We stayed overnight as this hotel was reasonably close to the railway station in Reggio Calabria.  The photos on the website are not actually inaccurate but they make the place look a lot better than it really is.  They were certainly taken from a very flattering angle.  It may also be useful to know that there is no lift so if you are allocated the room with the big bed in the picture gallery on the website then you have to drag your luggage up several flights of stairs.  It is very run down and has the look of somewhere that has seen better days.  It is OK for an overnight but definitely not somewhere that you would want to linger.  The staff were friendly and pleasant and did their best to communicate in English for non-Italian speakers so we must give them full credit for that.  There were problems with the wifi while we were there but I cannot say whether that is a permanent state of affairs.  Breakfast was provided in a cafe round the corner.  I would recommend looking at what else is available before booking here.

Basic and seedy

Stayed at Una Dimora Di Charme on October 6, 2010, and found it to be sexy and yes, charming. It's a compact hotel, which is well located near the Piazza Duomo, and not very far from the principal train station at Piazza Garibaldi. The matrimonial suite was spacious and modern, with a,  well, sexy king sized bed. Very nice bathroom, nice breakfast, and a handsome, helpful,  and charming young man at the desk. Pretty marble staircase, but no lift though. Would stay there again.
