We found La Poggiolaia online and planned our daughter’s wedding at this beautiful piece of paradise. It was everything we hoped it would be and more. The apartments are all stunning, the views across the valley stunning and so peaceful. The gardens magnificent and the location central to so much in Tuscany. Paolo was so generous and friendly and tolerant of our small noisy kids running around the place. Gina and her team were so very very helpful and nothing was too much for them to assist us with wedding arrangements and general help. Planning a wedding or just for a holiday, I cannot recommend La Poggiolaia more highly. We stayed for two weeks. The holiday was truly memorable, topped off with the wedding. Thank you Paola and Gina.

Perfect Piece of Paradise in Tuscany

We stayed here with friends. It is a beautiful area and the rooms are lovely. Our apartment had two bedrooms at each had its own full bath. We also had a small kitchenette, dining area and sitting area. They also have a washing machine that guest may use. They provide each apartment with a hanging rack or if the weather is wet, items may be hung in the basement. They have beautiful grounds and a swimming pool when the weather is warm. We hope to be able to stay here again.

Perfectly lovely!

This is the 7th time I have brought a small group to La Poggiolaia.  That alone should speak volumes about how I feel when vacationing here in the heart of Tuscany.   Paola and Gina are simply wonderful and do everything within their power to make the stay relaxing.  And the views!!!  My goodness, if you were writing an advertisement for the Chianti Chamber of Commerce, you could simply show the people the beautiful views of rolling hills, olive trees, vineyards and towns like San Gimignano.  A place to fall in love with.

Home Away from Home

We really loved our stay at La Poggiolaia. Staff is kind and hospitable, the location is great and about 30 mins drive from many places and is comfortable for a family to stay. We used the kitchen and were able to cook some of our meals there. Would definitely come back in the future. 

Great Tuscany vacation spot

The friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the villas were amazing. The pool and views from tables was something not to be forgotten.  

I would absolutely recommend this property for anyone visiting Tuscany region.

Felt like home

We came to Tuscany to celibrate my 60th birthday with the whole family.
La Capanna en Mahonia fully fulfilled our expectations. We have been here 10 years ago en we expect tot come back again. The views, the pool en the house (airconditioned) are the best there is.
If I have to make a recommandation, the kitchen equipment is a bit basic. We did the cooking ourselves en missed a few items.
The wine tasting at 'Íl Pozzo' we can recommand.

Perfect family holiday

The Capanna house fulfilled our best dreams for relaxing in Tuscany. The house is big, comfortable, and perfect for family gatherings. The view is stunning. The hosts were extremely welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. 

Perfect Tuscan Villa

We loved everything about our time at  La Poggiolaia!   What a  beautiful area.  We chose to take day trips for each of our 5 days there, but if one wanted to just relax, La Poggiolaia couldn't be a better spot.  The pool and gardens are lovely and accommodations are very comfortable.  Gina and Paola were so welcoming and  helpful.   Thank you, thank you!  We hope to be back one day.

Amazing time for three generations!

Our group of art friends basked in the beauty and culinary delights of this special magical land. This is an unforgettable setting for a masterpiece of a vacation. ...we painted, we laughed, and we dined.

Tuscan Splendor

We booked La Poggiolaia in January for a trip in September and luckily we were able to fly to Pisa, hire a car and make our way through the wonderful scenery to Certaldo. On arrival at the big gates we were greeted by Gina, who had been expecting us and she showed us around the apartments and grounds. The place was spectacular and the first thing we noticed was the quietness with just a gentle whisper from the breeze. We were so relieved that after lockdown and travel restrictions that we were finally here at such a beautiful place! The owner Paola, who lives on site is a very elegant woman and extremely professional, it was a pleasure to meet her and chat on several occasions.  The apartments are large with 2 bathrooms each, outside seating back and front and on the lawns overlooking the vineyards. The large swimming pool was exceptionally clean and cared for by Gina along with the grounds and housekeeping. Due to COVID-19 we were allocated specific sun beds which were in an amazing spot. We swan every day as the weather was glorious. In Certaldo there is a Coop where we shopped for fresh ingredients to cook every day. It was such a pleasure to have a swim, a relax and a stroll back to the apartment to open a bottle of local wine to have with lunch on our shaded terrace. Travelled out and about too, to Florence and neighbouring hilltop villages and although we were offered a free wine tasting by Paola at the sister property Il Pozzo, we just didn't have time between relaxing and sightseeing to fit in! But we will next time we return! Highly recommended properties in a fabulous spot on the hills overlooking vineyards and olive groves - what could be better!
