Casa Grande is situated in a small and quiet village, and is - like the other houses in the village - an authentic big house built in the historical style of the region. It's perfect for people who are not looking for tourist villages, but prefer to stay with the locals. Still, you are close to the big road, and grocery shops, restaurants and all kinds of services are very nearby. The owners of Casa Grande live next to the house and are very friendly and helpful. We have been in 2 of the apartments several times and our experience is that they have everything we need: lots of space for luggage and bikes, washing machine, decent cooking gear etc. The house remains fresh in the summer without the need for air conditioning. The purpose of our travels is always sports: mountain biking, hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing. The location is perfect for this kind of activities, but also for people who like to enjoy nature in a slower way, visit beautiful villages, etc. In our opinion, Casa Grande is the best choice for a stay in Pragelato.

Beautiful house in an authentic village

Nice experience in a beautiful and peaceful place. Donata and her husband are very nice and helpful people.
We recommend it to people who like a quiet place in the mountains, even with children.
You can go trekking, mountain biking anywhere.
The apartment is nice, spacious and comfortable. It has everything you need.

It's about 8 years now that we go every winter to Casa Grande for skiing. It's just great! Perfect. We love it. Beautiful, very clean, a lot of space. People are very kind, service is top. We go there with our 4 daughters and they love it.

Four of us stayed in the largest apartment, No. 7.  Very nice with 2 bedrooms, 2 baths.  Kitchen a little cramped, but very serviceable.  We particularly enjoyed the location along the Chisone River, the hiking in the mountains, the beautiful gardens, and meeting the local people, especially the wonderful property managers, Donatella and GianCarlo.  They were very kind and helpful, and we would cheerfully come back.

Very nice hiking trails.  Fun to see the beautiful cows with their big bells grazing in the forest along the hiking trail.

Lovely, rustic apartment, beautiful location, wonderful family service

I booked a studio room for a stay here in June, but when we arrived, we were placed instead in  "vacation rental" that came with a full kitchen, a washing machine, and two bedrooms (one bath).  I think the reason, perhaps, that we got this space is that the other hotel -- including most of the places in the area -- was closed up for the season.  We were there to visit Fort Fenestrelle, and had the weather been nice we might have done some hiking, too, but it seems that almost no one goes to the Pragelato area except to ski.

The rental was clean and very comfortable for two people.  There really isn't anyplace to buy food in order to prepare things for yourself, and we hadn't intended to do this anyway, so we didn't really take full advantage of the kitchen.  Still, it was nice to be able to make our own coffee and have breakfast in the space.  The rooms were a little dark, and aside from a kitchen table, there was no "sitting area" per se; also, unless we simply could not figure out how to make the tv work, the only television option was a dvd of "Pirates of the Caribbean."  There was functional, reliable, and fast wireless internet service, however, so who needs tv?  haha

We had difficulty finding the hotel, though, because "Pragelato" is not one single place but a few small hamlets strung along the main road, and the hotel was off a side street and tucked behind a few other buildings.  It was not far from the Tourist Center, though, where we finally went to ask for directions.

The people who worked here were very nice and provided excellent suggestions for local restaurants.  All in all, we were very pleased with our stay and would come back in the future should we be fortunate enough to return to the region.
