For this, my first visit to Venice I was totally impressed with this accommodation. Tastefully decorated and our room was clean and quiet!! Conveniently located in the area. Also, our host was professional, helpful and courteous. Breakfast was extremely well prepared and delicious. Would definitely recommend staying here and will stay here on my next visit to beautiful Venice. 

A wonderful Impression

Loved staying at B&B Cà Del Modena. We met Nicola who was wonderful, was very accommodating, and gave us lots of tips during our stay in Venice. The breakfast that was provided was generous and very delicious. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were very clean. It was a short walking distance to the San Stae water shuttle stop which was very convenient when arriving and leaving with our luggage. The location is also walking distance from all the top sights in Venice. I definitely recommend.

A great place to stay in Venice

What a lovely friendly welcome from our host(s). Nickolas gave us some excellent tips for getting around the city, where to eat, etc.   The recommendations were spot on, the food great, and service friendly compare to the tourist places,
The bed was firm and comfortable, the room very big, and shower hot and pressured. 
Breakfast was continental style, but filling and the staff very attentive and helpful.
The location was in a great area, away from the maddening crowds, but in an area that was in walking distance of the main tourist attractions, railway & bus stations and water taxi. The area was safe and you never felt threatened, even walking around the narrow alleyways or dark corners. It felt like you were back in the old times, exploring forgotten nook and crannies great fun. We even did a Gondola ride, along the narrow canals in this area, rather than the very touristy ones along the Grand Canal.  It is an excellent way of seeing the city at a different level, and if you get an informative gondolier, it makes it all the more fun.  The gondola's are prices at 80 euros per boat, and take up to 6 people.  The price goes up to 100 euros in the evening per boat.

Excellent location away from the crowds, but closeness to be in the heart of Venice

My wife and I took a 17 day trip to Italy this past September and October. Our last stop was in Venice. We spent four nights here and we could have spent more! I chose this B&B because it was in an excellent location and looked so quaint. We were not disappointed in the least! It was a short walk from the San Stae Vaporetto (water bus) stop down a narrow canal street.The B&B has four rooms. We stayed in the "Blue room" and it was so lovely with its colors, comfortable bed, and nice size bathroom with a full shower. They served a wonderful breakfast with cereals, fresh, homemade granola, fresh, homemade yogurt (which my wife loved), fresh baked croissants, cheese, salami, juice, coffee, etc. The owners treat you like royalty! They are kind, pleasant, and so helpful. The area surrounding is a treasure trove of discoveries. There are restaurants, Gilato shops, gift shops, small businesses, a wonderful palazzo, and other places we discovered by just walking through the small streets and alleys. The Rialto Bridge is about a 15-20 minute easy walk where you will find so many places to see and explore on the way. From there, another 15 minute or so walk to St. Mark's square and Basilica. From St. Mark's, you can hop on the Vaporetto back to the San Stae station. If you are going to be here for more than a day or so, buy the 2, 3 or 7 day pass. It will save a lot of money on the water bus rides. And if you are going to Marco Polo airport, take the easy Alilaguna water transport from the San Stae station to the airport. It is only 15 Euros each person for the 25 minute boat ride. We would  highly recommend this wonderful place to stay. You will not be disappointed!!

THE B&B to stay at in Venice

Ok room ok a little small. No fridge very dispointing as it's extremely hot while here, no safe which I feel is always needed. Breakfast is to late starts at 8.30am. Quite area easy access from the ferry

I stayed here on my own for 5 nights whilst attending a work conference at Ca’ Foscari University.  I opted for this B&B as my budget was limited due to work travel allowance and a recent luxury US holiday that drained my funds that month.  Most options were either too expensive, too basic, fully booked or too far away from the University.  This looked decent – more traditional than my usual modern style - though I was concerned at the lack of recent or really any TA reviews or photos.  I needn’t have been concerned I had a really lovely stay.

