The hotel is situated near Hakodate Station - about 3-5 minute walk away so that makes the location very convenient for commuting. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. There’s a lounge at the lobby where you can get some drinks and heat your food. Also, they do provide a welcome drink upon check-in - a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. 

The rooms were ultimately clean and spotless. The toilet had a shower room in it and was also clean. The AC did a good job in keeping me cool all night during the hot summer. Excellent amenities and customer service. 

The onsen was also a big plus - indoor and outdoor tubs as well as a sauna. 

Highly recommended. I haven’t tried their breakfast but word of mouth says that the food there is great!

Excellent Service and Very Clean!

Great location in Hakodate, check in/ out very good. Friendly staff 
5th level room with outside balcony was good for price, room was just big enough for 2 people as room in Japan are small ! Basic facilities but ok. Room was cleaned daily around 9-10am, vending machine outside lift “ cold drinks, beer “,breakfast available but we chose to explore outside.
Hotel has a 24 hr convenience store “ Lawson’s “ across the road, trams close by to get around Hakodate ( easy & very good option )Taxis are usually in the area all the time.
Water front 15 min walk either direction ( Starbucks, eateries, gift shops, ramen restaurant etc )
We would stay here again 

Snow sightseeing 4 night stay

While WBF Hotel in Hakodate is a bit off-road, the same is compensated by the warmth and friendliness of the staff, specifically, the people at the Front Desk. Likewise, I am satisfied with Buffet breakfast that comes with our rooms. My only problem was that I was a smoker and going down to the first floor was really strenuous!

Nice Hotel, with good breakfast

Hotel is in a quiet street and not near to any railway station. This is a chain hotel, so please make sure you get the correct hotel. There is another one near the JR station. 

Room furniture is dated but clean. There is a Lawson store opposite the hotel, which is good as there is nothing much around the hotel. 

Staff is friendly. Overall pleasant stay here. 

Hotel located on a quiet street. 

Just another hotel although Staffs were helpful and friendly.
Room was small, clean and basic. 
Had problems with the dehumidifier and called for assistance. Very impressed when the receptionist personally attended to us to reach us how to operate it.
Very near amenities and there's a convenient store directly opposite this hotel. 
Very appropriate for those who don't want to spend too much time walking.

Standard Hotel

並非位在函館最繁榮的區域，也因此晚上非常安靜，距離著名景點函館山纜車、教堂群、金森倉庫等很近，比較接近海，是附近最高的建築之一，因此視野非常好。
早餐非常好吃，不愧是大家好評的早餐。門口就有機場巴士、走三分鐘就到電車站，飯店服務人員專業親切、英文很棒。
It is not located in the most bustling area of ​​Hakodate, so it is very quiet at night. It is close to the famous spot like Hakodate Ropeway, Church group, Kanemori Red Brick Warehouse, etc. It is one of the tallest buildings in this area, so the view is very good.
There is an airport transport bus at the door, and it only takes 3 minutes to get to the tram stop. The hotel staff is professional and friendly, and their English are great.

Our family of 4 (kids 5 and 7 years ) stayed  for 2 nights on the 10th floor. 

We chose this hotel for its good value and location. We drove a rental car, so preferred a hotel further away from the busy area.

We took the tram to the Goryokaku tower, which took about 20 minutes. Inside the Goryokaku park there was a little stall offering traditional Japanese costumes for rent at a very good price, only to take photos near the stall, not to walk away, I believe.

Unfortunately the ropeway was closed for  maintenance during our stay, so we drove up to the peak (~20 min drive from hotel). We went up after 9pm, as the road to the peak was open for bus only during 4~9pm. 

Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. I had to buy some medicine. Reception staff gave me a map with clear directions to the nearest drug store in the area (~5 min walk).

Pros:
- Good value
- Quiet location
- Good for self drive (valet parking 1000 yen per night)
- Walking distance to mount Hakodate ropeway base station, or 20 min drive to peak
- 5 min walk to tram stop
- Convenient store Lawson and a small park opposite to hotel
- Anpanman play area for kids in lobby
- Free coffee and snacks in lobby
- Toys and electric good for borrow in lobby (we had a go playing with the Kendama, which was fun!)

Cons:
- Not near JR station (not so attractive for guests taking the train)
- Small bathroom
- Room size is ok for 2, slighty small for 4
- old style decor

Good value hotel close to Hakodate mountain

This was our first visit to Hakodate. We drove by car but as we were taking the train we dropped our car at the dealer and checked in. The reception staff seemed to be a bit confused when we checked in. Not about anything in particular but we didn't get any instructions on what to do and we only got one key card with no details on it as to what floor/room we were staying. The room itself was extremely dated. The bed didn't look like it had been replaced for at least 20 years and it was very small and worn. There was a very small door leading out onto a balcony and honestly, the view was the best part about the room. Other than that, there was a very small tv on a desk, the bathroom had one of the oldest toto toilets I've ever seen as well as the older hair dryer that I don't think you could actually use as they provided another, newer one on the desk in the room. 
We were very disappointed with our room considering the price in comparison to many of the other hotels we stayed at across Japan. We were meant to stay two nights but ended up forfeiting one night and leaving a day early for Tokyo. In terms of location, it is about a 15 minute walk down to the main attractions. Not close but not far. I wouldn't recommend this hotel to people visiting Hakodate.

Dated

This is a decent hotel for exploring Hakodate. There's a tram station right around the corner which can take you to all the main sights in the city fairly easily, and the famous tramway station is about 15 minutes walk away. The staff are very polite and speak great English. However, the rooms and facilities are a little dated and the rooms are on the small side, even by Japanese standards.
