We stayed at Eden for 9 nights with our 2 kids, 8 and 12 years old at the end of August. We stayed in a mobile home booked with Eurocamp.  The campsite is in a beautiful location but our stay was disappointing. 

We camped a few times before with our kids, also in mobile homes. The mobile home was disappointing for the price we paid (£1,500 for 9 nights).  We were placed in mobile home at the top of the campsite with no view at all and completely cramped in between other mobile homes all around us. The mobile home had no dishwasher, no tv and there was no Wifi available at the campsite apart from the communal areas at the bottom of the campsite. It was reasonably clean though and there was free air-conditioning (up to a certain limit but pretty generous). 

Positives: the campsite is located in a stunning and convenient location, has a lovely private beach directly accessible from the campsite, lots of trees/green around on the site and it was a quiet/peaceful site (no loud music or talking late at or during the night for example). The site is steep but we knew this in advance and were ok with this and the views from the campsite are amazing. 

Negatives: There are no kids clubs at all. The pools were ok but very cramped on hot sunny days. There weren't always enough sun beds and the sunbeds were uncomfortable. The pool slides are only open a couple of hours in the morning and the afternoon. For a site that has very limited kids activities, this is just disappointing and odd. The two small play grounds were tatty. You had to pay for everything, even the football table in the bar at the top of the campsite. It just felt unwelcoming and overly commercial. We unfortunately had some cloudy and rainy days during our stay and it was too cold to swim on those days. We had our own car and went out and about but the kids also wanted to stay put and relax. With there being nothing else to do on the campsite we decided to rent the tennis court for an hour (10 euros per hr), we brought our own tennis rackets and balls. The tennis court was very shabby and we were asked to vacate exactly after 1 hour even though it was slightly raining, there is nothing else to do on site and no one else wanted to use the court. Most of the staff at the campsite were polite but not friendly. 

The campsite management could do so much more to look after their guests and probably make more money by changing their business model. Have a lovely inviting bar, with a well kept play ground, free football tables and people will sit down and pay for drinks and snacks whilst their kids happily play. Have friendly and helpful staff who go the extra mile. A site were you feel made welcome. 

We will not return to this campsite nor recommend it. 

Stunning location, disappointing campsite

This was our first time on a camp site but we loved it! 
We are a family of four with two boys age 9 and 5. We booked through Canvas Holidays/Vacance Select and had a Moda caravan with a view that could sleep 7.
The caramel was clean and modern. There is an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and kettle. We had enough plates, cutlery, pans etc. could perhaps do with a few more utensils.
There is a small kettle bbq and charcoals, firefighters etc are available from the site shop.

The site is very hilly and steep with some tight corners for driving up the site. This allows for fantastic views! 

There are two pools both with slides and a splash park at one. My kids enjoyed both. We didn’t have an issue getting sun beds when we went to the pool.

There is no kids club but we didn’t need it. There is entertainment in the evening if weather allows.

The shop is well stocked and served our needs but there are plenty of supermarkets within 5-10 mins drive. Italmark, Aldi, Lidl.

There are pastries and fresh bread daily. The bar also serves pastries and offers a few different options and these are also warm.

The on site restaurant was nice. Standard Italian food at reasonable prices. You can walk up the hill at the side of the camp site to  other restaurants. We are of Restaurant Relax which was very nice. There is also a small pharmacy.

Walk down to Portese harbour to get the ferry, swim in the lake or eat in the restaurants. The restaurant on the left walking into the harbour also has a cafe to the right which serves toasties if you want a lighter, cheaper lunch. 

Overall we had a great time!

Camping Eden August 2023

We love this site due to it being on a hill with lovely views of the lake.  It would not be for everyone due to the climb up steep steps.  It is a quiet site with no loud music  or discos.  It has a lovely restaurant, but the menu is limited for gluten free options.  We stayed with Roan, having previously stayed with Canvas, and found them to be excellent hosts with new luxary caravans.

Great swimming pools, restaurant good, steep gradient site, NOISY!!! Private lakeside beach.

We have two eight year old children, there was a magician who visited the site twice during the 2 week stay, very mediocre. Sadly no kids club/ evening disco type entertainment. Play area was ok. 

Swimming pools had great water slides but the slides were only operating between 10am-12 and 3-5:30pm, I think that this is a cost saving measure, but cost cutting is in the wrong area. They should operate all day. 

We arrived on the 5th August and left on the 19th. Nearly every night was disturbed by loud music, the site is a quiet site, no noise after 11pm, this is sadly not the case. I know people want to enjoy holidays , but loud talking until 2, on one occasion loud music too. 

Also, on the lakeside loud dance music played each evening until the early hours, this was wearing and this alone would mean that I would not return to this site. I need a decent sleep 11-7 would be great! But not able to sleep until after 2 was a joke!

Sad to say, no return for us.

Good site, too noisy, so won’t return

Stayed here during August 2023 on our first trip to Italy with two children. Flew into Milan Bergamo, rented a car and drove to the campsite (approx. 1.5hrs with traffic). It was 32 degrees in the car so by the time we arrived with the two kids, we were hopeful of a quick and smooth check-in and a nice cabin at the end. Check-in at the main reception took 7-10minutes with all information provided efficiently and when we got to our cabin, we were in awe of the view 😍 (see first picture!). We booked the Giada cabin & asked for a view if possible but the view we got was incomparable. We spent the mornings boat watching, drinking coffee & eating pastries from the shop (get there at 8am, otherwise they’ll be gone!). We day-tripped to Salo, Gardaland & Gardena Riviera (the port down the road - 5min walk - has ferries which bring you all over the lake). The campsite pools were fab (swimming hat essential, even for babies but a non-issue for us) and the entertainment (music in the restaurant every second night or so from 8:30-10:30pm) added a lovely ambience as we could sit and listen on our terrace or go down with the kids for a late drink. The restaurant was lovely (large pizza €7) and had baby bowls of pasta etc. as options. We didn’t use the tennis court/ping-pong but was good to have the option. We used the shop most days and excluding premium imported products (Baked beans €3 per tin), everything else was pretty standard convenience prices (pastries €1.50, milk €2). It was also stocked with inflatables, water shoes, swim hats & toiletries/kitchen items so we knew we could pick things up there if we were stuck. Campsite is steep in places so near this is mind if you have mobility issues. We also recommend hiring a car to get there or organise transfers as form what we researched, buses/trains would take a while. 

Tips: Pay for air-con. You will need it! We topped up by €30 and this covered our entire stay (used liberally!!). Book direct with campsite & ask for a view (vacansoleil & ruan cabins had none but Camping Eden & Eurocamp Azure cabins did). Swim hats for the swimming pool (I don’t get the other reviews complaining about this. Lifeguard was great also!). Try the pastries but get there at 8am or they’ll be gone! :)
