BEWARE! This place is the absolute worst, they are deceptive and not empathetic at all. I have travelled quite extensively and I have never had to leave an accommodation early until now. Short version, the bathroom had mold as you’ll see in the photos and videos, the hotel refused to refund me a single dime when I stated my desire to leave and I had to leave anyways losing all the money I put into my four nights there plus the city tax fee they refused to refund as well. Longer version, after stating that I had mold in the restroom the receptionist Laura lied to my face and told me that what the bathroom had was not mold despite the photos and videos I showed her, she was not empathetic at all and I felt she was quite rude and dismissive of my concerns. She offered to switch our rooms which I agreed to before we left to the amalfi coast for the day where we would be out of cell service for most of the day. The hotel messaged me via the booking app asking me to confirm that I wanted to switch rooms when they knew I wouldn’t have service, and they told me I had less than two hours to respond in order to have our rooms switched. Naturally I didn’t respond, when I got back we still had the same room and they cleaned up the bathroom but it STILL had mold and they simply painted over the black mold on the ceiling YUCK! We got on the phone with booking and got a new place to stay for the remaining three nights. These crooks took not only our money for the reservation but they also charged us the city fee for all 4 nights despite our only staying there one night. I don’t wish bad on anyone so for that reason I hope you think twice before booking with this establishment.

Worst experience of my life

Very small room for 4 people, like 3x3! Comfortable beds. Careful and dry room, but needs some interventions in the WC Well located and central, close to the station and bus. We didn't have Wi-Fi for the last 2 days which caused me some discomfort, I had an online meeting. I had to connect my data 🙄! Nice and helpful staff.

Small room for 4 people, poor daily cleaning of the room and bathroom, poor breakfast, arrogant staff, unprofessional and unreliable structure.

Overall I would recommend it as a budget option. Just make sure you know how to enter the building & how to find the reception. 

We booked about 3 days in advance and arrived around 2pm on the day. Haven’t received a message beforehand to explain how to enter the building (they need to give you a code for each door). There was no bell to Casa Laura, only a huge amount of other bells. We messaged the host and the person who was messaging us back only spoke Italian. Eventually someone was entering the building so we took a chance. There was also no explanation inside the building of how to find the reception. Eventually again - someone was leaving and told us. There’s another hotel/ apartment name next to Casa Laura on the wall of the building outside (call that other one!), we later found out it was the same company. Only they didn’t let ppl know.  

The room was clean and nice for what we paid. 
One of the plugs didn’t work, my friend plugged hair dryer and couldn’t pull it out so just left it there. The dryer was cold air only btw. 
The door to the room was broken so we had slight issues opening them each time. We always did eventually, but still, why not just fix it? 
No kettle in the room, no coffee (that’s an Italian thing tho, same in other hotels). No breakfast included for us so there’s a restaurant downstairs on the street as you exit the building, run by a couple who owns the rooms too. They are very nice. You get your breakfast there and pay no more than E5.

Nice place with hard entry

We spent a great week at Casa Laura in half-retirement. The owners are kind and available, the cleanliness is good, the location close to the centre and the station. The attached restaurant is great. The only new thing, so to speak, is the proximity to the train tracks, which do not run at night.

Great location and kindness

Clean and spacious room, located behind the Circumvesuviana station, very convenient to reach for those who use that means and a few hundred meters from the city center.

The weekend in Sorrento

would not recommend! STAY AWAY my sister and I stayed here for 3 nights while staying here my jacket was robbed from the room which had money in the pocket nothing else was taking from the room and the only people to have access to the room was myself my sister and the maid, there was one maid on all week and when we informed reception they were very unhelpful laughing at the matter insisting we misplaced it which we didnt, the jacket contained money for our last day, also there was no warm water during our stay and we had to take cold showers, we also were not informed their would be a cleaner and also did not have the option to put a “do not disturb” sign on the door to even prevent anyone from entering the room,stay away! Not safe! DO NOT RECOMMEND

Would give negative stars if possible.

I paid for a room at Casa Laura however, I was given a room in the hostel. When I spoke to the girl at reception she said 
that "it's all the same". The hotel and the hostel both have their own pages on booking.com and the hotel costs a higher price. If hotels and hostels were the same, why would I ever book into a hotel?
Hotels are expected to be of a higher quality and a more luxurious experience, hence why we booked the hotel.

This was not the only problem with our stay. I came in from the beach and wanted to shower before going to dinner but there was no hot water. I brought this up with reception and waited for 1 hour. There was still no water and I had to go out for dinner without showering. Not that it would have mattered at there is no shampoo/shower gel provided. I'm sure no tourist books a hotel and then runs to the shop to buy shampoo - this defeats the purpose of a hotel and is expected to be included in the price of a stay at a hotel.

After dinner we came home to sleep. The room smelled disgusting and when we lay down, the bed was hard as a board. There is no way anyone could actually sleep on this bed so the two of us had to squeeze into one single bed. The other one was slightly better but most definitely not comfortable by any stretch of the imagination. Worse still, when we woke up we found the bed to be covered in bed bugs (!?!?!) and the sheets were stained with blood at the bottom

I have emailed the hotel with these issues and have not gotten any response - they have not even said they would sort out the bed bug infestation.

There is so many nicer places in Sorrento, book something worth your money.

Disgusting - do not stay here

Unlike what was proposed, or ideal for families, this rental room is not suitable for families. It has many flaws such as approximate cleanliness, noise (looking over the Circumvesuviana), the lack of toilet facilities with sloppy and neglected furniture and toilet services.

Not suitable

The best, the location and the staff. Located a few minutes from the train station and the main street Il Corso. The staff very warm, concerned at all times and willing to answer questions and questions. Giovanna, in charge of the reception, the best. Very kind and friendly. Besides, she speaks Spanish very well, which, although it seems rare, is difficult to find.
