I can highly recommend this hotel.
We had a great week with the best service och really good food.
If I will be back in Passo Tonale, Cielo Blu is the nr 1 hotel for me.
Good food, good wine, great service, clean and modern rooms! 5/5!

5/5 hotel in Passo Tonale

Just back from a weeks skiing. Hotel is clean and tidy , warm through out . Bedrooms basic but comfortable. Cleaned every day. Staff all friendly and helpful. Restaurant staff all nice and friendly and approachable. Short walk to the slopes and ski hire. Lockers provided in ski room with heated boot holder. Only down side is food is a little basic. For the price paid good value. (We certainly did not starve) .Happy hour in the bar every night.

Clean and Basic (good Base for the Slopes)

The Hotel is in a fantastic location. It is only a 5 minute walk to the slopes. The rooms are basic but very clean so we did not mind this at all. The receptionist was lovely and also the bar man with the "pony tail" was very nice.
On our first night we arrived late and we  went into the restaurant. A member of staff who was in the restaurant 99% of the time and he was also there for serving breakfast. I have never met anyone in my life met  to be soo rude and soo unfriendly !!! he made myself and my husband  and my children feel very uncomfortable. We were afraid to ask him for a drink.  My children called him "Mr Cranky". Honestly he was unbelievable!!. He is in the wrong job and he hates his job. He should not be working in the hospitality industry. We were not the only people to have a problem with him. We never complained as we all felt uncomfortable around him so we said nothing. 
I did mention his behaviour to the receptionist. 
The food was very bland, the risotto and pasta had no taste at all. There were  snacks in the bar on certain days and the pizza slices and all other snacks were cold. The food was barely edible. There was just no flavour or taste from the food. You are in Italy so how can there be no taste from the risotto, pasta and sauce tasted like it was from a packet. 
The Wifi in the rooms was non existent.
Extremely disappointing and I would never go back to Cielo Blu



EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING !!

Good location, short walk downhill to lifts and can walk downhill from another lift to home. Staff were friendly  and service in the restaurant was excellent. Menu was varied. rooms were comfortable. Boot room downstairs was heated and  a few steps to walk up ground level and a short slope to the street. Couldn't fault the hotel or resort.  Stayed in this resort in 2016 in a similar hotel and after a pleasant break in 2023 will probably return to Cielo Blu in 2024. 

Blue is the colour

Stayed here while skiing in Passo Tonale with Crystal ski. Had read a few reviews on here and was a bit worried what we might find.

However, we had a fantastic stay the staff were all very friendly and hospitable. The room was basic but comfortable and warm and all we needed for a place to kick back after long days skiing. 

There were good facilities for ski equipment including a heated boot rack. 

Food was good. If anything the only complaint was there was too much of it! Maybe a bit light on vegetables and fresh fruit at breakfast but otherwise we definitely didn’t go hungry.

Thanks for a lovely stay. Would be happy to recomend if you want something basic but friendly and comfy post skiing.

Also some of the views are just incredible!

No frills but comfy and friendly

Lovely little ski hotel. Staff very friendly, food tasty - only complaint was that there is so much of it we left too much on our plates! Nice bar with good selection of drinks. Rooms are a little dated but spotlessly clean and comfy. Short walk to the lifts. Can’t fault it. 

Perfect ski hotel

Very disappointed with this hotel, it was a lot more dated than it looks in the photos and could do with a decor update. The walls were paper thin and we could hear everything going on in the room next door especially when they had their music blaring in the early hours! 

The restaurant was very poor, breakfast had little selection with rock hard, dried up croissants. We were half board, the salad buffet was dismal,  the courses served afterwards were hit & miss if hot or not, and were not particularly appetising. We decided not to eat in the restaurant most nights due to the poor quality.

The exit to/from the ski lockers in the hotel was nothing short of a death trap! The steps leading up to a steep ramp to get to the road were covered in compacted ice and were not cleared the whole week we were there! 

It is a shame that this hotel is let down by the above as most of the staff are excellent and very friendly, apart from a couple who I think may be management - they just looked at us with a look of contempt bizarrely!

Saved by the staff

We have stayed at this hotel before, 4 years ago and nothing has changed. The same problems are still there and it is very obvious that the feedback forms given to the management are completely ignored. So I will start with the management, we nicknamed them Gomes and Morticia as they never smile and never speak to any of their customers. One night they sat at dinner bringing the atmosphere to a dull. However, the staff are really friendly and helpful 10 out of 10 for them. The hotel needs a rapid update, the only spot you can get Wi-Fi is in the bar, nice try management, but is does not mean people will spend at the bar. It just annoys people nothing else. Our room (209) had a pathetic attempt of a shower, a dribble more like. The TV had no channels due to no signal being received. 
Getting from the ski locker to the upper levels is death defying as the steps are small and at the time covered in snow / ice, duty of care slightly ignored. There are lightbulbs everywhere which need replacing so regular maintenance is ignored.
Food:- Average food, was very good last time we was here. They do feed you with plenty of food and the waiters are very attentive. Dishes with cooked meats are very bland and either fatty or over cooked, fried to the hilt. Starter salads are good and the desert’s very good.
Bar prices are reasonable and they still do their happy hour 16:30-17:30, thankfully the cheerful staff serve and not M&G.
This place is one of the average priced hotels so I suppose average is what you get, we will not stay there again unless it is seriously updated. There are plenty of other hotels which are new and have better facilities, may cost a little more but it will be worth it as Passo is a great place to ski. I would recommend the Hotel Alpi.
Skiing at Passo is excellent but due to no snow in Europe very busy this time. However, unlike the Cielo Blu the ski resort has really updated itself with better access across the slopes with new lifts, pulleys, escalators and bar/restaurants.
We will be back to Passo Tonale just not at this hotel.

Needs updating

We received a warm welcome and Gala dinner on New Year’s Eve at Hotel Cielo Blu. 
The room was basic but spotlessly clean, warm with lots of hot water and clean towels on demand. There was a free safe in the room. The TV had poor reception and no English speaking channels.
WI-FI was poor/ none existent. 

We had a nice mountain view from our balcony and the area was quiet at night so we slept well.

The hotel bar was sociable  reasonably priced and had a happy hour and pinball.

The location is between 2 lifts. We decided to hire a heated ski locker at the mistri ski hire near the ski school meeting point to save carrying equipment at 30 euro for the week it was money well spent. Book ahead advised.

The staff were all very friendly at the hotel however communication with dinning room staff was tricky as we don’t speak Italian. 
Breakfast was good lots of choices and a toaster where guests made cheese and ham toasties. Warm croissants, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, scrambled eggs were all available. 

The evening meals were generous and traditional Italian mountain food heavy on the meat and carbs, as a vegetarian some nights were challenging but if you ask they are happy to make alternatives for you. 
The portions were huge and 4 courses were served each night. Italian families were really enjoying the menu  we were feeling guilty about our food waste as we couldn’t eat all the food served even when we asked for small portions.
We would recommend the hotel Cielo Blu for a no frills ski trip with family. 
Just be aware that you should expect a very local menu.
