My partner and I just returned from two nights here and could happily have stayed more. From the moment you arrive you sink straight into the total peace and quiet of the surroundings. Emilia and her team have created somewhere that maintains its historical features but with all the comforts you would expect. Our room was cosy, very clean and felt homely, the bed very comfortable. You are just half an hour from Matera which is well worth the visit.
We stayed half board and the food was incredible. Breakfast was delicious, lots of choice from freshly baked cakes and pastries plus fruit, omelettes, yogurt and of course almonds from their own farm. Dinner was five or six courses where we enjoyed pecorino with chutney, delicious pastas, meat, seafood and desserts. Their chef Francesco makes the food worth the visit alone but the beauty, peaceful location and hospitality make it perfect. Not to mention the wonderful wine - we were unsure of the price and a little worried it could be expensive only to discover it was just €4 a glass! Would highly recommend this place for a few nights of relaxation, thank you Emilia and team, we hope to come back. 

Perfect Puglia relaxation

My husband and I  stayed here for 4 nights in April.  It was a beautiful, tranquil place and we enjoyed our evening strolls amongst the olive and almond trees.  Rooms were very quiet, very comfortable and clean.  Breakfasts were delicious- gorgeous portions of fresh fruit, omelettes and cake!  We had dinner here each night and were fortunate to be there for the Easter lunch.   These meals were a highlight of our holiday.  The care and attention  given by Francesco in the kitchen was amazing and the food was excellent.  The owner and in particular,  her husband were very welcoming and full of useful information.  With a car ,  it is well situated for visiting Bari, Trani, Matera, and   Alta Mura.

So lovely!

We were staying 2 days first half of September. When we arrived at noon, we even were offered to have lunch, which was excellent. Chef Paldera prepared such a good lunch that we decided to have dinner both nights as well at the Maseria. Meat and pasta were outstanding. Emilia and her husband, who is a professor, were very friendly. The professor told us so much about the region that we could easily follow all his advices on our tour to Apulia. A visit of the Maseria was included in his service. All these positive aspects overlocked the breakfast, which was a little bit chaotic and poor... Rooms were clean and lovely. The Food was outstanding!

We spent a wonderful few days at Masseria Storica Pilapalucci in October.  Surrounded as far as the eye can see by olive and almond trees, we were able to unwind in peace and quiet after a hectic few days of travelling. Our hosts looked after us superbly, with creative and delicious food and fine wines. Great places to visit nearby are Altamura, Matera, Bari and Giovinazzo. We hope to be back!

Fabulous food in tranquil surroundings.

The care and attention given to guests is exceptional.  We enjoyed a  lovely week here and after our first excellent dinner took advantage of the slow cooked dining experience every single night - vegetarian options are SUPERB !! 

The rooms are lovely - bedecked with tasteful antique furnishings, spacious and comfortable. There is no aircon - but the rooms are cool as the impressive place is built out of solid golden stone atop a huge former stable area.  

A nice small pool to splash into as required - nice for an early morning dip.  Great location to strike out around the deep south of Italy - you will need a rental car - it is quite remote - which we loved  and if you are a foodie you can make special arrangements for a cookery course.  Sheffield's own son - Gino di Campo used the venue in his TV show - great taste !!

A lovely place at the heart of an olive and almond plantation

This masseria was a highlight of our road trip through Puglia.  Chef Francesco's food deserves all the raves and more - we kept a food journal through our trip to track recipes and cooking ideas, but when it came to the dinners at Pilapalucci, we wrote some short notes, and then just put it aside to enjoy what might be a couple nights of the best dinners in the most incredible setting we'll ever get to experience.  The masseria itself is a beautiful family estate with a long history.  Rooms were very comfortable and there was a huge deck and patios overlooking the 'mare di olivia' (sea of olive trees).  it was so peaceful and some comfortable, we were sad to transition back to the busier world.  Yet, very easy to get to the coast as well as other important and interesting sites.  the owners are extremely helpful with trip planning as well as information about the local area.  I expect we may plan a trip specifically to come back here.  
Also, a note that the pool was not particularly clean so I didn't use it either - but I honestly didn't care since the coast was so easy to get toand the Adriatic water is utterly divine.

Absolute trip highlight for food and accomodation

I hate to complain but feel certain things need pointing out.  Before that though, we thoroughly enjoyed Francesco Paldero's fabulous cooking - 5 star dining.
Problems:    Not only dirty pool, the poor pool man had no idea how to clean it.   Perhaps I should have helped him but I was on holiday.   They should call someone in to show him.   One of my friends had a bare light bulb at her bedside light.    Another friend had a dirty shower.    Our early breakfast was prepared the night before but the coffee mugs were too large to fit under the coffee machine - we had to use our tooth glasses..........

More attention to detail required .......

Really lovely place to stay although rather difficult to find.  We stopped here for five nights and had a relaxing time. It is also a good base for exploring the surrounding area as there is a lot to see.  The food was some of the best we have ever tasted and the service was also excellent.  My only criticism is that the plunge pool wasn't ready and as the weather was very hot it would have been much appreciated.
