Most kind and accommodating hosts who made our stay with them wonderful.
I have no hesitation in recommending them.
The breakfasts provided were an excellent start to our days skiing.
The skiing was the best that we have ever encountered.

Very enjoyable

Wonderful service and hospitality from Maikiko and her parents with friendly guests. Excellent location near Sakka Slope with virtual ski in, ski out; just cross the road, walk 50 metres and put on your skis.  But beware the usual hard Japanese beds!

Friendly family run pension

Superlative service was provided during our stay here in the heart of the Hakuba-One ski area. Nothing was too much trouble. Located approximately a ten minute walk from the ski lifts and within walking distance from all other amenities. Transport was provided any time we needed it and even offered when we didn't! The rooms were clean and cozy and the family went out of their way to help us foreigners with anything required. I definitely recommended this as a good place for family and couples to stay.

Lovely Family Run Pension Hotel

The hosts are what make this family-run lodge a must-stay. We stayed for three nights and they were so accommodating, from providing transport to and from the bus station, to driving us around. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The rooms and bathrooms are basic but comfortable, and spotless. 

Great location for skiing and après as well, as there is a pub with live music 5 minutes' walk down the road and an excellent (reflected in the price) Wagyu restaurant nearby. An evening shuttle goes from the hotel two doors up to Hakuba town centre and beyond (including Echoland), giving you more food options. 

You can book a private onsen (again close by) or brave the public (ie fully naked) one in town. If you do go into town, I thoroughly recommend a small restaurant called Cakuichi - make sure you book beforehand though as it only seats about a dozen people.

We will definitely be back.

Superlative service

Noichigo lodge was a prime example of what all lodge owners should strive for. Truly top tier in every way. 

The service provided at the lodge could not be better. I was picked up directly from the bus station (despite being 30 minutes late) and taken to pick up my ski gear while being shown shortcuts and ways to the local ski lifts along the way. Makiko, the daughter of the family, speaks flawless English so you will never have a problem with your needs being lost in translation and even the owners will do there best to get their points across with their limited English, which is often enough.

The rooms were more than adequate, small, but plenty of space to make yourself comfortable. Similarly, the (private) bathroom is small but has everything you would need. Definitely no complaints. Dinner is a beautiful 3 course meal, which every night left me feeling left me completely stuffed and satisfied while also being delicious. Breakfast is a simple hot breakfast varying day to day, also very good.

For skiiers looking to stay here, its only about a 100m walk through a forest path to reach the Sakka slopes (which then connect everywhere else in Happo-One). This means the location of the lodge is both nice and quiet, away from the hustle and bustle of main gondola, but also just a minute or so from the from door to the lifts.

I honestly couldn't recommend this lodge enough. I have zero complaints and all praise for this beautiful lodge and the family that runs it. I will definitely come back if I stay in Happo-One again.
