We had a delightful, 2-night stay here and I wish we could have stayed longer!  Our welcome was warm and friendly, the space was sparkly-clean and lovely, and the breakfast was generous.  

Don't be intimidated by the loft ceiling even if you are tall.  It is just fine, and the bed is super-comfy.

We ate at a local pizzeria, Casa Rosandra,  the first night and returned the second night because it was so good.  It is a good location for a day trip to Piran.

We hope to return in the future to explore more of the area and take advantage of the opportunities for hiking.

Wonderful B&B

The small village of Bagnoli is an excellent place for those wishing to be in a rural location but close to Trieste. The regular bus stops in the village centre and from there it is just a few minutes' walk to the B & B. There is only 1 bed at this B & B. The double bed is "in the rafters" (no room to stand), up some steep, spiral stairs which lead up from the lounge/dining room (which has a sofa bed). There is also a small kitchen and a modern, bright, shower room. Breakfast can be taken indoors or on the patio and includes a good selection of fruit, yogurts, fresh filled croissants and bread rolls with jams. 
The village itself has a supermarket, a gelateria and bakery as well as several bars and banks. The Rifugio at the end of the road is about 5 minutes' walk away and it serves good food in the evening. The hiking trails are well signposted, numerous and varied. We were there for 5 days and each day we chose a different route (we walked twice into Slovenia).
