This place surely is all that is being promised by the pictures and the reviews. The hosts,although not fluent in English,help out as best as they can. Thanks to Google translate,that worked out surprisingly well. The rooms are tidy,the hot pool is amazing. We loved it. Only breakfast was... a bit Adventurous ;-) 

Great place 

The inn-keepers are very accommodating and will pick you up and take you back to the rail station if you arrive by train or bus as we did.  But the hospitality doesn't end at the station.  The Inn has large nice rooms and a very pleasant dining area.  Definitely include the wonderful breakfast in the morning prepared by the owner's daughter-in-law.  It is beautiful, tasty and filling. A highlight is the like-an-onsen on-site (not a natural hot spring), but a lovely, private showering/cleaning area and a hot, outdoor soaking bath to be enjoyed with your partner.  There is a common area where you can sit and enjoy a beverage. The outdoor areas look lovely, but we were there in March and too cold to enjoy.  The Inn is located in a deeply wooded area with Mt. Fuji as a backdrop.  It is a couple miles from the town center and the lake, but we love walking.  At night, walking the narrow two-lane road with no shoulder in the dark can be challenging and probably best to taxi home.  Those with a car can take the short drive into town. The owner travels to the station almost daily and gave us a lift so we could walk to Lake Fujikawaguchiko.  It was definitely a highlight of our holiday as we spent most of the time in large cities like Tokyo, Kyoto and Osaka.  Recommended!

Beautiful stay in Fujikawaguchiko

We were really lucky to get here about an hour before the typhoon hit !! We were met at the station and told that going out to eat would not be possible…….. so drove us to a supermarket where we bought pot noodles and extra's for our evening meal…….

We had booked a room that was real cozy with Japanese style beds and private hot tub…… be aware that they lack padding and I myself found it too hard too sleep well….. we said this and immediately offered another room with our type of bed...…

English is not a strong point but we were able to communicate quite easily, often doing a translate function and showing us on his mobile phone……. 

They serve a good interesting and filling breakfast.

They have 4 well maintained bikes that can be used and we did to cycle around part of the lake and  they will transport you to and from a restaurant in the evening, although 3 or 4 are just a 10 minute walk away……..

The Mexican restaurant Trocadero (I think) nearby and the Tempura restaurant in town are both really good…….

Great service and well looked after.......

I went for a stay with my mother in the middle of the summer heat and took up the French Dinner package. My mother was never a fan of western food and was initially very reserved about the dinner, but ended up having a great time and commented that this was one of the best meals in Japan! Breakfast was another pleasant surprise. Looks simple, but very very delicious. We felt that it was prepared with so much heart and enjoyed it very much. As the place is in the middle of the woods, it was so relaxing to hear the insect sound while enjoying our breakfast :-)

Aoki-san was prompt in the pick up and drop off service. Great hospitality in such a charming cozy place near all the touristy spots. Place was tastefully decorated, and spotlessly clean. 

Did not expect to enjoy the onsen as this is the midst of summer with one of Japan's highest temperature ever. However, I ended up enjoying the Onsen very much, as the water temperature is just nice and the surrounding is so serene. It melted my fatigue from all the walking in Tokyo and ended up having one of the best night sleep in Japan for my trip!

Highly recommended for a non-main stream stay around Kawaguchiko!

Hidden Gem

No matter what, Toshiaki Aoki will take care of you! Picking you up and bringing you to the station, showing you around, treating you with an amazing breakfast/brunch. The place is so peaceful. By all means enjoy the blessings of the outdoor bath! Not so easy to reach when you don’t travel by car, but a walk downtown is a good exercise. You will definitely be rewarded, when back!
