BEWARE!! Private apartments, not all managers/owners are safe to deal with. Watch out for Christopher (aka York on Airbnb), Cortina, Christine, Donovan Bennett. Photos not correct, will remove you for more money. Will try to shortchange you or ask for money once you arrive. BEWARE of this property. If they don't have any booking on Airbnb that's due to deleting old accounts with bad reviews and complaints and creating new accounts under new names. Not safe, don't let security fool you.

BEWARE!! Private apartments

Do not stay here! The location is great but BEWARE this property is made of privately owned suites and renters are consistently scammed or setup to be robbed. We met several people on the island that had bad experiences. A couple we met was locked out of their unit during their stay by the owner. Another woman we met said she had several leaks in her unit during a longer stay and was threatened. We wanted a place that would be more like a home away from home instead we got a broken unit. Regretfully we did not read any reviews before we booked on AirBnB. Pictures do not match what you get and we consistently got brushed off or ignored when we tried to address the issue. We had to leave.  Pic another place!!

Do NOT STAY HERE

Having recently stayed at Point Village, I must pass along this negative experience.

Remember photos can be deceiving when looking at apartments! 

There are a couple of dozen apartments there that the balconies have been enclosed and an already very small apartment broken into smaller rooms!  Many of these apartments are also at the worst locations on the property!  It’s such a claustrophobic feeling especially during COVID!

This is not what you want when coming to a Caribbean island when vacationing! 

There are many other apartments for rent at Point Village that are the same size but are open to the Caribbean air and are not claustrophobic!

Renters beware!

Booked, paid $3600 for three weeks and received confirmation for unit 132.  Supposed to arrive Sunday, February 16.  So now 5 days before we are to arrive and no response from apartment owner.  Sent four messages and tried calling, but got message phone not set up for incoming calls! Booked originally thru trip advisor but confirmation issued by Homeaway, now changed to VRBO.  Called Homeaway last Friday and they are looking into it.  Followed up yesterday but no update other than they also couldn't reach owner by phone number on website.  They said they would try to find something else but we are not willing to pay another $3600. So will update this review when we know what's going on.  But suggest you avoid Point Village.

Do we have accommodations or are we ripped off for $3600?

With the addition of the 3 new hotels right next door, the atmosphere at The Point has changed significantly with the addition of the Royalton and it's 2 partner hotels. Where one had quiet before there is loud music and a blocked street from All Inclusive buses that block everything. They are a bad neighbor. The sad thing is that they don't visit town and all the money goes out of country. Thanks Royalton for screwing up the neighborhood. Not to say that The Point is doing its part either. Nothing has been improved since our last visit and the new pool had its deck torn up because some dummy cut his toe. Now they have no real pool. The lounge chairs are broken and beaten because none are ever replaced. I had to pay a worker to sweep the pagoda for our massage, whereas it should be swept regularly. Paint cannot fix everything.

Not what it used to be

Let me start off by saying the security at the front gate, as well as maintenance people on the property are top notch and deserve a 5 star review.

This review is solely for doing business with Christopher (Yourie) Seaton for Unit 165. 

We found the place through our realtor who quoted us with the price of 3,500 USD for our month long stay in a 3bedroom unit. When we said we would take it the price then jumped up to 4,200 plus a $500 security deposit. We decided to still take the unit because it was our best option at the time. 

When we arrived with our family including 4 adults and a 2 year old and a 9 mo old, Christopher told us he was only expecting four people and he would have to charge us an extra 300 USD for the 2 extra people.  So my two small children were being counted as 2 whole extra people?! We settled on $150. So a place that was originally quoted  to be rented for $3,500 USD was now costing us $4,850. 

The night we arrived, there was no running water, Christopher left and didn’t mention anything, so we ran up to the guard gate in a panic and was told it would be out for a few hours... which happened maybe 2/3 times during our stay. Also there was frequent power outages and the property has no generator, every hotel/ property surrounding has one, but not this one. 

The unit was nice, but pretty filthy. The stove, oven area was filled with dirt and grime from use. Mold on pillows in the laundry room. There were lots of outlets with no covers. The bathtub/shower drains were clogged.  The furnishings were all nice, but everything was just not right. 

We had constant issues with the AC. The downstairs one did not work. For 2.5 weeks it blew out hot air, one completely broke down at 2 weeks in and wasn’t fixed for four days and the master bedroom leaked and blew out warm air. 

The cable TV didn’t work. Christopher was supposed to come by to show us how to work it, but never did. 

We stayed in this location because we were in the process of moving to the country, so when we decided we needed more time we reached out to Christopher to extend our stay... what a mistake?!. He wanted to charge us $6000 USD for the month of October, (hurricane season btw). We were so disgusted with his greedy behavior and shady business tactics we decided to find another place to stay. 

