3 friends sharing a room. Western style bedroom with a shared Japanese style bathroom (although they had western toilets). Provided towels and toiletries in bathroom. Room was clean and comfortable although a little on the small side for three people, no storage space. 5 min walk to the ski lifts, restaurants within walking distance. Really friendly staff. Free whisky and wine every night!

Wonderful 5 day stay. Extremely close to the ski link. Great staff, very helpful. Shout out to Kohei. Will return next year. At close proximity to ski rentals and places to get your board serviced....

Wonderful stay

This little guesthouse is in a great location to walk to the ski lifts. Small rooms but clean compact and was a good option for a short stay. There were social drinks on in the evenings, a reasonable breakfast included in the mornings, decent English speaking front desk to help with restaurant bookings and getting around. A good option if you’re looking for a relatively inexpensive place to stay and want to be able to walk to the lifts and in a central location. Still need a decent walk or taxi to get into the main town of Furano (away from the ski slopes) but still very do-able

Basic and clean Japanese guesthouse 

Loved every minute of our stay at Petit Hotel #Melon. Had 11 nights here from end Jan to Mid Feb. The staff are always going out of their way to help with booking taxis, suggesting restaurants etc and nothing is too much trouble. Lovely rooms, clean and super close to Kitanomine Gondola. Great happy hour each night getting to know other residents from all over the world. Already booked for next ski trip in 2020....but don’t want the secret of Furano to get out!

Best kept secret close to lifts with amazing staff

Rooms are compact, clean and simply furnished, with parking space available right out back. There are some free snacks and alcohol in the kitchen area in the evening, which is a nice touch for when it gets a little chilly. All in all decent accommodation in Furano. Prices are reasonable for local standards (during off-peak season)

Pleasant little hotel

I don’t think I’ve ever paid $400 AUD for one night in a 12” square room with four beds and no bathroom. Not even a sink. 
Two shared showers for 20 people in the whole building in a dingy basement. A shared kitchen that was reminiscent of the galley on a Russian nuclear submarine and well, I don’t see what others see in this place? 
I’m not adverse to small Japanese rooms but for the price and space this just is off the scale. 
Yes it was clean, yes they are super nice 19, maybe 20 year old boys who ran the place and yes they offered free booze from 8-9pm (that I did not avail myself to) but the whole experience just left me bemused.
Go see it for yourself. It will be like going back to school camp (possibly minus the booze!!) ;)

Mixed bag. 

We spent 3 nights here during our stay in Furano. This place is extremely clean and has a home-like vibe, with a nice mahogany theme. Rooms are clean, neat and the beds are comfortable. Shared bathrooms are also clean and basic washing amenities are provided. The free-bar that provides free coffee and warm water is convenient and nice to have around. The manager that takes care of the hotel is extremely hospitable, approachable and helpful. Free parking, a shared kitchen, and free laundry services are available. Overall, this hotel is great.

Comfortable stay, Great Service, Feels like home

Excellent customer service and free flow of alcohol from 8-9pm every night! Room was really clean and quite spacious for the price we paid (relatively cheap- 10.8k yen). Great for a stopover night at Furano.
