7 reviewsArrived Venice by train. the place is about 10-15mins walk from the station. We took the service of a porter (recommended depending on your luggage as there are few bridges with steps to cross) since we had two large heavy luggage. Andrea was a very welcoming and friendly host. We were in touch even before I arrived through Whatsapp (which made it very convenient). We were promptly checked in with quick tour of the apartment by Andrea. He also advised us on the nearby restaurant and few places to visit. room/apartment was very cozy with all the facilities in fine condition; the bedroom, kitchen and toilet were well maintained and clean. The beds were very cofy; toilet big and clean. The place is situated in an ideal location; you step out into one of the main arterial roads with all the shops you would want; like super market, restaurants, souvenir shops, gelato, pharmacy and all the road side shops. The water taxi (boat to different locations) and AliLaguna (boat service to Airport) are just few steps away. A word about AliLaguna; the location is just one stop away from Airport; we missed our first boat since it was already full capacity by the time it reached our stop. We had to wait another tense 30mins for the next ride; if we had missed that too probably we wouldn't have been able to catch the flight. Therefore consider this issue and plan your trip with enough buffer time. The main place of St. Mark square is about 2km from the property. Depending on you this could be good or bad .. bad obviously if you dont want to walk - then take the water taxi .. good if you like to leisurely stroll and take in the various sights and sounds of the city as you make you way slowly to the square ... i would recommend this as you will definitely enjoy the city more ... on the way back .. way be take a different route ... Out of the three properties we stayed in Italy (Rome, Florence & Venice) we liked this the most. the room even had those electrical plugins for room fresheners .. which was well thought out to ward off the smell from the canals ... The apartment is on the 2nd floor; it was uncomfortable with the heavy large luggages ... Andrea & Mohammed (our porter) helped us with the luggage when we checked in .. however there was no one when we checked out ... the luggage lift was not functional ...