This is a nice resort & totally different from the all-inclusives, with a great location, but if you have to deal with Christopher Seaton to book here, I WOULD NOT! Unless you want to get ripped off... it’s been 5 days and after giving us the run around for 4 days about getting our 500 USD security deposit back, now he just stopped responding. It’s okay though because I am alerting everyone on here to NEVER deal with him as well as the group of real estate and travel agents I’ve been working with in the states as well as Jamaica who have helped with our move. Hopefully,  he will not be able to do this to other travelers, 

1 star Review for booking with Christopher Seaton

We booked this location and got a confirmation of the booking. We noticed they hadn’t charged the card and called.  After much run round we got someone on the phone who assured us the delay was on their end and they would charge the card that day. On the day, I called and spoke to Josh in the Montego Bay office who again assured us that the booking was secure. He could not say why the card wasn’t charged but that he has arranged with Mr Seaton on the actual property and that he would charge whichever card I had once I got there. I still don’t know why the card hadn’t been charged. After traveling all day and getting to the property at night, I spoke to the security at the gate who could not locate Mr Seaton for over 30 minutes. When he finally got him, he abrasively said that he had no booking for us and was not interested at all to see the email confirmation. He continued to rudely say that the only thing he could do is to charge $50 more per night. He then only wanted cash only, a grand total of $800 up from $427 that bookings.com quoted us (bookings.com actually confirmed  $351 via email) then emailed a final cost of $427, the excess apparently were hidden costs, but thats another story.  In the end we luckily found another room and we still don’t know what Mr seaton looks like as he couldn’t even be bothered to come to the gate to speak with us. I have no clue what happened here as we used the same credit card that they did not charge. We did get an email on the Monday we were scheduled to leave that they had not charged the card. Too little too late and I have no clue why the card wasn’t charged or why we weren’t worth the effort to sort it out or at least honour the price  confirmed.  Horrid, Horrid experience. For the record, I feel like Josh acted in good Faith. He was Excellent at following up and providing Seatons number to follow through.  I wouldn’t recommend this lot at all. We were nearly homeless for 3 nights.

Hi ! Have I ever got a review you need to read .We stayed at the Point Village in January 2019. This was our first time at renting a condo, and our first time staying in this gated community. We are hooked! This was our fourth trip to Negril . This community use to be a all inclusive with privately owned units as well. There are locals who rent and or live here at the point so that’s nice to mingle and visit with them. Nothing  better than landing and they welcome you home . Jamaica is our favourite destination so far! I can’t imagine nicer people 🤙🏻🇯🇲.We stayed in unit 191 and had the best host possible. It was a two bed and bath unit with 2balconies and a Juliet balcony too. The unit comes with a housekeeper once a week but I did not need to have her come in as I’m quite capable of cleaning up after myself. This was the best trip we had to date and I say that because whats better then to have coffee on your patio at your leisure, and to not have to hurry to the buffet before it closes. I loved the flexibility of cooking when we wanted to or not. Cooking and cleaning to some-may not  be ideal, during your vacation. I was asked if I would go back to a all inclusive...... maybe ....someday ....... but not ready to do that again anytime me soon 🙈 
our unit was about 300 feet from the beach. Morning snorkelling was our favourite thing to do before breakfast. The variety of sea life is amazing! The resort sits between two beaches. Bloody bay and the famous 7 mile beach. These condos range from studio units to 3 bedrooms. The point is across from booby cay , so you could kayak across and snorkel there too. There is a swimming pool as well as some rock pools, available for you to swim in if the ocean is not your thing. But while in Jamaica how could you not slip into ocean and float around🏝. I could ramble on forever , but if you need any  questions answered please feel free to contact me, you will not to be disappointed , but do keep in mind I am reviewing unit 191 only.

Chillin 

We recently had a lovely stay at the above accommodation within the point Village in Negril. The home is very well equipped with 2 modern bathrooms, great furniture, a nice living area with cable TV, excellent wireless internet, 2 good sized bedrooms and within a gated community to ensure your safety. The host is very accommodating and we were lucky enough to receive some beautiful Jerk pork and other local delicacies on arrival. Very well received after a long journey. The house keeper was helpful during our stay and kept the apartment clean and tidy. 
The resort has a private clean beach away from the crowds. A car or using a local taxi is advisable for stay. 
It’s Negril, so just enjoy yourself and chill.....



6 night stay at Heaven-Can-Wait townhouse

The room was not in good condition. Beware the picture on the web site is not the room we got. The toilet would not flush right. I called the manager of the property and they sent a plunger up for me to use. We booked 3 nights but only stayed 2. They state that you can cancel up to 30 days out. That is not true. We tried to cancel the last day 30 days out and they would not let us. There was no house keeping. This was a rip off.
