The agriturismo looked charming enough once inside. Philomena, the owner's sister greeted us warmly, the room was spacious enough. We had a few laughs trying to make the ceiling fan work.
Sadly, the bed was extremely uncomfortable.
We booked through booking.com and nowhere did it suggest we needed to say if we wanted dinner at the agriturismo. And once we arrived, they had even stopped serving dinners/ giving the option altogether for the season. When the owner arrived, we were sitting in the charming garden. Other than a brief buona sera walking by, he had nothing to say. No: Welcome, is everything okay etc.
Philomena suggested another place for dinner: Su Baroccu. While the place was charming, the food left lots to be desired: While plenty, the appetizers were bland, the secondi were terribly overcooked. The café was bad and served lukewarm in plastic cups. The limoncello was awful. But: their primis were excellent: Ravioli with ricotta and lemon, pasta with a spada sugo. 
For breakfast, as we are early risers, we couldn't even make ourselves a cup of coffee and were directed to go to a nearby pasticceria. 
Very disappointing experience. Oh, and Riola Sardo is an extremely quiet = boring village. Nothing to see, nothing to do.
