We have arrived at 2:00 am at the reception, because we could not check-in on the hotel we have previously booked. The hotel staf was very receptive and offered us a great room with gorgeous sea view. We had a great stay, the room was nice and breakfast delicious (great coffee).

Flexibility

I chose this hotel a few years ago as an easy location on the beach for my parents and I keep coming back for the great hospitality, flexibility, service and food... I would also add professionalism in the way the hotel is run... I was there 2 weeks ago and I will go back this week-end... great rooms and at the last minute... that is what I call a fantastic service! It is like being with an extended family... Do not miss it!!!

Great hospitality, flexibility, service and food

The Hotel
The hotel is not so new, and it is part of the charm of course. Wear and tear was easy to notice.The elevator was slow and small.

The personnel
The season was just starting, everything was a bit slow, but it was improving rapidly. Everybody was really friendly and helpful. The feeling was nice and easygoing. The receptionist helped us to get bus tickets to Savona (all tobacco shops sell those tickets, my wife knew that, I didn't).

The food
We had breakfast and dinner at hotel (part of the price). Breakfast was sufficient, one kind of cheese and one kind of ham, two kind of juice (orange and grape) several kind of jams and marmalade, two kind of bread, some sweet pastry, coffee (several kind), tee and hot chocolate. Sometimes fruits, different sort of youghort and that is it. 
Dinner was OK, but nothing special. All eligible. Service was really chaotic during the first dinner, but the MD got his crew under control and then the service was fast and correct. Probably we were the 1st group during this season. 

The Bar
I suppose that the name was Atlantic Bar, but I'm not sure. First you must find some one to serve you, then you can buy everything (legal) under the sun. The interior is quite robust, but who cares!

The Room
The room was quite primitive, three beds, one double and one single. Mattress was good. Note that the shower cabin was dangerously slippery, same as the whole bathroom floor. Beware! Housekeeping was good. We had the room to the street, it was noisy during the day, but silent during nights, and that is the main thing.

The WiFi
It worked well at the lobby but only sometimes at the room. If you want to be sure to get the connection, go downstairs.

Spring holiday

The 4 stars are questionable - but this is Italy... If it was not directly on the beach it would probably be a 3 star, but, hey, it is directly on the beach - and I think it is the only hotel in Varazze that is!! Also they have parking!!  The room was clean and the bed and sheets were good quality.  The bathroom was also very clean, and the towels were nice.  The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.   Most of the furniture in the hotel is quite dated and should be replaced but it is functional.  There are probably cheaper and more modern hotels in Varazze but if you want to be right on the beach this is the place to stay!  

Beach front hotel

It is the oldest hotel I have ever stayed in. It is really a shock to keep this kind of hotel still open . You feel that the hotel is falling down, no maintenance at all...never again , how did they get 4 stars, may be felt down from the sky .
