It was all in all a very nice stay. Warm welcome and very friendly staff. The rooms are clean and proper and provided just all we needed. We also enjoyed the pool area - small but nice! We enjoyed the quite atmosphere because it was out in the country side, but quick to get to Vieste. 

Very nice stay!

We were welcomed by Nicola. He explained some suggested things to do the next couple of days. The bandb is stunning. Very remote and with beautiful views and gardens. He showed us to our lovely room. I explored the infinity pool area, then unpacked necessities. Had a good shower and changed for dinner. We ordered a gand t and beer to drink on our patio. We went down for a very special meal at 8am. The host Jean Carlos,  welcomed us and all the guests individually, explaining each dish. It  was wonderful. A real experience, but far too much food for me!  A selection of vegetable starters, then a large portion of parmigiana,  then mashed beans and greens. I tried but couldn’t eat it although all delicious and different. The meal ended with a spectacular chocolate pudding that my husband declared was the best pudding he had ever had. I turned mine away and had a couple of spoons of my hubbies. The meal finished with limoncello. 
Breakfast next morning was excellent.  Jean Carlos, greeted us and showed us the buffet choice. Fruit, cereals and lots of home made cakes, home made preserves and home made yoghurt, plus we could order eggs, ham, cheese etc from the kitchen. We had fruit, cereal and yoghurt. Then I had scrambled eggs, and John had eggs and bacon.  Fruit juice, plus excellent coffee, and John managed cake as well.  Best breakfast yet! We had planned a day trip from our guide books, but Nicola had explained that it is a Saints Day today in Vieste, Santa Maria. The pilgrims  walk the effigy of Santa Maria along the coast from Vieste at around 9am when the road is closed and return around 9pm in the evening. Meanwhile , part of the coast road is closed. Nicola took one look at our plans and suggested we did half today and the other half tomorrow!  We found it difficult to find anywhere to eat in day.  Apparently,  they open for lunch, close at 3pm and open again in evening about 7.30pm. . We decided to return to  Shanti and eat there again. Great decision. Arrived back around 6pm. Nicola greeted us and soon brought us gand t and beer after we told him of our adventure. He also brought more nibbles. We went down to the restaurant at 7.30pm. We had another amazing meal, which this time, I managed to pace myself better for. We started with a lovely light Summer salad, then a delicious pasta with turnip heads. This was followed with superb sausage and rosemary roast potatoes. I did my best and asked Jean Carlos for a takeaway! The pudding was a superb tiramasu.  A favourite of mine and I downed the lot, much to Johns disappointment.  Limoncello ended a superb meal, and we wondered why Limoncello doesn’t taste the same back home.  We spoke to Nicola about how much we are enjoying our stay here. We explained that we have been many places in the world but this place and his concept has made this one of our best ever experiences. He is only just 30 years old, but has an amazing ethos and concept. He treats guests like welcoming family. A very clever switched on young man. After our limoncello night cap, I asked if I could have another red wine for the room and he handed me the rest of a bottle with a very generous helping. John and I agree, that, of all the places we have visited in the world, this place has touched a nerve with us, and we are in love with 
the  concept and the beautiful surroundings.  


Superb, Special and Spectacular!

Check in was seemless. Nicola was welcoming and informative and very helpful. Breakfast…what can we say…..Giancarlo was great front of house at breakfast which was superb and delicious. The food at dinner was again delicious, most of produce from the garden and vegetarian which was lovely to have lots of veg, nice change from meat. The rooms were very schmick and the bathroom very tasteful and great shower. This place has the home stay feel with class. Close to Vieste township & beaches. Close to the forest which is magnificent. Monte San Angelo is nearby as well also worth a visit. Was a most enjoyable stay a very aagh moment for us on our trip

Worth a visit

Shanti is set amongst olive trees about 10 minutes by car from the attractive coastal town of Vieste. Breakfast was great with its own products and this small development of apartments is set in the hills with a distant sea view and a small spa pool is a welcome bonus. There are a few steps up to the accommodation and I saw no meat on the menu so it might not suit everyone. However the staff are very friendly and multi lingual between them. They know the area well and are keen to advise on trips you can do to explore this beautiful peninsula of Italy known as the Gargano. By the way if you like red wine you must try salice salentino!

Peaceful retreat

Without a doubt one of the best B+B.s. I have ever stayed in. The location accommodation and the hosts were par excellence!  The whole essence of Shanti  is beauty tranquility and natural style that is understated but impactful.This was our first ever visit to Puglia and it will not be our last. Shanti "we will be back!"

A little Shangri La  in Puglia 

This is theeee place to stay if you are visiting the Gargano Area. You are made to feel part of the family from the moment you arrive. The welcome is professional and friendly and the accommodations design is beguiling in its effortless class. Our room was exceptionally clean with a delightful little terrace overlooking the olive trees and hills - perfect for sipping a local red and playing cards. Breakfast is so so good and make sure you leave space for the super tasty homemade tarts. Southern hospitality at its best. Lots of love from Scotland

Relax under the stars

Friends and I stayed at this most amazing gem of a place - I can't recommend enough. The owners and staff are the most helpful in the world, we had brilliant assistance from Nicola (collected from Vieste as there were no buses or taxis on the night we arrived)  and Jean Carlo  (very kindly assisted us in accessing a hire car and showing us the best places to visit in the national park. 
The breakfasts are the most delicious treats of assorted home baked cakes, pastries, fruit, cereals, yogurts meats and cheeses. Our room was lovely, it a peaceful great place to stay for some days. Thank you all for our magical stay - we love Italy for its people and beautiful places and magical memories

Highly recommend! You won't find better

We stayed there for 3 nights and loved every minute of it. Right from the very beginning. 
Nico was very friendly and attentative and always present when needed. 
We travel a lot and I was working in 5 star hotels all over the world. I have to say that the service we received there was excellent . 
Besides from the service, the hotel is beautiful As well! Build with a lot of attention to detail, located in a beautiful olive tree forest. 
You need a car to get anywhere. Nico had some super tips for us where to go to a beautiful beach and where to have dinner.

Maria the chef at Shanti made some amazing breakfast. Not only With freshly baked cake but also with lots of choice on the buffet (sweet and salty).
We had the opportunity to participate in 2 great dinners the hotel organised! The food there was the best we have eaten in a long time. Thank you Maria ! We loved it!

It can’t get better ! ! !

Upon arrival I was welcomed so warmly by the nice people working there. They even make your trip more interesting with the tips & advices about the city and area that only local people know. Great location for nature lovers and travellers. Every morning you wake up by the sounds of birds.The rooms were so clean and bright. The breakfast was amazing with one word. Everything so fresh and delicious. I would definetely recommend this place to everbody, will be going there again for sure. Still many things to discover in Gargano National Park. Thank you Team Shanti for making my trip unforgettable!

What a place!

We stayed for 5 nights at Shanti and it was a perfect time. The hosts were extremely friendly and did know a lot about the area, they gave us good advise on hiking trips but also recommended good restaurants and the best beaches. The room was spotless and nicely decorated, we had a room with African furniture, and liked it very much. The sun beds are nice. The location is perfect. The breakfast is very good; not only a sweet breakfast which u normally see in Italy but also savory products.

We cannot thank the team enough for our pleasant stay and we will be back; with the baby!
