We stayed at the Hotel Napoleon as a family of 4 for 4 nights. I booked the holiday in February and then started to read some of the most reviews on here in July and August. On the basis of the same, my husband and I were seriously considering cancelling and finding a hotel elsewhere. I am sooo glad we didn’t…. Firstly, the staff were amazing. Helpful, kind, friendly and cheerful. Our room was fantastic. Immaculately clean, the beds were super comfortable and the air con was quiet and efficient. Breakfast was wonderful. Yes, they do offer green beans etc as mentioned by a previous reviewer, but they also have a huge range of pastries, home made cakes, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, toast, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc. I’m on a strict diet for medical reasons and there was still so much choice for me. Yes, the lifts are narrow but it’s an historic building and is not dissimilar to others in Italy. They are perfectly fine. We did notice some homeless people in the piazza outside but nobody approached us or spoke to us. At no time did I feel unsafe with our young family and the local shops and restaurants were amazing. I am genuinely baffled by the negative reviews. We loved the Hotel Napoleon and cannot wait to return.

    What was good

    The hotel is located within walking distance from Termini station yet since it across the street from a park it is a pleasant, quiet location. Metro stop right outside the door.

    Wide selection for breakfast, including scrambled eggs and bacon.

    We booked a superior room and were glad we did. We appreciated the extra room with the wide sofa, chair and desk.

    Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.
