Residenza San Lorenzo 

There is a small, quiet street in Rome, the Via Dei Claudini, where one will find an unimposing older apartment building. Ascending via the winding marble stairs or the small lift will take you to the door of Stelle di San Lorenzo. You will be greeted by the lovely Assunta, the friendly and very helpful owner of a cozy and comfortable set of rooms which will make one immediately feel at home. There are several rooms accessible directly from the entrance hallway and another that includes a lovely small living room. Your stay includes breakfast. During out visit, Assunta provided us with vouchers which we could use each morning at the Piccolo Cafe on the corner of Via Dei Claudini. The owners, Angelo and Maria, will treat you as if you have lived in the neighborhood for decades and were 'regulars' at the cafe every morning for a quick Espresso and pastry. Indeed, almost immediately, ma wife and I were part of the neighborhood, joining many of the locals for a splendid way to being the day. Please be sure to visit Angelo and Maria should you be in that neighborhood. Stelle di San Lorenzo is but a short walk from the Termini; it is located close to the University, outstanding restaurants and cafes as well as the many historic sites of Rome. If you wish, Assunta can arrange to have a driver meet you at the airport who will then take you directly to Stelle di San Lorenzo (you might wish to ask for Lorenzo as your driver). So, if traveling to Rome, might I highly recommend contacting Assunta for a stay at Stelle di San Lorenzo.
