous camp swimming pool but that closes for lunch.  

There is quiet time in the afternoon at the campsite - Siesta time - and as its the hottest part of the day you either part-take and escape the heat or go to the beach where some families have come back out after lunch.  The teens tend to go to the Wifi area.

Wifi is only allocated for 2 hours a day per person and only at the Wifi zone by the bar/pool.  Plenty of seats there plus charging points for electrical equipment.

There was a report one year of a break-in on the camp but in all the years we visited we ensured we locked up our windows and doors and we never experienced a problem.  Be aware there are not any safes inside the mobile homes/cabins.  

There are mozzie screen blinds on the windows which are brilliant.  They do spray the campsite every so often at night for insects with chemicals and a warning goes out in Italian over the tannoy (Hi di Hi Campers) to warn you to shut your windows/bring in your laundry.  If you are out for the day when the announcement goes out or don't understand it can be difficult to know its going to happen.  

The town is full of cyclists (cars too) and restaurants, bars, 2 pubs, cafes, Gelaterias.  If you cycle around the town in the evening you will find different markets in different areas on several nights of the week.  One is right at the other end of the town.  Cycling around is really pleasant especially as they pedestrianise the main town centre in the main summer months (certainly in July).  

To get to Pineto without a car you need to fly to Pescara and get a taxi (or a train to Pineto but then walk 2 miles on the flat, in the heat, on the bike path).   A taxi from Pecara is about 60 Euro or a bit more to the campsite.  One year the driver couldn't find the campsite and I had to direct him with difficulty, so have a map to hand with the campsite pinned on it.  The car has to travel underneath the railway line and turn left to eventually get to the campsite.  Its next door to Heliopolis campsite.

There are no taxis in Pineto as everyone arrives by car then gets around by bike.  Taxis have to be called from Pescara and cost a lot of money.

The campsite has a great security guard who locks the beach entrances at night and ensures the quiet time at night (midnight i think) happens.  Which is great.

The Italian teens go out to town at midnight (the bakery opens at midnight for starters) and then often stay on the beach all night (further away from campsite) having a bonfire, waiting for sunrise etc.  If you have confident teens and there are some english speaking teens your teens will be welcomed to join in.  We didn't see our teens from the first year we were there except for dinner time and even then they'd often get a pizza take out with the others.  If your teen is shy then it won't happen.

The pool is amazing.  You can also book to join in on in-pool spin cycling and water aerobics in the pool and/or the sea.  You must wear a cloth hat but you don't look a numpty as everyone else has to wear one too. Available from the camp shop or buy a cloth one online.

In the town in the evening in July and August at least are bands playing, an annual evening carnival with floats (July) firework displays and lovely atmosphere.  Shops open in the evening.  Frequent evening markets in different places.  Cycle around until you find one.

The campsite has daytime classes (dances, salsa etc), kids club and evening entertainment some of which is hilarious!  Some you don't need the language.  Others someone might translate for you (if you are lucky).  There are musical shows in to tunes you know sung in Italian, dances, cabaret (often dont need the language to understand it) talent night (amazing talent!) karaoke night (english and italian - opera singers, pop and even heavy rock).

There is a restaurant on site which we used once.  It was very nice.

If you partially self cater you can cycle to the large Conad supermarket (middle of town) on 2 bikes with a back pack and use the rear panier/front basket to bring your food/drink home.  There is a large Gluten Free end of aisle section here too.  Don't confuse it with other end of aisle free from foods.  Look for Senza Glutine.

This is a very special place to holiday that I've kept to myself over the years, but its no good if you expect English to be spoken.  It doesn't cater for  English so don't expect it to.

An absolute beautiful, relaxing and peaceful resort. Perfect for a family and you can take your dogs with. Dogs have their own swimming pool, playground and dog shower. 
Beautiful pool area and a walk away to the beach. Have a drink at the bar.

We stayed at Pineto beach for a week. Had a lovely pitch but worth checking when you arrive as some seem crowded. 
Excellent for the beach and the site has a really lovely pool.  Has a children’s club. The main bonus for us was how dog friendly it is including a dog beach as our dogs love swimming. Much more dog friendly than most sites and areas we found on Adriatic coast.
Facilities were of a very good standard and very clean.
Definitely worth a visit. Check map before arriving as finding a tunnel to get to site from SS16 was interesting 
Also be sure to walk into Pineto, don’t miss the seafront. 
Good stay

This is a well planed out camp site. A bit tight for large camper vans. The sit is right on the beach with  lovely shower and toilets..
Nice big pool. BUT be warned you cannot use it without a swimming cap. 
Nice restaurant and TV room and music in the night which is quite loud and goes on to 11.00. 
Some odd thing you can only dump you rubbish from 9 to 10 in the morning  or night. 
The price is a min of 20€ even with club card then you have to pay extra 2€ for water. 
The in general are nice and friendly. 

We were pretty much the only ones in the camping area with only a tent whereas others were travelling with campers. We stayed for two nights. 

Pineto Beach had a friendly vibe and welcoming staff. The beach was ideal for our lazy days of swimming and getting tan. We also rented bikes to visit some nearby towns. Not much sights to see on the coast, though. The village was quite noisy still late at night which may bother if going to sleep before 11.

The pine woods of Pineto are wonderful: for hiking, biking and camping. Pineto Beach is a fully equipped, clean site right on the beach and underneath the pine trees - resin covers included. Irritating may be the trains nearby and all these permanent campers - in low seasons it's rather a trailer park without people than a cosy camping site.

minor disadvantages

We stayed for a night. In general it was a nice place, lots of children, but it's next to a railway, it was too noisy and I couldn't sleep. There is no hot water in the shower cabins. The good thing was that it's a quite big complex with many facilities. It's next to a beach.
