We arrived to Casa Solares in early season, and although we were the only guests, Mariapia (Mimi) warmly welcomed us and prepared for us a classic Italian pasta luncheon. As we had no prior knowledge of Rossano, Mimi gave us many wonderful suggestion regarding places to visit, things to do, and where to dine … including Google maps. Our room was large and comfortable, with ample space for luggage and had closets with lots of hangers. Breakfasts were delicious, and included fresh orange juice from their orchards along with a variety of meats, cheeses, expresso coffees, breads and more. Mariapia conducted a private tour of the Casa Solares orchards and clementine processing facilities, along with a bit of family history of the estate. We also visited the family palace where we were warmly welcomed. Mimi was educated in both Italy and the USA so she spoke excellent english and could easily translate for us when needed.
