Outstanding, well run small family hotel. The owners are genuinely nice people with their client’s interests at heart. The hotel was very clean and comfortable and Georg’s 5-course dinners were incredible. The hotel is well situated for visiting the region and countless trails are readily accessible. We very much hope to be able to return next year. 

The best small, family run hotel

Warmly welcomed by Mathilda then shown to our lovely room with the most fantastic views of the Dolomites. In the evenings we had delicious, home-cooked 5 course meals & in the mornings excellent breakfasts. The family & staff were so friendly & helpful, printing the menu in English for us & helping with directions. The room was spacious & spotless & had a balcony to make the most of the views. 

Perfect hotel

Taking a break from an arduous, arid and challenging environment could not have been spent in a better place than Tiers. We loved this place and it’s magnificent and breathtaking scenery and captivating walks. Hilde and her family were wonderful hosts and looked after our every need. Their warmth and hospitality ensured we felt like we were staying with family. The food was wonderful and plentiful and ensured we were fuelled for our next day of walking. Hotel Stefaner is perfectly situated to explore this area with easy access to tracks and public transport. We would love to return one day.

Fresh Air, Grand Views, Solitude and Wonderful Hospitality

Spent a week for winter holiday here.  Unfortunately that week, we were not blessed with a lot of snow so now cross country skiing possible.  But nevertheless, thanks to the ever so friendly owners of the hotel, we were able to do fantastic walks in the area (an upside to too little snow :-) ) and they lent us some crampons to tackle the more difficult parts of some walks.  5 course dining every evening, excellent cuisine.  Good wine selection and cosy dining room.  All in all, a wonderful experience.

Home away from home

Picked the Stefaner and location from reviewing various travel books and guides.  Couldn't have done better. Spotless, charming  tirolian facility and the food out of this world.  Hospitality is pleasant, professional and the hotel is a family operation.   Only down fall is that the wifi doesn't reach all the guest-rooms.  Works well in the common areas.  The location, with views of the rosegarten, outstanding.  World class. Highly recommended.


Tirol at its best

The US Snowboarding Team was in the Dolomites for our Junior World Championships and learned the day before our arrival that the hotel we had booked in a neighboring town was closing for the season. We contacted Mathilde and the Hotel Stefaner and were accommodated beautifully and with exceptional food. For a group of 5 teenagers and 4 adults, the family was very gracious to welcome us into their hotel and take care of every need of ours, which I'm sure were new requests in many cases! From early morning breakfasts to the need for great internet, everything was perfect for our stay and we would stay again and again!
