Went skiing with friends 
Savoia is a family run hotel opposite the slopes.
It was clean and comfortable, very convenient, great views and very friendly and helpful staff ( especially Max the manager ).
The chef is good and although there is not much to offer vegetarians on the menu they are very happy to make something to suit 
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and will be back.
The only areas of improvement would be access to a sauna and  a wider range of options at breakfast

We will be back !

Travelled with Crystal the week before half term as a solo skiier.  The hotel is 1 minute away from the nearest slope - NOT!  It's close but not that close.  More like 5 mins in ski boots.
The ski and boot room had heated boot warmers but was in the entrance lobby to the hotel so not as secure as some I have seen.
Friendly helpful staff, especially Davide.  
Breakfast was OK, perfectly adequate but nothing amazing (nice coffee).  Tiny tiny cereal bowls, huge spoons.  Go figure.
Dinner was very good.  You had to choose your dinner for tomorrow at dinner tonight.  Typical Italian fayre - a salad buffet to start with, then a pasta dish or soup, then a main course & finally dessert.  Not all of the English translations were 100%.  Four of us solo travellers ate together which caused some confusion initially.  
The bedroom was not massive but comfortable with plenty of storage, not too hot, nice view, not too loud.  Noise not from the hotel - there were a couple of very loud bars nearby.  Weirdly the room's bathroom was big but designed by somebody who likes their knees to be pressed up against the shower door while sitting on the loo.  Could easily have been designed better.
Just an fyi - the safe was too small to fit my 13" laptop in.  
All in all I would recommend the hotel but probably won't be going back as resort not very well laid out.

Good location, quiet hotel, nice room, nice food

Excellent hotel that is steeped in bitty and run by a wonderful friendly family. Rooms are basic but very comfortable and warm. Heated boot and ski storage is provided at the front of the hotel and it’s only a two minute walk to the slopes. 
Breakfast is usually ham, cheese, bread, hard boiled eggs and an assortment of fruit and cereal. Fruit juice and coffee are also available. Dinner is a buffet salad bar followed by a starter, main and dessert. Usually a pasta starter and always enough to satisfy. 
You can either pay as you go at the bar or just add it to your room bill and settle up the evening before you leave. 
All in all a beautiful hotel, perfect position and reasonable prices at the bar. (€4.50 for a large beer). 🍻

Excellent hotel and owners.

Lovely hotel with very pleasant staff.  Good size rooms, plentiful hot water and the food was very good quality, but they struggled with 3 of us being vegetarian.  We had informed Crystal of this at time of booking and the hotel when we arrived.  Whilst they did accommodate us, the main courses were not ideal. We had caprese salad 3 nights  and a lump of grilled cheese one night.  Having said that, the pasta course was excellent and always a vegetarian choice and the salad buffet was lovely.  

Great hotel but struggled with vegetarian 

A basic hotel but perfectly clean. Very close to the ski lifts (across the road). The staff were always friendly and helpful. Food was once again basic but plentiful and they willing accommodated my vegetarianism. Perfect for a no frills holiday.

Good, value for money accommodation.

We really enjoyed our stay at Savoya, we were two families (4 adults and 3 kids in total) on the Christmas ski trip with Crystal ski. 
The location of the hotel is ideal - right opposite the piste, but set slightly back off the main road which meant we slept with our windows open and did not hear any noise at all. I agree that the hotel is dated but its spacious, warm and very clean. The beds are comfortable, there is plenty of hot water and the water pressure is great in the shower. For Christmas the hotel let us hang the kids stockings out in the living room and noone minded the kids running around at 6am in their pyjamas. The guests were all families or groups of families. 

