I stayed at Residence Balduina during my staying in Rome, the place is very well located and not far away from the center, I easily got around with public transport. The room we had was ok, there was a bit of bad smell right when we first got in but nothing too drastic. The only real issue we've encountered was one of the doors you had to open in order to access the elevator, the door is faulty and sometimes the key doesn't turn properly. I've also spoken to one of the workers at the front desk and I got told it's been a issue for a minute and that they'll fix it the same week. One night I was out till late and when I came back the door wouldn't open, the key just wouldn't turn. So I asked the door man for help, he came and tried to open the door but it wouldn't and this man started cussing all over the place, giving kicks with his foot at the door trying to get it open. My whole family is italian and even tho I have spent majority of my life in Austrlia and in South America, I can understand a bit of Italian, and I guarantee you that this man cussed the f*** out of himself. Very unprofessional, he was stinking a lot too, he definetly lacked in hygene. The door opened after a few minutes of us trying, but that episode alone was enough to NEVER COME BACK AGAIN.

Well located but poor manners!

I just spent a semester studying in Rome, and we stayed at Residence Balduina from February through the first week of May. It was a really great experience. Everyone was very nice, the place was clean, it's in a very safe part of town, and is only a 5 minute walk from the train station, about a ten minute train ride from the middle of town. There are quite a few good restaurants and pizzerias within walking distance, as well as grocery stores and an OVS department store. A very residential district, so not much to do right there, but a great place to stay nonetheless. Great place to stay in Rome.

Great Housing for Semester

I think it's the best place to stay for any visitor to Rome. Nice and comfortable cheep appartments; the staff are welcoming and very helpful. Signora is perfectly trilingual, she speaks french, english and Italian which makes it easier for visitors from other countries to communicate. and close to vatican and shopping area.........

Best Place to stay

Excellent place, only five minutes via Train to the Center and Vatican. Clean and confortable, an excellent option to a long stay trip or business travel at cheap price.
