We stayed at the Pension Nugget Inn for 3 nights and it was absolutely perfect. The most convenient location, super clean facilities, and they even gave us a bottle of wine to enjoy while we stayed with them. What made staying here the most memorable was the couple that owns the Inn. They are so incredibly sweet. You can tell how much they take pride in their home and we loved every minute that we stayed with them. We can’t wait to be back, and we will definitely be bringing our friends and family next time too!

Perfect location, clean and cozy home, and the most amazing hosts!

Fantastic little place. The rooms are basic, but perfectly clean. The shared bathroom amenities are modern and spotless. You can tell the couple that run the place take great pride in their place. 
Their breakfast is made fresh and changes daily, I nice touch!
I’d have no hesitation in bringing my family or friends back here!

Great little place

If you want to relax in a bath hot tub built for 2 after snowboarding then get in line , this little gem is for you ! 
We were greeted by the owners ( there names have slipped my mind ) with not only beaming smiles but a local wine for us to snack on during our stay of 10 days . The cleanest and most homely of lodges, quiet and so close to echoland  it really can’t be bettered unless you have a bank account bigger than mine and likely do . Rooms are plentiful and warm . Drying room is ample and warm . Shower and bath facilities are Boom🔥 Double shower heads , stools , body wash and hair products for the lady . Baths and hot tub galore . I almost looked forward more to the hot tub than the slopes when the Pow was off ! 
All in all I think you cannot go past this little Nugget  . Do yourself a favor and stay here , you will return I have no doubts , we most certainly will .

Just like home but better !

Our 6 night stay at Pension Nugget Inn was unforgettable. The lovely hosts - Tani & Toshiko san greeted us as we arrived and presented us with a gift of local wine.
Our bedroom was cclean, neat & tidy with heating and warm doonas. The shared bathrooms were always immaculately clean and there was never a wait. Both bathrooms have a bath to soak in if you wish. There is a lovely lounge area for groups to spend time chatting, eating or having a drink together. The hosts are always available to ask questions and also to join you for a drink! The breakfast is optional and is always on time and a nice way to start the day. I cannot reccommend The Pension Nugget Inn highly enough - it was one of our highlights meeting Tani & Toshiko san. We had a wonderful time staying with them.

Perfect Japanese Hospitality at Pension Nugget Inn

Extremely hospitable owners, willingly going out of their way to account for every need, nice rooms and spacious bathrooms. Excellent location in Hakuba, close to echoland centre and bus stop to all nearby mountains. Food served for breakfast is a little too western, but its good start to the day before hitting the incredible slopes. Overall, a great value for money.

Definitely recommend

Firstly the positives are that the place is well kept, with nice shared bathrooms and comfortable beds. The provided breakfast is good. The hosts are friendly.

The negative is that the place is not correctly advertised which led to a very lengthy three way discussion with booking.com to sort the issue out. I notice that the listing has still not been updated. The quad rooms say that they have four beds. This is not the case at all - there are two beds and the other two "beds" are in fact futons which are to be laid out on the tatami area. This leads to very cramped conditions in the room. We would have booked two single or twin rooms had we known this prior to arrival. Fortunately booking.com resolved this issue in our favour and we ended up in two twin rooms at no extra cost, even though the property tried to charge us extra.
