Friendly and helpful owner. Alberto was just the friendliest and most helpful host. He gave us very good recommendations for restaurants, things to do and when. He and his wife bake their own breakfast goodies, which is served as part of the B&B experience. The place is clean and centrally located. You could not find a better place to stay in central Alba.

Alba's best secret place to stay

Five stars is too minuscule of a rating for the hospitality guests are given at Casa Agnese. It's hard to know where to begin with respects to reviewing the highlights of this stay. LOCATION. I work in the wine industry and travel frequently for business and pleasure. I used Alba as a hub to explore Barolo and Barbaresco. Casa Agnese is extremely well-located, just steps from both the promenade and the train station in Alba. The location could not be more convenient to explore Alba's best restaurants and shops by foot. ACCOMMODATIONS. I rented a two-bedroom apartment from Casa Agnese and had anticipated a smaller space one might expect for central village accommodations but was amazed with how spacious and well-equipped the apartment was. It has two spacious bedrooms and bathrooms, a kitchen, living area, dining area, washer facilities and a garage. AMENITIES. The hosts thought of every amenity a traveler might possibly need for creature comforts - refreshments, coffee, slippers, laundry supplies, regional maps and countless more. HOST. I saved the best for last. Alberto is nothing short of incredible. From greetings to goodbyes, I've never had a more helpful and hospitable host. Hands down, the best place to stay in the area. 

Incredible accommodations in Alba

We are so happy that we chose  this fantastic place . A central place and close to the heart of Alba, surrounded by alleys with many restaurants and shops, 
the room was spacious and extremely clean, 
Alberto received us in a  warm way and made us feel at home.
The room was well equipped and set with all our requirements and even more. 
Alberto helped us with all the information about the area and booked us places for 3 restaurants for dinner, everything was delicious and pleasant, 

Even when we had an unusual request about a pillow for the bed, Alberto made sure to fulfill it and we really appreciated that.

Perfect place in Alba

We can highly recommend Casa Agnese. Beautiful and comfortable room, very central location, private parking, great breakfast. The host is really fantastic, helpful and kind. Alberto has offered excellent service, also for special requests for our bikes and luggage. 

Highly recommended B&B in Alba

This B&B is well located & Alberto the consummate host. Large modern light & quiet room with balcony. Roomy modern bathroom, excellent storage & secure wifi which many other accommodation providers don’t provide. Good breakfast including lovely homemade pastries. For those with a car secure onsite parking. Only a 5minute walk from train station. Alberto very engaging, providing good information & fine restaurant recommendations.

A HAVEN IN CENTRAL ALBA

Alberto is the ultimate proprietor & host, sparing no effort or details to make sure his guests felt right at home. We stayed at his B&B again, after a most memorable stay in 2021, in spite of the disappointing truffles season in Alba. The truffles were better this year,  but I am feasting on better white truffles now in Hong Kong for my three weeks vacation. 
Alberto went out of his way to procure us a private driver and assisted in making reservations at wineries for us. He gets 6 stars from us!

The only B&B to consider when you visit Alba

My husband and I first stayed in one of Alberto’s delightful rooms in 2017. We were thrilled to be able to stay in the new apartment for our most recent visit to tour the Piedmont region of Italy. One word — PERFECT!! The two bedroom apartment is beautifully decorated and perfectly designed. We wish we could have stayed longer but hope it will be available when we return. You will never find a more attentive host than Alberto! 

Perfection in Alba

Loved our stay at Casa Agnese. The owner was so kind and the breakfast spread each morning was perfect. It was a cozy and lovely spot to stay while exploring Piedmont. The owner was super helpful with lots of details on places to eat, shop, etc. Can't wait to return!

Great Spot in Alba

The B&B consists of three guest rooms and a breakfast area in a non-description building close to the city center that was the Agnese’s home at one point.  The rooms are all modern and well maintained.  Ours had a comfortable bed, a wardrobe, and a spacious bathroom although the shower was a bit cozy.  Everything’s worked flawlessly.

Shops and restaurants are literally only a few blocks away and a car is actually more of a hindrance than a help.

Breakfast included excellent home made breads and pastries, cheeses and cold meats, cereals, juices, and coffee.

But the best part of Casa Agnese is the owner.  Alberto knows many of the business owners in town so he also knows which restaurants offer the best value and called the owners at home when we were otherwise unable to arrange reservations on our own.  He also knows the owner of the local ride service and arranged for us to be picked at different times when the tour operator we were using for a self-guided hiking tour wasn’t responsive.  He’s exceptionally gracious and helpful - more so than just about any other B&B host we’ve run across in almost four decades of traveling.

We expect to return to Alba before our traveling days come to an end and when we do we will be staying at Casa Agnese

Comfortable lodging, exceptional host.

Alberto was an amazing host. He helped us with restaurant and wine tasting recommendations and gave great advice both before and during our stay. He was a friendly resource available every day during delicious breakfast. The accommodations were clean, modern and comfortable. We especially enjoyed having a comfortable common "living room" for relaxing during the afternoon heat. The location was perfect for walking around central Alba and the parking was easy and secure.
