Blu Apartment

We stayed there for 2 nights with our 2 kids. The apartment is clean, well equipped and situated near the city centre. With parking and wifi- for free which is s big plus! 
The host was very welcoming and helpful. I would definately recommend this apartment!

We based ourselves at Blu Apartments for 3 nights to explore Sorrento,Capri and Pompeii. The location was fabulous,being literally a minutes walk from the beach. We stayed here as they had secure parking,which was great as the property was gated. The house is surrounded by lovely lemon trees,but bear in mind that there are a lot of mosquitos,so bring bug spray if you aren't a fan! The house had insect screens over the windows and they certainly were not a problem inside. The apartment was well equipped,and the air conditioning worked great which is a must as the temperature rises. There was also a washing machine which was fabulous once we figured out the right settings. 
We had a bit of difficulty finding the property,but this was mainly due to missing the turn as it was blocked by a van and it has petrol pumps on one side. If you are driving in through the town,after the last block of shops it is the first immediate left in front of the petrol station/pumps and its a switchback under the road you would have been driving on. We parked the car and were glad to not have to get in it again for a few days after experiencing some very interesting and challenging roads and drivers!
We did a day trip to Capri on a private boat which we would thoroughly recommend. Booked it at the information centre in the town - 75 euros per person but we were picked up and dropped off,there is no more than 12 people on the boat and drinks/snacks provided. We went along the Sorrento coast,around Capri and the Grottos and then had some time in Capri itself. Fabulous day and well worth the extra money. We also did a day trip to Pompeii which involved getting to a hotel by 8am,but the first bus up the hill to town is at 7.30am so it wasn't a problem. The buses went roughly every half hour if you didn't fancy the walk up. 
Be sure to mention what time you are arriving as the reception doesn't have anyone there,someone comes to meet you. I had read reviews where people were complaining about this,but it is self-catering apartments,and if you had problems there was a number to call,which I always got an answer on with someone who spoke english.

Lovely stay in Sorrento

Very pleasant stay!

Firstly, the impression on the website that these are apartments is very misleading. 
We stayed in two different rooms (not apartments). The first was small but nice on our day of arrival due to a water leak in our booked room (quoted on the website and booked as "Superior") The second room was bigger and equally pleasant with a slanted loft ceiling, neither room could be quantified as an apartment though.
There is a third floor and what looks like it could be an apartment with a full length balcony which could well be what is advertised in the websites pictures but it is not representative of what the average booking will be so be warned!
Rooms are fairly modern, air conditioned but while the small room had a nice walk out balcony the larger one had 2 ship style round windows although these could be opened.
Having said they are modern, our tap fell off on the third day (though fixed by the evening) and some fixtures were loose.
The main point here is they are hotel style rooms of an average apartment standard. Apartment may suggest that you have your own cooking facilities - you don't, there is a TV and a small fridge and in the larger room, a couch. Rooms are cleaned, towels changed etc. supposedly daily, but the maid didn't bother for three days and had a horrific, surly nature to her.
The website also states wi-fi. It does indeed have wifi but the reception is pretty poor and you get knocked out frequently and it takes an age to even open a news page on a phone. Don't think you'll be using this for downloading films, it just won't happen.
The positives: it is central, it is a bit cheaper than most, it's quiet inside however the square is noisy outside from 6am with deliveries, road cleaners and late at night with teenagers. Plenty of car noise too on what isn't a busy road as such, but will annoy you if you have no patience for the lively Italian daily street life.
The reception, which is an office isn't manned constantly and the the guy who had that job while we were there (Gianluca) can be contacted on the phone number displayed outside. He was quick to answer or return our calls and very helpful.
In summary, the stay was nice, 2nd floor is only a short staircase away, clean room and good for a quiet, independent stay. It is not an apartment though! Great central location with a bus to the Marina Grande or west towards the Amalfi coast literally just outside.
