It is one of the hotels we stayed in on our visit to Hakodate..
It is well situated overlooking the ocean, terrific looking out our window seeing and hearing the ocean and the sea breeze was really welcome 
We had terrific smorgasboard dinner and breakfast, great variety of food and the staff were always attentive and helpful.
The hot baths were a great experience, especially liked the open air one that opened up beach side, 
The hotel rooms are Japanese style with Tatami Mat floors which means no wearing of shoes in the room .
Beds are laid out on the floor , found them very comfortable..
The free wifi worked well.
We enjoyed our stay there, a real bonus overlooking the ocean and it was clean and tidy

Great place overlooking the ocean waters.

I was excited to learn that many Yunokawa hotels offer day-use of their onsen (spa) facilities by non-staying guests. This one was a major disappointment. Location is in the heart of the Yunokawa area, a 30-minute streetcar ride from Hakodate city center, then a 10-minute walk from the station. Staff were friendly and efficient enough. Cost was a reasonable 1000 yen + 200 yen for a small towel. Unfortunately, the facilities themselves are very dated and run-down. The lockers are tiny; only large enough for your wallet and phone. The baths themselves are unremarkable, and the "rotemburo" outdoor area was downright decrepit. As I later discovered, there are many better onsen options for day trippers to Yunokawa.

Day-use onsen was disappointing

The rooms are tradition Japanese style, there are clean but old, no air-condition, no amentities bath and no wifi in room. Onsen was okay, close at 1.00am but I finished onsen at 23.30 all the lights corridor was closed. The food is not good.

I don't like this hotel

This hotel wasn't cheap in comparison with others we stayed in whilst traveling in Japan, so considering the very dated and rather shabby rooms, it was a trifle overpriced. That said, the rooms and bedding were clean and in the traditional Japanese style. We did find that accommodation was harder to find in Hakodate than we had anticipated and were told that it was due to the Shinkansen now  terminating in Hakodate, which had increased the footfall to the town.

Adequate for an overnight stay.

This hotel urgently needs to be renovated and refurnished. Everything looked worn and tired. As mentioned by another reviewer, the hotel room lacked basic amenities and only offered a tiny piece of soap. But at least the place was clean and had no mould nor foul smell.

Unless You Have No Other Options!

Had a shock upon entering the room. The room for the 3 of us was super cramp, old and lacking in amenities. There were no hairdryer or kettle present nor were there any wifi in the room. There was no air conditioner during may and there was only the heater available. The decor of the room seems like something you will see ib a motel. Understand that the hotel mainly cater to the japanese and it will be a culture shock to tourists like myself who are so used to a normal european style hotel. Food at the dining hall was average at best and i would strongly advice any traveller to avoid this hotel at all costs when heading to hakodate.
