The location to visit Pompeii is good. 
Other than that, nothing positive to write about this place. The toilets aren’t very well kept, the shower is TINY with no where to hang your clothes, and above all the staff are RUDE. The restaurant staff were unnecessarily ignorant and just made our visit pretty unpleasant. 
Wouldn’t recommend. 

Convenient, but that’s it. 

Nice friendly staff, clean room, good food in restaurant very close proximity to Pompeii scarcity, literally opposite the entrance, convenient stay after a long walk of Pompeii, if you wish not to leave the same day, affordable stay, close to the train station also

We visited this eatery on our visit to Pompeii. How we wished we hadn’t bothered. Every member of staff was rude, arrogant and as if everything was too much to ask. It was as if they didn’t quite realise their job description as a waiter was to serve and be pleasant to  customers. After finally being seated (after being punished for being a couple not a group and having to wait longer) it was like rocking horse ****trying to get their attention to order. The meals didn’t come out together and my husband had almost finished his by the time mine came. Food wasn’t all that. The bill didn’t arrive after asking so I went to the counter. The woman on there was rude too. Maybe should spend money on a charm course for the staff at the place. Charging €2 per cover is a rip off too! Make your own choice if you visit or not but be warned!

Awful staff. Don’t eat here.

I can’t speak for the hotel, but the restaurant staff were very off-putting and awkward. Food, drinks, and price was all decent. About 10 minutes after we were seated, a grumpy manager came over to take our drink order. No hello, just came and stood there. Nobody else came over so we walked up and ordered our pizza. At the end of the meal, we went up to pay and the manager said that he would bring our bill to the table. Okay, no problem. 5 minutes later, another server came up and said “here’s the bill, it’s cash only and that’s not including a tip.” Then he stood there while we awkwardly fished out cash. We are totally fine with tipping but a tip on top of a 2€/person coperto for awful service was unreasonable. Only time in Italy that we have ever felt so awkward at a restaurant.

Good campsite to walk across the road to Pompei remains, with supermarket just 500 yards down the road towards the town.  If using a motorhome or camper, be careful to park on the supermarket side, not in the €2 per hour parking if just doing a shop.  The guy at reception speaks good English and French and is very helpful.  You can walk a few minutes up the road to the train station to get to Herculaneum also.  The only warning for campers is that the shower cubicles are very short and you can’t angle the shower head, and there are no shelves, just two hooks on the door, so anything hung on the door is likely to get wet!  However, forewarned is forearmed and apart from this, I would recommend it.

Very convenient and pleasant for motorhomes and campervans

We were asked to pay €10 for parking for the day for Pompeii. There are some toilets and a restaurant which is handy too. I'm not sure if you said you were eating at the restaurant if you'd get parking for free but people that stay at the campsite get a small discount for the restaurant.

A great location, over the road from the ruins but the small dusty pitches and the smallest camp site showers I have ever known really marred the experience. I really wish we had done some research before choosing this one.

My girlfriend and I decided to go for a quick drink at their restaurant as there were loads of free tables and we wanted to sit down after visiting Pomepeii for a few minutes.

First of all the waiters were absolutely not interested as we did not come to eat. Secondly the worst part was yet to come.
On their menu’s it clearly states that they do not charge ‘coperta’ (a kind of service charge) however when we finished our drinks and went to pay we saw that they added coperta to our bill for 1 sparkling water and 1 coke. The waiter then stressed that this is without the tip, which we could include on top. 

I’ve never had to pay coperta for just drinks and neither should you. It consisted of nearly the same amount of what we spent on two drinks. When we raised this the manager tried to settle for an amount in the middle...

Food coming to other tables looked bland. 

I never write negative reviews (as my profile will show) but I just want to warn people as this is exactly what you want to avoid. Even in a tourist trap environment as Pompeii!

Only time i’ve felt ripped off in Italy

This camping offers also "safe" parking for visitors of Scavi di Pompei which is really close to it. They accept more likely caravans than poor tends. We had to head off for another camping. Check your plan B if you decide to go there! 

No place for a tend 

There are so many plus points with this campsite, but it is spoilt by the toilet facilities. It is a great location, right opposite the walk into Pompei itself, together with the train station on the line running between Naples & Sorrento. It’s just a half kilometre from the autostrada and there’s a really good Carrefour supermarket just a few minutes’ walk away.

The staff were welcoming & friendly and the office seems to be open 24 hours a day. The pitches were a bit cramped and you do need to get on with your neighbours! The camper service wasn’t the easiest to use and rush hour could be difficult. When we were there, the restaurant on the main road, above the toilets, was being seriously refurbished and it was a bit noisy. The toilets themselves were the big disappointment. The men’s had just two small showers for the whole site, only one toilet with a single wash-hand basin, and a disabled toilet. Naturally, with everyone squeezed into such limited facilities, it got very messy, although there was a cleaner on hand most of the time. It really was totally inadequate for a site of this size & repuation, and it must lose them a lot of business.

The site had free WiFi and it was available under the ACSI scheme when we were there.
