The host was friendly, but the place was disgusting. Everything was dirty, the floors have probably never been washed. Our sheets were not washed. The bathroom was disgusting, didn’t really want to touch anything in there. Rooms looked nothing like in the pictures. Our room had a balcony which was full of dirty and broken old beds. The street was loud and dirty also (not the hostel’s fault though). We didn’t feel comfortable moving around to the toilet or kitchen areas.

We stayed for a night last saturday in a private room. On sunday we left our bagages under the care of the hotel and they stole 700 euros, which they took out of the suitcase as well as private documents.
Now they say that it is the guest's fault for leaving them. Not only are thieves but it is not a hotel, it is a hostel with one bathroom for all guests, with a lift out of service and located in a dirty and unsafe area of Rome.

We stayed there for three days. It was not what we should be getting for that amount of money. When we arrived, due to misunderstanding, we were put in quite stressful situation and were told (quite aggressively) to pay for the room even though we did that already trough our bank account. We showed them the receipt and everything went fine. It happened in their “reception” - a plastic table with one of workers taking pictures of our documents with his smartphone. 
The room was in different apartment - we had to go out of the building and enter from from the other place.
The room was cold during our whole stay and smelled really bad the worker just sprayed some air freshener around.
There was no warm water in the shower - maybe for few seconds and I could not finish my showering at all. Also there floor was constantly wet but I guess it’s just guests fault.
The breakfast was just one really sweet croissant or other bun per person.
There was coffe or tea available.
They have basic kitchen accessories but the signs say that you are not allowed to use kitchen.
Overall - do not recommend at all.

Not a good one

still can not believe I did not demand my full refund on the first night but only requested it…it was denied anyways.
I have stayed there with my fiancée and have to say it was a true day-light nightmare.

Place was super dirty, never cleaned although we were asked to leave the place from 10.00am-4.00pm each and every day.
We have stayed there 7 days (since we were travelling on budget we did not have to money to go somewhere else as Happy Rome would not refund our money after we saw how bad this place was).

My fiancee got bitten by bed bugs, representative of the so called hostel (it is not a hostel but private apartment) gave out to us and said that he had to change everyone’s bed sheets because of her. No apologies or cancellation was ever offered.

Rate supposed to include breakfast, but it was missing either of or 2 vital ingredients : coffee and food.

We have raised our concerns regarding cleanliness and lack of breakfast with the management via email but they did not bother to take action or respond to our cry for help.

Place is an absolute disgrace, they should not charge people money for dirty floors, leaking bath and no breakfast!

One more thing especially for female travellers - workers (males) walk into rooms without knocking.

Do not stay there! there are other locations for the same amount of money and much better conditions.    Look after yourselves and stay safe!

Ok so this is by far the worst hostel I have ever stayed in (out of all 100+ hostels/courch-surfer locations & hotels….) Basically Happy Rome should not be advertised as hostel, this is a private 2 bedroom apartment about 20mins from Termini station, where beds are made of large foam/sponge placed on the dirty floor…
We have stayed there in August ’17, on arrival we were told we are "lucky" to be placed in the room with air-conditioning (as the other one does not have it) - large device placed next to an OPEN window. lowering temperature of the room from 40C to 38C. So basicaly there was no air-con in either our of 2 bedrooms Quite hard to sleep. 
Staff : Workers of the place kept coming into bedrooms without knocking!!!! I was semi-naked once and felt very uncomfortable when being approached by the male staff.
2 Bathroom (20+people when hostel is full), very wet and dirty floors, leaking bath and sower, black smelly water remained in the bucket of the mop in the corner of the bathroom for duration of our stay -7days. 
Water kept changing temperature from freezing cold and scorching hot for no apparent reason…
General Rules : You need to leave this location from 10AM-4PM for cleaning purposes. This would be ok, we were actually prepared for that as we read full description before arriving, only that the place was NEVER cleaned !!!!! 
One can only wonder what they are doing there during those long afternoon hours. 
Breakfast - ok so you know from advertisement breakfast of this location is supposed to be included in the daily rate…. If you think you will be saving with this property with a free breakfast you are in for a  surprise.  Day number 1 there was no coffee - empty container placed on the counter..we did not think much and have politely advised staff that coffee was gone. We have placed open empty container upside down on the counter for someone to replace it,... Day 2 the same empty container closed and placed on the counter for all guests to get disappointed by yet again!.. That day I have decided to email the owner of Happy Rome and ask for the coffee, I was told that this will be investigated and improved on….Day number 3 (…) and yes you guessed it!!! :D !… No coffee again... all we were left with was smelling that empty jar of cheap coffee that once was there (coffee brand Jaaar) we did not however got to taste it…. 
So since each breakfast is suppose to contain of some sort of food we were told that each one of us will get a single croissant each morning.... Happy Rome however did not provide any food for 2 days, Day 1  - hours of serving were meant to be from 7.00-9.00...we have arrived at 8.15 on first day to find out that breakfast is still "on it's way".... All 7 of us waiting in the tiny kitchen for it to be offered. Croissants arrived, almost one per person.... sadly not enough for those that arrived at 8:45.... They were told they should have woken up earlier….(Ratio : 20 people 12 croissants..survival of the fittest) ….. Next day approx 8:30am no croissants again only this time we were advised that other guests must have eaten our croissants as none are left and that staff can not monitor who eats who’s croissants… :D 
Kitchen - Small no cutlery but overall sufficient. Big fridge. End of benefits here… You are not allowed to use kitchen after 22.00..reason ? Well we have found out on the second night... We have left some leftover pizza from town and were trying to get it  but could not, there was an Indian origin worker sleeping on a piece of cardboard and some blankets, blocking the entire kitchen floor from the sofa to the fridge... On day number 4 slightly before 22.00 there was a little child (same origin as workers) sleeping in the same conditions… we were super sad to see it. We did not enter the kitchen and stayed away for the reminder of the stay.
On day number 5 we have decided to take a break from the Happy Rome since we did not like it one bit and went to Naples, we did advise representative that we were travelling, but were coming back since we have paid for the full week and out luggage was still there just like the keys to the location were with us… Surprise surprise... when we came back a day later - Sunday after 00:00 our mattress along with our personal items were gone !!!!! Our room was empty, all things gone !!!! we have had to ask other people staying in the room to see what was going on…. we woke up worker sleeping on the kitchen sofa to see where were our beds….
We were told that representative assumed we were not coming back so they kept the room free for new customers.
When we have challenged that rep. reminding that we did discuss our return he said that he was mistaken and room was actually emptied so that it could be cleaned for us. He advised that shortly they will bring back our personal items and mattress to sleep on...
Shocking ! If you think you will be doing yourself a favour by saving and staying at this location please think twice! 
Our stay in Rome was spoiled mainly by all the bed experience of the place. 
Shortly after arriving to location on day 1 we have noticed how dirty the place was and told representative that we were not comfortable staying there. We have asked to be charged for 1 night and to be given rest of the money back, but we were told it is not possible and that we need to understand that it is not possible to clean after so many people and achieve better results.
We were super unhappy in Happy Rome and were stuck with no breakfast, air-con, privacy or options.
