Clean homely and a perfect stay..hosts are lovely and very helpful .. fanastic all in all perfect right in the middle of village balance on back is perfect to drink wine and eat.. but I do recommend on a car as taxis can be expensive. But if your a hiker it’s perfect here are there are neighbouring villages but I do recommend a translate on your phone learn some Italian as it will help as they don’t talk much English with is not so bad 

Fanastic appartment and hosts 

Little did I know I would be staying in the same apartment that Francis Ford Coppola stayed in when filming the Godfather in Savoca.  Beautiful views of mountain ranges and quaint villages. The Apartment is complete with kitchen, refrig. stove, pots, pans and utensils.  Nice size bedroom and bath with walk in shower.  Small continental breakfast at the pastry cafe across the street.  Owner and staff are friendly and very accommodating.
Bar Vitelli one of the movie location scenes is 3 doors down the street, The church where the wedding scene took place is at the top of the hill.  If you make it to Scily this is not to be over looked.

Coppola pilgrimage.

We decided at the last minute to stay for a night in Savoca. It was such a great decision as we had such a wonderful night. We were met by Cettina, who warmly welcomed us and showed us our large clean and comfortable room, complete with large balcony with views over the hills. Cettina recommended to have dinner at gelsonero, a local restaurant nearby, which was incredible- the best meal of our trip so far. The town is beautiful and it is worth staying to have some quiet time wandering the streets after the crowds have gone. Highly recommended! 

Wonderful part of the world 

We stayed in room 3, which was on the ground floor. Such a brilliant location, just a few paces from the bar in the main square, and close to the Church and everywhere you want to visit. The terrace was really large and very comfortable and had a wonderful view out towards Etna, which we enjoyed watching in the evenings when the clouds had lifted. In the early mornings I watched a lady tending her animals and smallholding in the valley just beneath our room. It was lovely to be part of the old town, in one of the old buildings overlooking the valley. Cettina, our host., was brilliant, and gave us lots of information on where to eat.  The room was large with lots of storage space.

There was a vape mat in the room to get rid of the mosquitoes, but we got bitten on the terrace so make sure you spray yourself with repellant.  It was a bit noisy at night as the vehicles on the road outside were quite noisy even though it seemed like a very small road.

I recommend the Panificio (bakery), 1, Via Pentifurri, just up the hill from where we stayed. They do wonderful loaves with tomato, cheese or vegetables added in.  Also the focaccia are absolutely delicious.  The first night we ate in the street with the locals.  On the final night we took one to our terrace.  We had two for two of us and they only cost 6 euros. 

We enjoyed making our own food (there is a fridge) and eating on the terrace. 

Thank you for a wonderful stay.  We hope to return one day.

Wonderful stay!

Lovely large room with great shower and a fabulous view from the balcony. 
Cetina the owner came very quickly when we phoned her to say we had arrived and showed us where to park the car. She showed us where to get breakfast across the road in a cafe with fantastic views. She also recommended a restaurant for the evening where we had a lovely meal. 

Lovely accommodation 

We rented the upper quarters for two nights and had a great stay. Spacious living room/kitchen, bedroom, and a terrace with great views over the hills and valley, with a clear view of Etna far off in the distance. Price worthy, clean, nothing to complain about. Breakfast incl on the bar next door was a bit too light for me tho, not much to chose between. There’s not much happening in Savoca in the evenings, but the hostess pointed us to a nice restaurant where we ate both evenings. Kitchen in the BNB, at least if you rent the upstairs, allows you to cook for yourself but there’s no food store in Savoca so you’ll have to make the groceries on your way. I’ll definitely come back if I go back to Sicily!

Nice and priceworthy

Wonderful village , perfect place to stay.
We enjoyed it and the owner was more than helpful and accommodating. We would return. The bathroom was great, room spacious and very clean. We had free wifi and a great deck with lots of ammentiries

We stayed here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary, Cettina, the owner was just amazing, we got back from breakfast to find she had left us a lovely bottle of wine, a gift and also when we went later for a meal she had arranged for a lovely bouquet of flowers to be delivered to us.  We had the such a great few days, will definitely come back.
