The property has closed down.  I am awaiting my refund of pre-booked accommodation.

From their cancellation email:

Dear Guests,

We are really sorry to advise you that, against our will, from August 14th 2018 we are obliged to close Ca’ Granda Venice Apartments.

For this reason we have proceeded with the cancellation of all reservations with check-in from 13th August 2018.

All guests who have already paid a fee will be refund.

They Have Closed Down

I am also waiting on a refund of my deposit. 

Has anyone else received a response from the Hotel? 

I have sent a number of emails but no reply from them. They should at least reply to acknowledge they are receiving my emails.

No response from the Hotel

We loved our stay at Ca'Granda.  From booking through to check in/out communication was clear and prompt.  The apartment was as it appears in the photos with the owners taking a lot of pride in their accomodation.  The apartment was clean tidy and comfortable.  Location was great, a quite corner of Venice with everything you need with in short walking distance.  I would highly recommend.

Fantastic stay in Venice

We stayed at Ca' Granda apartments on our first trip to Venice and it was the perfect place. The apartment was in an excellent location - easy walking distance to all the sites but away from the main hustle and bustle and noise. Location was right next to a vaporetto stop, although we walked everywhere. Our host was easy to work with, meeting us as soon as we arrived from the airport and even carried my luggage to the apartment. 

We stayed in the Casanova apartment and it was beautiful and spacious for our family of four. Nice size bedrooms on opposite ends of the apartment; nice size bathrooms. Very clean. Wifi was a bit spotty. The best part was the view of the canal - especially from the master bedroom. I enjoyed watching the canal traffic morning and night. The only issue we had was that the washing machine was broken, but our host offered to wash our clothes for us so it worked out fine. We would chose to stay here again without hesitation the next time we are in Venice and would recommend it for anyone looking for an apartment to stay in.

Perfect! (great apartment & great location)

We had to cancel our stay at these apartments some months ago . We were advised that it would take 60 days from the cancel date for refund of deposit to be made .We are now far beyond the 60 days and no sign of the refund . I sent an e mail marked urgent requesting when the refund would be made but have had no reply . Has anyone else had problems obtaining refund of deposit from CA GRANDA ?

Refund of deposit problem ?

As an hotel lover was a bit dubious of staying in an apartment. Glad I did. Location was super and the owner really helpful. Its easy to get to from the airport by water taxi and with elderly parents and a young child the last thing I needed was a long walk. The entrance was immediately outside the pier. Very simple. Was also 10 mins to rialto bridge and 10 mins to St Marks and the Guggenheim.

I would defo stop again if I was in Venice and the aprtment was beautifully furnnished and with great views overlooking the canal. Highly reccomended.

Superb location and superb apartment

Arrived late and was kindly escorted to the hotel from across the canal.  Shown room which was spacious with a full kitchen and washing machine/ dryer.

Very helpful with food recommendations.  Nice neighbourhood

Made to feel at home in Venice

What you see in the pictures is exactly the way it is...absolutely beautiful.  Once a wealthy merchant's villa in the merchant part of the city, it is now a great place to launch your Venice vacation from.  We took a private water taxi from the airport for 120 Euro and it dropped our family of four right off at the San Samuel dock and the small campo where the apartment is located.  The manager met us and we walked through 3 doors to get to our apartment the first 150 years old with skeleton key and the other two more modern and much more secure.  The last door is like a bank vault...very secure.  The Cassandra apartment has a full kitchen, dishwasher, washer and dryer, pull out sofa bed in living room,  3 large windows that open to the grand canal, and two windows that open to a beautiful garden that you don't have access to but is still beautiful to look at.  This place was the highlight of our trip and we really felt special staying here.  Some areas of Venice are very crowded with 1000s of tourists.  This apartment is not far from those areas but is very quiet and secluded.  I can't recommend this place highly enough.  We really enjoyed it.

Best Value for the Experience

You could not have picked more of a perfect location! From the living room to all the bed rooms we could marvel at the Grand Canal All it’s coming and goings - who needs TV! Alvise met us at the water bus station and guided us to his families apartment and then explained the history of the importance of the building, just wonderful to meet a true inhabitant of Venice. An absolute wonderful experience and when Alvise found out it was my mothers 75th birthday he popped back in with a bottle of prosecco.
We would highly recommend this property, it has everything within 5 minutes walk from restaurants for eating out or stores for eating in.
We will be going back soon...
