I read through some of the reviews and I review this with the caveat that this is a very European/Italian-style hotel. It's not an American hotel. If you're an American expecting a Holiday Inn where you drive up and there's a suite with 70 pillows and a full sized fridge, this ain't it. Did you come to Europe for an American experience? A lot of hotels in Rome are like this one, on the floor of a building. The room I was in was immaculately clean and comfortable. I visited in October, so I had no need of things like AC. I left the bathroom window cracked and closed the bathroom door and the room was a perfect temperature. The breakfast was likewise NOT a full American breakfast. It was an Italian-style, which is might lighter than we're used to: pastries and coffee. Simple, elegant, Italian, like the people. I like it, but I also am as my Italian husband says "half Italian." I think it's about expectations. I loved this place and the owner was very kind despite me butchering his language. He let me leave my luggage while I ran around the city.
