We stayed here for three nights in June 22, based on reviews.
We are really glad we did, the b&b is in a great location with plenty of free parking nearby.
It was clean, the room was a good size and the breakfast lovely.
The hosts are very nice. 
If you are going to the beach nearby, they had plenty of parasols etc that other clients had left for you to use. As the place is central, you can walk to places for dinner , though check when they are open first.
Book this place with confidence.

Happy we stayed here

An exceptional accommodation for the stay in north of Sardinia. Giovanni and Cristina are kind and warm hosts, they share their sorties and they are curious about their guests stories. We had a beautiful room with a small balcony overlooking the square with the church in the background. We enjoyed every minute spent there. Waking up in the room that had a beautiful painted ceiling was a memorable experience. Breakfast was mind-blowing, composed with homemade ingredients.  We couldn’t have asked for more from the first visit to Sardinia.

An unique gem of Sorso, must try when in Sardinia

We had a great stay at this wonderfull B&B. It looks fantastic and has a incredible authentic atmosphere. Our room, we stayed in the family room, was huge and looked like it came straight out of a classic italian movie. High ceilings, incredible floors and wonderfull painted walls. We had a bedroom, hallway, bathroom, sitting area and a spacious balcony. Everything was very clean and neat. All the common areas were beautifully decorated as well. 

Every morning we looked forward to the breakfast on the rooftop terrace. The spread at breakfast was amazing. Fresh fruit, yoghurt, home made jams and honey, italian style boiled eggs, breads, cheeses and salame. The coffee was the best we had so far in Italy. 

Giovanni and Cristina were fantastic hosts. They made the great breakfast every morning, had good tips on where to go for the day and what restaurants to visit at night. He is always available for questions you might have during the day. 

We would definitely recommend the B&B piazza San Pantaleo to everybody who is going to be visiting the north of Sardinia.

Amazing B&B

It’s about senses!
You cannot make a basic touristic review about piazzasanpantaleo because it’s not just a destination of a touristic tour. Piazzasanpantaleo it’s about your senses. 

What you see? You see an authentic Sardinia with carefully preserved buildings, in the same arrangement as hundreds years ago. You can imagine you step into one of these buildings, which is completely updated to the 2018 comfort but in whose architecture and delightful small details you can find living floors with original colorful ceramic tiles respectfully preserved, proud corridors with vaults conventionally called halls and ceilings which were restored where possible, artistic decorative paintings, while in the accommodating interior spaces you can find pieces of furniture skillfully preserved and integrated in the living areas ensuring the actual comfort? 

What you hear? How it would be like to wake up in the morning, open the window and become confused, in the sense of an extraordinary surprise (because in your room is so quiet)!You don’t know if you should be fascinated by the sound of the local people’s steps confidently walking to the San Pantaleo Church (placed in the corner of your left eye) or by the murmur of the small stores keepers and their clients or of the quiet bistros where the Sardinians enjoy their coffee and cake (in the corner of your right eye) … or to assimilate the daily life of a small piazza in a beautiful Sardinian city which unreal deploys in front of you like in a movie directed by an Italian director (whatever his name is). Suddenly, the time measure: the bell of the church tower (yes, the one on your left); you are completely surprised, you didn’t know it is functional, but you realize it is breakfast time.

What you taste? (at breakfast) 4-5 cheese types (sheep, cow, old cow, fresh cheese, maturated cheese, aromatic cheese, my favorite “old pecorino”), meat products “specialita sarde” (salsiccia contadino is incredible), traditional “cookies sardes”, fresh fruits, homemade yoghurt…and not to forget the honey and comfiture (about 6-7 types). You cannot believe this small feast is happening at the last floor of the building, on an opened terrace (partially covered to avoid the sun to wake up for good), with an unreal image in front of you of stylish roofs and terraces of an old Italian district, beyond which one could discover the sea. Suddenly, the time measure: you rediscover the bell of the church tower … you are somehow closer to it. 

