This bed and breakfast was a very nice surprise. It is off a county highway that has a mix of businesses, and private properties and is not visible from the street. The area wasn’t particularly quaint or inviting, so I was a bit concerned about this choice. However, once we turned off the highway onto the long driveway lined with hazelnut trees on one side and open fields on the other leading to the house, my concerns were put to rest. The cascina (farmhouse) originally built in the late 1800s and restructured with taste, was charming and met all of our expectations. 
The owners were very pleasant and accommodating. We were warmly greeted and given all the information necessary to make sure our stay was comfortable. The room was bright and spacious, with large windows looking out onto property and surrounding fields. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom ample. Everything on the premises was very clean and tidy.
The breakfast was perfect, offering a good variety of foods from cake and croissants, to freshly sliced prosciutto and cheese. 
Cascina Giulia is strategically situated to visit Alba, which is just a few miles away, and the Langhe area. The price/quality ratio, excellent. We couldn’t have asked for more. 


A Wonderful Bed & Breakfast in the Langhe 

Next to Alba, La Morra, Diana d'Alba and Barolo this quite and rustic b&b is extremely recommended for couples who want to visit these places in one weekend.

A quite b&b in a strategic position

Simply warm, welcoming and just wonderful! 

This review is long overdue.  We stayed with this family for a week last September, and we will never, ever forget them.  I developed a terrible cold from the flight over from California, and they took such good care of me that I was in great condition for the rest of our trip.
Our room was large, lovely, and bright with a large and completely up-to-date bathroom.  All were emaculate.  Oh, and the breakfasts were the best ever.  
You can tell we truly love this place and the family that lives there.  We would never stay anywhere else when we return to Alba.

CASCINA GIULI

This is a small family run business just a bit outside the lovely town of Alba.  The rooms are large and beautifully decorated.  Your hosts are eager to help make your stay pleasant and assist in finding activities you will enjoy.  

Alba itself is a delightful town to explore and full of fun shops and great places to dine.  You are about a 2 hour drive from Lakes Como and Maggiore as well as Milan.  You are about 1 hour from Milan.  

We ate at several of the osterias in the area where a full Italian meal is served.  We also took a day trip to a little village in the mountains.  There is a kitchen in the B&B so if you would like to pick up treats at the farmer's market you can bring them back to enjoy.  

In the fall they hold the truffle festival, but you can enjoy truffles and the truffle butter anytime.  Alba is famous for their white truffles.  There are many vineyards close by and there are tours available.  One of the local specialties is wild boar cooked in Borolo wine.  It is truly worth ordering!

Graceful and freindly

We spent 2 weeks here in August of 2014. As others have said the setting and comfort is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable as well as beautifully decorated. The view from you windows is the the breathtaking countryside.

 This area of Italy is so beautiful, the food here is marvelous and there are a wide variety of activities to enjoy. You are a short drive to Turin, Milan, Lakes Como and Maggiore or the mountains. Alba itself is filled with wonderful stores and restaurants to explore and enjoy. There are endless little towns that sit on those rolling hills that will charm you. Your hosts are gracious and eager to help you enjoy your stay. I highly recommend this lovely B&B!
