It was getting late in the day @ on my Via Francigena walk in the heat.  As I turned into the piazza leading to my accommodation a woman in a car identified me as her guest.  Roberta was getting worried about me and had set out to look for me. She is my 'Trail Angel' for today.  I arrived at her house very hot and very tired.  As Roberta showed me to my room in the annex she offered me a cold drink.  I accepted a beer with alacity and enjoyed the peaceful ambience as I rested in the lovely garden.
My room was a delightful shade of blue, with a couple of small exposed 'rocks' on the main wall and lights set in niches on two walls. It gave the room a cave-like ambience, like a sanctuary.  The bathroom was a couple of steps up from the bedroom and was lovely too.
Roberta suggested dining at a small restaurant on the piazza and I had an enjoyable meal there.  In the morning Roberta served an exceptionally good breakfast with fresh fruit salad, yoghurt and cereals, bread to toast, various condiments, sweet cake and biscuits and very good coffee.  
During my stay I met Audrey, Roberta's Bernese Mountain dog (my son has one) and Roberta's daughter, Vittoria, the Italian version of my name - interesting coincidences.
I highly recommend Roberta as a delightful and caring hostess and her place as a fabulous oasis.

Useless to add anything to previous reviews, simply the perfect place to feel home and on holiday at the same time.

We were only passing the night traveling north - close to the milan-aoste highway- but its worth staying much longer.

How do I describe a place that gave me so many speechless moments? I almost didn’t write a review because I can’t do it justice. 
To start with the B&B, the owners Roberta and Filipo are incredibly warm and welcoming. We arrived and they set up lunch for us all on the beautiful patio. We spent a couple of hours eating, talking, drinking… Filipo even brought out his collection of grappa for us to try. The owners both speak excellent English which made things much easier for us. The house itself is quite large with the family’s living area on the top two floors and the guest rooms and breakfast room on the bottom. All guest rooms have their own bathrooms, and two of them have their own doors separate from the main house. In renovating this place which I believe used to be some sort of an old barn from the 1800’s, the family gave careful attention to every little detail. I feel like I am staying with family but also in a luxury boutique hotel. From the subtle sconced lighting in the whitewashed stone walls to the antique Italian furniture and crisp white linens, everything is perfectly situated and unbelievably lovely. There are many outdoor seating areas and little nooks for you to curl up and read a book. If you want to do anything in the area, whether hiking Via Francigena, going skiing, visiting the gorgeous little towns dotting the landscape of Piemonte, or going to all of the wineries in the region, Roberta and Filipo can help arrange any activity. 

Honestly I don’t understand why people make such a big deal about Tuscany when this region offers so much more. You not only have the wine towns and stunning landscape that Tuscany has, but you also have the Alps nearby. The dramatic snow-capped mountains are even visible from the patio at this B&B, which really is in an ideal location to explore all of Piemonte. While Piverone is probably not on the radar of many travelers, it should be. The town itself is quiet, charming, old Italy. I love that there are not really tourists here because it feels like after years of traveling around the world, I have finally “discovered” some place on my own. The town center is a short walk down the street from the B&B and there are restaurants, a wine bar, and some shops. There are tiny little winding streets and alley ways, and plenty of ways to lose yourself in your imagination and stumble upon something so picturesque that it transcends words.

I’m picky. I don’t give 5 star reviews because every place has room to improve, if even just a little… but Roberta and Filipo definitely deserve 5 stars.

Simply perfect. The location and B&B is beautiful and authentic.

Traveling with my adult daughter and niece who were meeting Italian cousins for the first time, it was important to find the right place. What we wanted was a clean, comfortable, quiet place, near to relatives, in a charming town where we could walk to a restaurant.
This B&B was all of that and more.  After an overnight flight from Newark, Roberta and Filippo invited us to join them for lunch.  We sat on the terrace overlooking the snow dusted Alps and felt immediately as though we were at the home of friends.  There is an open area for relaxing and a shaded sitting area. Something for everyone. The fenced in yard is surrounded by flowers and shrubs all beautifully maintained and lovely to wake up to each morning.
The restoration of this old house is tasteful and authentic. Roberta and Filipo have an decorating aesthetic that I can only envy. On to the rooms...
My bedroom had a stone floor, firm, very comfortable bed and two arm chairs for reading.
The room was spotlessly clean, linens crisp, high ceiling with fan and exposed timber ceiling beams.  What a delightful place to spend 8 nights!  The only caveat I can think of is that there are 3 steps up to the bathroom (toilet, bidet, sink and shower stall). For someone with physical limitations, this could be an issue. Soap, shampoo and hair dryer were provided leaving more space in the suitcase for other things.  I did not feel cramped in this room as I have in other European hotel rooms. 
Breakfast was a typical Italian colazione. Bread, cheese, prosciutto, granola,nuts, yogurt, fresh fruit salad, espresso, cappuccino, tea. Each day there was something added such as apple tart, pudding - all delicious. The dining area is on the first floor of the main part of the building and has three tables so that each guest room has a table.
In addition to providing a comfortable place to stay, Roberta and Filippo (both speak English) helped us to plan a side trip to Barolo and were always there to answer questions and give recommendations.  
Over the years I have become disenchanted with the American B&B experience - phony and overpriced.  B&B Francigena is inn-keeping at its best.

A trip to reconnect with family in Italy after many years

I arrived in this B&B without knowing anything about it except the telephone number & that it was on the via Francigena (which I was walking).  When Roberta opened the door & I stepped into the beautiful garden, footsore & weary, my spirits were revived.  The renovation of a very old building and garden over 15 years has been a great achievement.  Immediately Roberta produced a big jug of juice & made me welcome.
