This Jamaican boutique hotel was a pleasant surprise, perched on the cliffs at Ross Craig,  near Boston Beach. We got an upgrade on arrival from the lovely Monique, but had to change rooms through no fault of the hotel and the Manager Brett was most accommodating.  We stayed in the comfortable Sea Dream room with a beautiful view of the ocean and a tub bath in the bedroom, together with an outside private shower which was hot and delightful. 
There is also a good sized pool although the swim up bar is sadly not in use. 
The food is outstanding (the restaurant closes at 8pm so order early) and the staff are super friendly and helpful. 
The resort could do with a little bit of TLC but has everything you need.  We had a very comfortable stay and enjoyed their hospitality.

Excellent food, peace and quiet, friendly staff

I live in the area (part-time for now) and needed to stay there with my assistant to be able  to access stable internet for an important  3 hour meeting the next day.   Brett and his staff were SO accommodating. I can't thank them enough. It was one of those divine moments...when everything comes together for the right reason. My part-time assistant had had a bad day (with someone else she works for) and she really appreciated a great room where she was made to feel special because of the great room they gave us.  And breakfast and the service there from Monique and Terence was also amazing. Thank YOU!  You are doing a great work in an understated but important part of the world. THANK GOD FOR YOU! One of a kind experience

 I've seen a lot of positive reviews and decided to check it out myself, and I can honestly say they're all TRUE. The staff was so warm and courteous, and the FOOD...My God, the food was delectable (I recommend the shrimp pasta & the fried fish). The hotel boasts a beautiful salt water pool, and the cliffside view is breathtaking. It was truly a wonderful experience.

Management read my negative review and tried to convince me to take
It down if they forgave a meal.  When I refused, I got an incomplete cleaning of my room,  ad upon check out I actually had to prove to them that I did not drink a 12 ounce sparkling water in the mini bar. I told them about chips and a candy bar and soda.  We actually debated whether I drank another sparking water. UNBELIEVABLE.  DO NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE IF YOU CARE ABOUT DETAILS such as cleanliness, hot water, staff who speak understandable in English and who care a bout the quality of your stay.  The other places I stayed in Tanzania were EXCELLENT. Gran Melia and Stonetown and the rented lodges were EXCELLENT.  Sea Cliff Hotel is an eyesore with misleading reviews.  Do yourself a favor and stay anywhere else but this place.

Portland Sea Cliff Hotel is nothing short of enchanting!! This place is a true hidden gem that exceeded all my expectations. The location is breathtaking. Perched atop a cliff overlooking the pristine Caribbean Sea. The view from our room was spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a genuine sense of hospitality. My wife can get very particular with her needs and requests, However, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs. From dietary needs to speciality drinks from the restaurant, and they were able to recommend other restaurants if we decided not to eat at the hotel. The staff was able to coordinate excursions (Reach Falls, rafting, etc.) including transportation and food.

In short, my week long stay at Portland Sea cliff was total bliss and relaxation. It’s what we wanted and exceeded our expectations. It’s not a cookie cutter hotel that serves burgers, we were able to truly experience Jamaica!! If you are like us, wanting to get away from the hustle and bustle of the U.S. and seeking relaxation, and want to immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Jamaica, this is the place!! I wholeheartedly recommend it.

Hidden Gem

This is seclusion at its finest. I luv that they give u and option totally unplug.  The lush and lavish vegetation on property make u feel like a part of nature. The restaurant on property was not only convenient but the dishes were out of this world exquisite and Delicious. This has got to be the most peaceful and tranquil place on earth. My new favorite place. I will be back.


Best get away ever

Went on Christmas day 2022 with family and before we could even get settled properly in our room my one year old child took up RAT POISON we ended up at the hospital after dinner as my son vomited so we didnt want to chance it any longer jus in case he had ingested any we got blood tests done etc luckily he was ok we didn't even go back there no management was on site to even talk to just security and a guy who showed us our room this place is musty and dirty even the hammock is dirty. The restaurant closes at 8 so you would starve after that and on big big Christmas day they didn't have much options the curry pasta tasted terrible..NOT A PLACE FOR KIDS be careful!! and by the responses i have read to other person who graded this hotel low its probably  best that i didnt get to talk to them about this because all hell would prob break lose if he ever responded to me in a rude manner while i was there. They should be sued!! HOW CAN YOU HAVE RAT POISON OPEN ON THE FLOOR IN A GUEST ROOM????

My husband and I stayed at Portland Sea cliff for one night. The service started before we arrived. I was in dialog with Terrence and indicated the idea I wanted for husband birthday celebration. He was very good in meeting my request and also offering alternative ideas. He even sent me the menu in advance to prevent any delays in meeting my request. Listen I was beyond pleased with my room, inn seaclusion edge....it was breathtaking❗️❗️❗️The complementary was greatly appreciated but the complementary breakfast was sooooo delicious. Thank you to the staff Rosemarie, Monique our server but special thanks to Terrence the Supervisor.

Stayed Friday 7/22-7/24 Room #3...
This Was by far one of if not the best travel experience I've had..the decor..the cleanliness frendlyness and professionalism of the staff everything was great!! Peace and serenity...we decided to visit Portland for the weekend and was so very happy they had availability. Perfect getaway to unwind and spend quality time with your love ones. We will definitely be back..#Soon
