From the first day we arrived with our one year old child, we felt welcome. Nothing is too much and the excellent hospitality of Antonio and his fantastic team gives you a true Italian holiday feeling.
The fact that there are only 6 apartments and a swimming pool gives you a feeling of rest and makes you relax. 
The food in the nighttime, often cooked by Franco is delicious and not expensive.
All with all, this is a place gives you good value for money and perfect for families. Within 20 minutes you're on a white sand beach with green/blue water.

Great and perfect for families

I travel a lot and generally give places I stay the benefit of the doubt, especially for the first day or two, but unfortunately Villa Smeralda had too many problems. First of all, on the map it looks like it’s located on a minor road in the countryside, and it advertises as such, but in reality the apartments are separated from the road only by some plants and a small parking area and the many cars commuting to Olbia and trucks transporting granite from the quarries make a lot of noise. The traffic was so loud that if we left the windows open or sat at the table on the veranda we’d have to interrupt our conversation every time a car or truck passed. It’s unfortunate because the area surrounding the B&B (though I’m not sure why it’s called a B&B because there is no breakfast!) is beautiful and would be peaceful without the traffic.
So if you’re not bothered by the sound of traffic, there are other reasons I can’t recommend Villa Smeralda. Credit must be given where credit is due and the grounds are kept extremely well – the flowers, plants, pool, bar area, etc. are beautiful. If only that could be said of the apartment! When there is a problem or two, or even three or four, I try to be understanding but this apartment had so many defects: the dining room chairs had seats covered in plastic wrap that was ripped, the handles to the cabinets were broken, light bulbs were missing from the ceiling lights, water came out of the side of the kitchen sink faucet, the sofa bed was a joke (my son is light so he managed to sleep on it but it creaked and made noise every time he moved and if you sat in the wrong place the whole thing would collapse on you!), there was a plastic bottle top and hair on the floor in the bedroom, one bedside lamp had the lampshade taped together with brown packaging tape and the other had a broken plug, the curtains had stains on them and the bar holding them up was taped to the wall with the same brown packaging tape, three of the four drawers in the chest of drawers didn’t work, the sheets were of the poorest quality and had clearly been bought and put on the bed without having been rinsed or washed, the bathroom mats were dirty, the flush plaque for the toilet came off every time we flushed, and I could go on. 
We wrote an email sharing these issues and pictures and sent it to the email address that had been used to sent us information about our stay. We received no reply. We shared our concerns with the on-site administrator who did his best to make a few improvements. I should say that the three on-site personnel were kind but not responsive enough. Not only were we not offered any sort of discount for the sorry state of the apartment, but when I paid via wire transfer (the same way I’d paid the deposit, and in light of what I’d read in reviews in order to avoid having to pay cash) I actually had to fight with the person who runs the website who had not replied to our complaint email. The had provided NO information about how payment should be made, expected us to know it had to be cash and actually expected us to drive 40 min to Olbia and back that day and the following morning to go to a cash machine because it would take two withdrawls to get enough cash to pay! We refused and they eventually gave up. 
So, to sum up we paid a lot of money for a place that was beautiful on the outside but a terrible mess on the inside (where we actually had to live). The place has potential, but is run poorly – and I honestly believe this is due more to the owners than the actual people on site who did seem to be as helpful as possible. 
And how could I forget? The Internet connection was terrible. We ended up using our roaming service to write the complaint email and make the bank transfer.

Will not return, would not recommend

Highly recommended plaice, couples, singles or family if you looking for relax, great food and beautiful wild holiday! Apartments has everything what you will need for your stay! Just please learn at least couple Italian words, as they don't speaks any other language.