What you can do? You feel like a resident of the city in the ambiance of the accommodation and you would like to return to your room or to one of the relaxing spaces in the building to enjoy a photo or graphic album of some local artists (available allover within the building), but you are still aware that you are just a tourist.  Therefore, you stay more at breakfast to enjoy the coffee with Giovani and Cristina, the extraordinary owners of this “palazzo”. They will tell you about Vale dela Luna (in Santa Teressa di Galura), about Monte D’Accodi (the only Ziggurat in Europe), about Monteleone Rocca Doria rhight in your way to Bosa (where, if you stick to the itinerary recommended by Giovani, you will have the revelation of the Paradise), about Nuraghi or about the wind direction so you can fully enjoy your visit to Spiaggia La Pelosa or Spiaggia Rena Majori della Nurra.

We have asked them about the “black Madonna” (of which we saw a statue in Alghero Cathedral) and their short history about the two similar representations of the divinity – Madonna di Valverde (nearby located) and the one of the Basilica di Bonaria in Cagliari was really fascinating so the only thing you could think about was to take your car and go to the capital of the island right away. 

It’s about friendship: we came for the second time in Sardinia and we choose the same hosts given the extraordinary experience we had the first time. Again, we followed Giovani’s recommendations to discover the island and to get in contact with some amazing locals: Vittorio from a small store in Sorso selling traditional products, Nino who advised us to chose one of the best wines Canonau, the owner of Da Magnatia store in Sassari selling different types of cheese and sausages or the owner of L’Imperfetto Trattoria in Castelsardo and not to forget the incredible Riccardo, the owner of a beautiful taverna in Magomadas, close to Bosa, where we have experienced an extraordinary Sardinian dinner!)

PS: Touristic speaking, the place is in a very safe community so you can enjoy late walks on the streets; also there is no problem in finding a parking near the accommodation regardless the hour. As for the comfort aspects of the location, they are well beyond the indicated level.


That feeling when you are visiting a friend

As soon as you enter this beautiful building, you feel like you've stepped back into a different period of time!
The love and careand detail that have gone into this BnB is really something to be experienced. From the furniture to the authentic decor you can feel how it was to live back in days gone by.

The owners are lovely hosts and only too willing to help make your stay a good one.

The bedroom was big, the bathroom had a powerful shower, the a/c was great and the old fashioned windows blocked any noise from outside. Even the church didn't ring until about 7 and didn't disturb our sleep.
Breakfast was different everyday, not huge portions but you didn't leave feeling hungry.

It's not true what someone wrote about Sorso being boring. It's a lovely old town, so nice to see the real Sardinia. The little old streets are bustling with cafes, terraces full of people catching up with friends. It's very family orientated with plenty of places to eat.
We had a wonderful time!


Step back in time in this adorable bnb

If you choose this B&B you can feel back in time to the '20es. Unbelivebly detailed and awesome accomodation in the veary heart of the city. Giovanni has all the information you may need around Sorso and Sardinia. The breakfast is served at the roof with sardinian specialities.The rooms are spotless with A/C ,but Wi-Fi avaliable in the community area. The best option to stay in the area.

Brilliant accomodation, absolutely unique

Giovanni provides an experience not to be missed at this B and B in the heart of Sorso. The building itself has been restored keeping many of the original features. Our bedroom had a small balcony which overlooked the square. The room was large with effective air conditioning. There is a roof terrace where breakfast is served and you have access to. The breakfast is another amazing experience with homemade fruit compotes,cheese, salami, yoghurt, bread and local pastries. Giovanni will help you to find beaches which are not overcrowded even at the height of summer. He will also recommend places to visit. We had a car, parking was easy on the square or behind the church. We also used the train to go to Sassari. In the kitchen there is a large dining table where you can eat if you wish and access to a fridge, freezer, cutlery, glasses and a sink. We had a great time here and would recommend this B and B to any couples travelling in this area as a base to explore the region.

Great experience

What an amazing surprise, in the small town of Sorso, Northwest Sardegna, between Castelsardo and Alghero, we arrive at the main square. Right by the church, name giver to the B&B we find this beautiful house of our fantastic hosts Giovanni and Cristina. The beauty and surprises lay in the small hidden details, the intriguing decorations and harmonious style in which all rooms and common places are designed. To top it all the breakfast served on the rooftop terrace with a stunning view on the roofs of Sorso and of course... The ocean! All of this completed by the excellent hosting by Giovanni & Cristina, the really tasty breakfast... Finally, I want to assure you that this is our opinion, even if may think it sounds too good to be true: we definitely fell like we were in little corner of paradise!
