This hotel in general is a typical Toyoko Inn.  The main difference is it's being part of the station building so a person need not go outside to arrive there.

I didn't know that because their are no signs until you are almost ready to enter the hotel (in other words, so close to the hotel you don't need them) so left the station building and walked around in a snowstorm trying to find it.  The typical Toyoko Inn sign high on the building faces the downtown across the tracks, not visible from the station nor from the street on the hotel's side of the station.  There is no hotel entrance directly from the street, only through a building.

Here is how to find the hotel: After leaving the trains, turn left and walk in the opposite direction of the downtown area.  You will be several levels above the street.  When that hallway ends and all you can do it turn right, just turn right and continue on the same level.  Eventually you will go down one flight of stairs and see the hotel entrance ahead of you.

The hotel is in the separate building connected to the station by a hallway.  The entrance is several levels about the ground floor.  There is NO outside entrance to the hotel.

Closer than expected.

A typical Toyoko Inn business hotel, easily accessible internally from the station as others have described, and with that reliable quality.  Efficient check in and a typical Toyoko Inn breakfast is included.

Connected to Akita station

The hotel is connected to the JR Akita station.  
It is less than 5min walk!

The checkin and checkout is fast and the staffs were fast, friendly and efficient, the usual Toyoko standard.  I think the hotel was fully booked during my stay but the staffs 
never fail to put up a great simile while running overdrive.
 
Its seems a relatively new hotel.  Perfect room without a sign of being used.

So convenience - Linked to JR Akita station

Stayed here for one night during Golden Week. It's conveniently located next to Akita station; around 5 minutes walk away from the Shinkansen entrance. There are bus stations that go direct to the airport just outside.
The hotel itself is actually a little tricky to find for the first time.
Rooms are good and well priced... would recommend for business or a short trip in Akita.

Good hotel close to the station

Previous reviews have mentioned the spotless cleanliness of every Toyoko Inn.  This is no exception.  Perhaps the most important additional plus of this particular Toyoko is that it is connected to the station and you don't have to walk outside of the station in bad weather.  Tip:  the hotel is on the east side of the station.  Stay on the 2nd floor and do not go down the escalators to the exit.  Turn right on the 2nd floor as you walk toward the east exit and zig zag into the Alive (?) building.  you will see the Toyoko Inn immediately on the right as you enter this multi-story shopping, entertainment and restaurant facility.