The food was plentiful, in our opinion there were too many courses, one of which was always a pasta of a kind. So every night  there was a pasta course first (which kids loved but it became too repetitive for adults), then salad bar, then main course from the menu choice, then dessert. Perhaps if they changed to the salad and soup bar, then main course from the menu (incl a pasta option) and then a dessert - that would be plenty. Also a slightly better translation for the menu would be great, sometimes it was really hard to predict what it was we were ordering. The drinks are reasonably priced (wine bottles start at €20) and the staff couldn’t be nicer, the girls at the restaurant really try hard. 
We didn’t use the bar area as we didn’t find it comfortable or friendly, and the lighting was just far too bright, but we sat in the living room in the evenings  playing games, which was lovely with the fire lit. 

The ski room had enough space and heated boot dryers, no complaints here either. 

Max (the head waiter) was great and very helpful. The bar and pizzeria in front on the hotel (belongs to the hotel) has an absolutely amazing pizza ranging from €6 for Margherita and to €10 for a fully loaded calzone - we loved it! We found the bar at the pizza place is also one of the cheapest in the resort, if you’re looking for a quiet place for your apres-ski. 

So, to sum up, we thought the hotel was good for the price we paid for it, it could certainly do with some improvements but overall we enjoyed our stay.

Great budget stay

Absolutely terrible! The worse hotel we have ever stayed in and it really tarnished our snowboarding experience. We went half board and had to leave half way through the week. The food was diabolical! The staff were very unfriendly. The cleaners came into our room without knocking before 8am to try and clean our room! Stay well away.

Worst hotel in Passo Tonale 

Excellent hotel directly opposite the pistes . Staff very friendly and helpful even though their English was limited - no complaints there as we do not speak any Italian. Food was lovely and plentiful. Cosy bar area to get an after dinner drink or relax in the large comfy, warm lounge. Everywhere beautifully clean. All bedrooms en suite and different size of rooms available to suit the size of your party. Ours was large with plenty of room for the three of us. Ski room by the front door with heated boot rack. There is also a separate bar and pizzeria in front of the hotel, handy for an apres ski drink.

excellent Hotel

What we wanted from a ski hotel was provided here. It was immaculately clean and the food was exceptional, especially the New Year’s gala meal.
The staff were all friendly and efficient in this family run hotel.
It is a little tired, but made up for by the above.

Highly recommend for the price.

I stayed here with my teenage son for a week skiing holiday over Easter. Booked the holiday through Crystal as a package and chose the Savoia as it was a great price for half board and hotel was so close to the slopes (I won’t stay anywhere with a long walk to the slopes 🙈)  the hotel is only a 2 minute max walk to the slopes. Around the hotel there’s lots of photos of the hotels past which were very interesting and it looks no different now on the outside to when it was built in 1886 (I think!) 
We received a very warm welcome on arrival from the lovely family that run the hotel. They were happy that I was aware of the tourist tax that has to be paid as a lot of guests aren’t aware and then not happy.
Our room was on the first floor facing the front and wow what a view! Absolutely stunning views of the mountains. I’ll upload a picture of the view from my bed. We stopped closing the shutters in the end as the view was so lovely to wake up to. 
The rooms…the decor is dated however everything was in great condition and functionable, our room was more than big enough with plenty of storage and hooks to hang our jackets and salopettes up. The beds were extremely comfortable and I slept very well which is unusual for me in a strange bed. The shower room was again dated but everything worked fine and you could have a good shower. The hot water took a while to come through but not a problem.
Breakfast was a cold buffet with enough choice and the drinks from the machine were very good. My son loved the hot chocolate and the coffee was also good. 
You chose your 2 courses for dinner the night before and there’s a cold vegetable buffet for your first course. This is traditional Italian style. My son is very fussy and not once at either breakfast or dinner did he go hungry. The pasta course was always very good and filling and the lasagne was lovely! This is then followed by a meat course then a choice of desert, my son wanted vanilla ice cream every night which wasn’t a problem at all. The views from the restaurant which faces the front with floor to ceiling windows were again stunning.
I would not hesitate to go back to the Savoia we had the best week skiing (perfect conditions) and at a great hotel.