I stayed in a basic small double bedroom.  It was perfectly good for my needs although the bedroom furniture could do with being updated in the near future especially the bed and mattress if I am being completely honest.  The bathroom was a decent size and the water pressure very good in the shower.  

Wifi (free) worked very well as did the air conditioning in the room which proved to be a godsend as the weather was extremely hot during my stay.  

The breakfast room is lovely and there was plenty of choice and plenty of food!   Fresh coffee, selection of teas, fruit juice, pastries, cereals and muesli, fresh fruit, salami, ham, cheese, Nutella, jam etc, etc.   I slept in one morning and asked if they would fill my trvel cup with hot water but they insisted on also giving me a little packed breakfast to take with me which was a lovely touch.

One thing to note when looking for the B&B is there is no sign!   It’s essentially an apartment on the first floor of a residential building.  I walked right past it as I thought there would be a sign and didn’t look for the door numbers which is exactly what I should have done!  Once you are on Calle Del Modena look for door no 2006 A and you will see Ca Del Modena on the bottom doorbell.  It’s an easy walk from the San Stae waterbus stop – I got the orange waterbus from the airport and other than missing the door initially it couldn’t have been easier.   There are helpful instructions on their website on how to reach the B&B but also very helpfully they emailed those instructions a few days before I arrived.  Check in times are limited but the owner waited even though I was a little late and did not rush me as I arrived very hot and flustered!  He even helped me with finding a local restaurant on my first evening – Muro San Stae which proved to be excellent and great value.

You get a key to let yourself come and go as you please and it appeared there is no one in attendance outside breakfast and normal check in times.  It’s quite a quiet area but easy to walk to main areas and I enjoyed all the walking - I felt more like I was living in Venice! I also felt very safe walking back alone in the evenings.

I would definitely stay here again as really enjoyed this B&B and Venice.  I spotted the door open to a superior room one morning so would be sure to book that if returning with husband as it look very pretty and traditional.

Friendly little B&B

This summer my family and I have been travelling around Italy and visited Venice. It was the challenge to find this hotel without navi, because all houses in Venice places  disgracefully and people dont know names of streets, even it's near their houses. Actually, the owner had sent the map via email, but we didn't get it.
After we had found the hotel appeared the second problem - hotel was closed!! We was calling since 20 minutes, but there was no result. Only after 40 minutes the staff came and opened door. He had a lunch, actually😂.
What about hotel? It was the best b&b hotel, where we ever lived. The bad was so soft and the bathroom was very clean. The interior was pretty nice.
The different theme of conversation is breakfast. It was so much delicious and diverse! There was only our family in this hotel, but the breakfast was fresh and the cook was cooket it especially for us!

The best b&b hotel, where I ever lived! 

We stayed in Ca’ del Modena for 3 nights over New Years Eve and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised by how lovely this little B&B is! Nicolas, one of the owners, was incredibly welcoming when we arrived and he made us feel very comfortable during our stay. We were given a map of Venice and recommendations for local restaurants nearby and tried Al Muro, which was delicious! 

The room was simple and very clean, it was kept in a traditional Venetian style and still cosy. The only thing (which is something that cannot be helped) is the soundproofing... Being the old B&B that it is, we occasionally heard the other guests coming in and out. The bed sheets comprised of a duvet with a loose cotton sheet underneath which also kept coming off during the night. An improvement could be made to get a complete cover on the duvet. 

The breakfast was delicious and everything you needed for a full day of exploring Venice. Every single review here talks about how good it is... and really, it is excellent! Fresh bread, croissants, cold meats, yogurt, fruit, cereals, coffee and tea. 

The location is perfect, it’s hidden and tucked away in a quiet backstreet away from the hustle and bustle, but just round the corner from all the sights. It was a 10 minute walk from Rialto bridge and 20 minutes away from St. Marks square. Be warned, you need to use Google maps to navigate yourself round the city!

Would I recommend Ca’ del Modena to a friend? Yes. 

Would I stay here again?
